I'll continue to say this because I have seen it so many times. That 101 to 18 blow out will bite you on the behind. Someone will beat you and put you out of the chance to win a state tournament.  I'd be a shame, did you ever start to think about what you have done to a young group of ladies. Can't wait till I can come back to this post to say I told you so. TSSAA needs to come up with some kind of a rule to avoid this.

Well the time has come, and I can say I told you so!! You've been bit by karma. Better luck next season. Lol

This was supposed to be a rebuilding year for Upperman so we are playing with house money at this point. If we pull this off we have to start talking about coach McWilliams as one of the best.

    Omg

A couple of weeks ago, White County dominated at home against Upperman. This time the game is in Baxter.  I think the Lady Bees will play better this time around and I see the game much closer.  White County jumped on Upperman early and pretty much held that lead throughout the game. If White County dominates inside like they did in Sparta, then they will win.  I could be wrong but I think the home team wins a close one 41 to 39.

I think the only way Upperman wins, is if Dana can get some help from the officials. And I've seen that happen. After the Dekalb game I wouldn't bet on Upperman. 7AAA Is a tough district and I really think it's up for grabs. Every team will have to bring their A game each night during tournament.

FCBOE doesn’t decide who coaches Clarkrange boys basketball. The Clarkrange AD does and I’ll just leave it at that.

Well bad decision on his part. Must have been desperate.

Out of curiosity what if a team is up 50 to start the 4th quarter and the winning team has all the 3rd string in, do you tell them to stall for the whole quarter?  I have seen games where the winning team plays no defense and just lets the losing team score and I find that embarrassing for the losing team as well.

Yes if you're a coach with class, because if the 3rd string is beating a team that bad they aren't going to benefit from it,  They will learn nothing. All I'm saying is teams that do that will get what they deserve.

  6. So much talent has went through Clarkrange in the past and present years, and not much to show for it. A lot of it was past coaching. I heard Gary Clark radio announcer interviewimg the present coach at Clarkrange the other night, the coach said he didn't know what was wrong with the boys because at the beginning of the season. They where all fired up, hustling, and playing really good but now they're not and don't know why. Well let me give you my opinion, after watching most of the games this year my opinion is it is the coaching as in the past for several years. I see very little respect towards the coach from the players, every game you'll have a different starting  five players. The season is almost over and if you don't know who your best five players are by now, then you need to let it go, step out of the role, and then maybe Fcboe can find a good one. Just my opinion,  not everyone will agree but a lot will.

This school has been beaten by 61 as well this year. GP has to play them as they are a district team and while I agree it was a little excessive, it was still going to be bad either way. This is a relatively new school, who shouldn’t even be playing a TSSAA schedule. Is this a home school or just a new private school in Maryville?

I know of a very popular coach that will literally tell his players to stop shooting, because he has class and knows beating a team by that much does you no good, you learn nor gain absolutely anything from it, with the exception of respect from the other team.

If GP loses it won't be because they beat a bad team 101-18!   They are a VERY talented team with alot of depth.  I wasn't there but I doubt they pressed the entire game or had their starters in most of the second half.  If they did then they shouldn't have and you can complain!

In most cases like this the bench comes in early and stays most of the game.  And if you put your bench in are you supposed to tell the girls that work their butt every single day in practice that they aren't supposed to go out there and play the game?   Sometimes the talent gap on the floor can't be changed.  You can change to zone defense and you can stop pressing but you can't tell your girls to not score the ball or ask them to let the other team score!    Would you rather them hold the ball at half court for 2 quarters of the game??  If that is what you guys are saying then why doesn't the other team just forfeit after the first quarter?   Now if the team pressed the entire game or left their starters in that is a different story.

I'm not complaining I have no dog in that fight, I'm just saying you shouldn't humiliate another team like that, what did the team earn from doing that, it proved nothing cause there was nothing to prove. In my eyes the coach has control of their team, it all depends on if the coach has any class or if they enjoy humiliating groups of young teenagers. On that note just saying you usually get what you deserve.

The Dragonettes had an early 14 point lead on the 6-1 Lady Cavaliers but Cookeville took the lead by 3 with about 5 minutes to go. York retook the lead at 50-48 with 51 seconds to go. Cookeville panicked with seconds to go and threw up a terrible 3...it missed by 10 feet at least. York brought it in and Clemson signee, Reese Beauty, was fouled. She sank both free throws for the 52-48 win.

Desperation will get you in most cases, not really and fan of either team, but if I had to pick I'm happy York pulled out a win.

Maybe if Lamar had put his subs in earlier the Cumberland coach would of done the same.  Who leaves their starters in and continues to full court press vs the other teams freshmen?  You can spin it anyway you want but that's a lack of character!

Does it really matter? Why are you crying over it? Geez. Lol

Ahh so it was worse than final score showed.

Yes, CCHS was beating CHS to pieces, coaching staff put in subs midway through the 3rd quarter. No team in single A in my opinion has a chance at beating Crossville. 2A District 7 is going to be a tough bout for sure.

What about Clarkrange and Pickett this year?? Does any have enough to make a run to the Glass House and win it?? I seen where Jackson County looks to be a littler better this year. Know they are 2 A but they have been down a bit to their standards. I do think Mckenzie lost enough last year to make Single A more competitive. They still could win it all but they lost some good players.

Pickett County could be, but still may be a one and done for them like in the past. I'm hearing a lot of fussing going on between the players and was told the coach is burnt out and doesn't want to coach anymore,  which that part I find hard to believe.  But I guess come March we'll all know for sure.

Cumberland led Clarkrange 50-10 mid 3rd qrt. before they turned it over to their freshmen on the bench.  Lamar on the other hand left his starters in and full court pressed the remainder of the game.  Classless move from one of the winningest coaches in tenn girls basketball.

It was nice of the CCHS coaching to do that, Lamar would have done the same thing but since the games was over in the first quarter that's when he would have started subbing the younger players not mid way through the 3rd.

  15. After watching CCHS play Clarkrange High the other night I'm going to have to disagree,  they are way better than 40 points than PC. Their press is unheard-of they beat you to death and don't get called for it so I'm sure that's why they beat PC by 36.

After seeing PC play three games, if they are down, it's not noticeable. They look very good.

Being down or not will be determined when they play a competitive team, so far they really haven't . I will say the same thing about Clarkrange they are down some, but have played some decent competition. And that's what it takes is to play bigger teams. Good luck to both teams, just hope both can upset Clay County.  :bored:
