  1. Great Game Between  2 Really  Good Football  Teams.  Devil's established  their physicality  in the 2nd Half. I was a little  surprised Anderson County  gave  up on the run so fast . They are a better offense  when they are Balanced.  Greeneville  did a Great  Job of being more disciplined and cutting  the penalties  down this  week.  And they took care of the Football  which was Big. Greeneville  was missing 2 startes tonight.  And got 2 more hurt in the Game hopefully  they can get some of them back. And finally  I will say this. There is no way Gilliam  did not know  there was something  wrong with Hall. And he left him In There

That is a terrible  look for Anderson  County

  2. What a AWESOME  football  game.  Between  two heavyweights.  That was definitely  a ole fashion  slobber knocker.  I'm  really  surprised  Greeneville  pulled it out with pretty much the same game plan as all year. Hat's  off to the effort  the kid's  gave  and for cutting  down the penalties  this week. Enjoy  it tonight  kid's  then back to work. Win or go home starts  next Friday  night. Got to keep grinding Go Devil's

  3. The main thing i see wrong with the Devil's  is the offensive  line. Those 2 defensive  ends  or studs.  But on offense  they are 3rd and 4th string running backs. Put them on the offensive  line they are not getting  enough  carries  to make a difference I know  1 plays  some TE but we need them at least at 1 tackle  spot move the one bigger tackle  inside  to guard he is not quick enough  to play tackle . If Myers  isn't  on the field  then you are not playing  your best 11 that's  been  my biggest  concern  all year is the o line

Totally agree and it hurts now greeneville is looking at a 3rd no game

Greenville Director of Schools owes you one of those games. The game with Alcoa could have been concluded on Thursday.

At what time ? I live about 4 miles  from the stadium  and when I went  to bed at 12:30 it was still lightning.  The crowd leaving  would  have  interfered with school drop off  lol

  5. Greeneville  besides  this  coming Friday  has a scheduled  open date on October  13th but continuing  the theme of this season  every team they have lost is all ready playing  that weekend.  Smh. I knew Boone and west would  have  a hard time getting  it in Friday  but I would  have  thought for sure they would  have  played either Saturday  Sunday  or Monday.  Backing it up a week is ridiculous.  They signed a two year home and home GHS is supposed  to go down  there next year. If they don't  come up here this  Year there Is  no way I would  give them their  home game  next year. Absolutely  none

Time for me to move on. Best of luck to the Greeneville Green Devils!

IMO, The Devils are the Team to beat in 4A!

Greeneville has some of the best fans and Coacht representees on here!:thumb:

Much Respect  BC you guys have  a Great  Football  Team . Hate it turned out like it did. I know  it's  frustrating  for everyone  involved  especially  us since  this  is the 2nd time in 4 weeks.  We are now looking  at a 8 game  schedule  this  Year. I am  really  at a loss to understand  how this  has happened  to the same  team  twice  in a month. Just  snake bit I guess. We needed  this  game  even if we did get beat it would  have  made us a better  Football  team.

I thought the Personal Foul was because #65 ripped off an Alcoa players helmet (I'm sure he said something too) and #65 definitely deserved it.  As for the holding penalty it definitely was and wouldn't have been if #4 for Greeneville wouldn't have thrown him down on the kick out block coming out of the backfield.

I don't  question  either call. Just  stating the fact that the game was called  fairly  and they used tssaa protocol  on the delay.  Just  for all the  conspiracy  talk out there that believes  GHS WAS TRYING  to get out of the Game.  I  don't  believe  that for a minute . I don't  blame  them for not playing  last night that game  would  not have  restarted till 11:30 or possibly  even midnight  with over two quarter's  left  to play. The Alcoa kid's  would  have  got home a couple  hour's  before  day break  on a school night. Thinking  it should  have  been  played last night shows where people's  priorities  is. Now if they could  find away  to play at another time that would  be great.  I am willing  to bet that every game that has been  delayed  in the past and finished in the middle  of the night was on a Friday  night with no school  the next day

Here is my take on the game.

Greeneville dominated the first quarter and Alcoa gained momentum back in the 2nd Quarter after the pick 6 and had the momentum before the weather delay. (Don't get me started on who ever made the play call to throw a roll out pass on your own 1 yard line instead of trying to get some breathing room and then run that play).  Alcoa had made adjustments and Greeneville needed to make them on the O side of the ball.  Greeneville was definitely gassed before half with so many players going both ways.  Alcoa needs to keep Graf as the QB and believe he is the better of the two QB's.  Pagach didn't look like a 3star QB with an Int (Almost threw two more). #7 Cannon is the cog that makes Alcoa's offense run and he is a great RB and LB.

I also think people need to Call out Steve Starnes (The Greeneville Superintendent) for not at least waiting until midnight if the Alcoa Superintendent agreed to a midnight cutoff.  I also would like to see the game made up because it was a slug fest between tow great teams.  I can guarantee you players on both sides are feeling beat up today and cheated they didn't get to finish.

As for as the delay before the storm past over the stadium I can guarantee you they were following the NFHS Lightning Guidelines that states "When lightning-detection devices or mobile phone apps are available, this technology could be used to assist in making a decision to suspend play if a lightning strike is noted to be within 10 miles of the event location."  I know Greeneville put in a new weather detector this year.

I agree with all of this

When it is directed toward the opponent it will be called every time.

Alcoa traveled 2 hours in three charter busses. I never saw one official, line judge, back judge or Ref get out the Alcoa busses.....

"Catching any breaks"....You mean "home cooking"?

Exactly  everything  was done fairly  no conspiracy  on the Greeneville  side my whole  point. Just  one of those unfortunate  thing's  that happens.  Both team's  wanted to play or they wouldn't  have  scheduled  the Game  to start with.

I also find it "interesting" this game was call for lighting in the area a full hour before the storm would hit Greeneville? Especially after Alcoa is driving the field before halftime. Greeneville is gassed. One defensive player is throwing up on the field. Greenville players get a personal foul for language. Alcoa has a 1st down at the Greeneville 29 yard line with 2:36 seconds before halftime. Knowing the storm is coming and the game "could" get called?? Hmmm.

A personal  foul for Language.  Dang how soft is that. Plus a TD Called  Back for Holding . Humm.  Sure doesn't  sound like  the Home Team was catching  any Breaks  from The officials  does it. As far as the lightning  I am sure you or aware they have  that stupid  10 mile rule in TSSAA if it is on radar with in the 10 miles team's  go to the locker room. I personally  think that is a being a little  to cautious I mean shoot that's  all most half way to Johnson  City.but if it is a tssaa rule the refs  are going  to enforce it. I am having  a hard time with the conspiracy  theories

I believe gvile knew what was coming for them the 2nd half. Why not play tomorrow

You do realize  that Alcoa hadn't  scored a single  point the first half offensively  right ?. No one knows for sure what would  have  happened  the rest of the way. I felt like Alcoa had some momentum  going  finally.  But that can all change on one play. I am not going  to pretend  to be nostradomus and say I know  this  or that was going  to happen.  It's  high school football  anything  could  have  happened.  I do know  Greeneville  was their  own worse enemy  with the holding call that brought back a Touchdown  and a bad decision  on a pick six from your own 1. I think Greeneville  Dominated  the first quarter  and I think Alcoa  out played them the 2nd up until  the time the storm came. Two Good  Football  Teams. As far as playing  tomorrow.  I believe  one reason  it was a Thursday  Game  is because  of the refs shortage  local  teams or required  to play one Thursday  game  to help the situation.  This  was Greeneville's Thursday  Game  I am sure the referee crew has a game  somewhere  else tomorrow  night. Plus hate to say it but in the 10 day forecast  for here scattered  thunder storms for for Friday  , Saturday  and Sunday

  12. Should  be fun and a Great Test for the Devil's.  I believe  they have  to play their very best game  to have  a chance  to win. No turnovers  keep  the penalties  low. Defensively  they have  to be able  to get some pressure  or they will get picked apart. But my Biggest  concern  is the offensive  line.  Have not looked Great  against  tennessee high, DB . They haven't  found a good  replacement  for the Young Man that is at Austin Peay right now at right Guard. Just one man's  opinion  but I believe  the o line would  be better  if they put Christman and Myers on it . Right now they are starting  d line and getting  about 3 carries a piece  in the run game.  Both have  played a lot of football  at Greeneville  and or two of their most athletic  strongest kid's  going 235 to 240 lbs. If I put their  o line together  it's  iessi  at center Christman right guard  lister right tackle  I move Merriweather  from left  tackle  to guard if they are not going  to pull the guards  as much as last year and I put Myers  at left  tackle.  I think that Is their  best combination.  You still have  4 to 5 kid's that are really  good  RB's Dickson, Quillen , Bishop and armbrister. It would  go along way at getting  your best 11 on the field. But that's  just  my opinion.
