In my opinion CD does the best job running a program in the county...yes SG almost always has a better team but they also have better athletes....CDs practices are very organized and they use their time wisely...their weight program is good and I understand that they are catching another gear as far as conditioning also....SG is a close 2nd (but they do have the athletes also)...WG and NG are so far out of the picture its not funny...however if WG hires who I think they will he will be doing the same things CD does. CD has the ONLY coaches in the county that have ever even played College Football and they have 2 of those...Coach Murphy even coached College ball...he played at Cumberland College...Griffin at Carson-Newman...so they know how things should be done....maybe with all the returning players coming back to CD they can make a little noise in the years to come....but good luck to all the county teams. Just my thoughts on the matter....

On the coaches SG has the only coach that has played professional football what's that do for ya. Not only in the NFL but the former USFL as well as the AFL.

Rumor from the BB program has it that Mike Wilson is done.

Whether he goes on his own or is forced out, it's very obvious that this team needs a disciplinarian to take over a sinking ship.Recent fits trown by players prove that no matter how nice a person is, sometimes a situation just don't work out!

    This one hasn't for sure!

Elizabethton has the right ,man in place.Coach Lynn Dugger guided this team to many successful seasons and has remained a loyal and dedicated employee, even coaching freshman teams and assisting with the JR High kids as he could!

I would ask the powers that be, please let bygones be bygones and return a very successful and great BB Coach to the bench,SOON!

I hope we don't seen the "this group vs that group" politics rear it's ugly head again,I hope we are finally over this way of doing things.I hear that things are finally settling down and people no longer fear speaking to one another in public withhout loosing their jobs.

If the ugly politics show up again, then the leaders of this system or the elected leaders have failed the citizens yet again!

Yeah, what the deal in E-town? I've heard a bunch of stuff about kids quitting during the middle of games and all kinds of other crap. What exactly is goin down over there?

  3. Kyle was one of the best kids to go through SG! He decided to play at WS after turning down several offers. He felt that playing at a CC would allow him to continue to develop, in hopes that someone else will pick him up later. Whatever he does, I wish him all the luck in the world. I am sure Coach Hoese and SG would love to have him back! I am also sure the rest of the league is glad to see him gone.

  4. I think the sweatband above the elbow rule is stupid. I cannot see how it could be a safety precaution because sweatbands STRETCH and slide down your arm. To get hurt by a sweatband you would have to literally tie it around your finger. Most times you dont have time to do that during the game. When I played center I wore one right above my elbow on the right side so I put one on the left so to not feel unbalanced and now I wear them all the time, every game. Its like a game to game tradition, everyone has them whether they admit it or not. The sweatbands are mine and I will continue to wear them. Not to mention they strike fear into the hearts of the oponents!! - 209

  5. :thumb: I think that every high school football team in Tennessee has their own best player... My personal favorite for Greene County football is Adam Sizemore... but maybe that's just me. Also, for Greene County, I believe that some teams that didn't do so great last year are gonna be really good this year... and north greene will NOT beat south greene.

    Nice Tawnya.

  6. Chimichonga I mean krichunaka,

ChrisBurr may be the greatest proctologist in the world but if NG and WG are 1, 2 then I'll go home and never watch another game ever again. That will be my punishment for questioning the all mighty Burr, to stay at home and never witness another HS football game ever, not even highlights on local news.

  7. 1T(#1).North Greene(5-1)-Beats West Greene

    1T(#2).West Greene(5-1)-Beats Cumberland Gap

    1T(#3).Cumberland Gap(5-1)-Beats North Greene

4.Chuckey Doak(3-3)-Loses to the above 3, but beats the bottom 3

    5T.Happy Valley(1-5)-Beats South Greene

    5T.South Greene(1-5)-Beats Gatlinburg-Pittman

    5T.Gatlinburg-Pittman(1-5)-Beats Happy Valley

omg I've seen more intelligent predictions from a monkey pullin names out of a hat if you truly think this then you're not watchin the same teams I am.

  8. Big games coming up for the top 3 teams in the Conference. Johnson County will be playing on a high note after defeating the Cyclones, and I'm sure Elizabethton will be looking for blood on Thursday (but, aren't they always when it comes to Erwin?) It will be interesting to see how things play out today and Thursday. I certainly wouldn't want to miss either of these games.

And here's a question...Where has the coverage of the conference games been this year? I have seen very little in the JC press about any of the Watauga games. What gives?

I don't think JC is one of the top three teams. South Greene beat Johnson County twice, and has only 3 conference losses (Unicoi twice & Elizabethton once). SG has West Greene at home and Elizabethton away to finish the season.

  9. Ladies and gentlemen!! What you have here! And get that camera on it! What you have here is the total picture of success. I'm talking about the best weight lifting meet in the state and the best lifters in the world. I've got the Powerlifting USA magazine that proves just that. Probably the strongest pound for pound sixteen year old in the state will be lifting in this meet. This kid may attempt a 700 lb. deadlift at 210 lb. body weight. We have several 500 lb. bench pressers and several powerful football programs that are bringing the beef to this meet. Put it all together with the King himself competing for the high prize and you've got the ingredients for the greatest meet ever!! whooo!! And the only way to say that your number one is to BE! number one!! And the Bob People's memorial deadlifting trophy is the only title that makes you number one!! When you are the KING!!! You rule the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whooooooooooooo!! Think about it like that ya'll!!!! :thumb:

By the way, the meet will be April 29. Don't sing it, bring it!!

That's what I'm talkin about, I'm not going to pull 700 by any means but I'm gonna bring it. You can bet I'll be there.

  10. The tv broadcast isnt shown on the big screen. 2 different sets of cameras. Im hoping that UPN isnt that stupid, lol.

I found the announcers to be completly useless though. One of the announcers at conclusion of the third quarter when Shelby got the tip in at the buzzer, kept yelling..."Whys he driving?! Whys he driving?! They need a three!!!" Then notices that it was the third quarter, and he answers himself. I found that humerous.

The announcers of those games always annoy me. The announcers for the football state title games were morons. They say things that are not even relative to the game and half the time they're clueless to what is going on. They are people who don't have an athletic bone in their bodies and have never played so they're clueless as to whats going on in the game. Thats why the big time announcers are all retired players or coaches.

  11. I keep reading the same thing repeatedly" I don't know what Greeneville has" and "I haven't seen them play"... but you all know what a blowout its gonna be? It would be unwise to bet against a horse you know nothing about. I think it is great to have confidence in your team but if you fail to have respect for a snake it could bite you. I haven't heard a single Greeneville disrespect this talented Hamilton team. We all know what an enormous challenge faces the Devils and are confident in their talent and preparation. I realize Hamilton has yet to lose a game this season, and from the tapes I have seen they have dominated everyone in west TN, but you might also consider they haven't played Greeneville yet.... GO DEVILS!!!

Yea the only thing is that Hamilton's horse runs about 65 m.p.h. so I'm going with them. And I wouldn't say Greeneville is a snake more of a small lizard.

  12. you know what i have noticed... No one ever comments back about the posts that i have.. You know why.. its because they are always right.. Greeneville will not get blown of the the gym by hamilton and i promise you they won't score a hundred points on us like they did against melrose. Greeneville will not go down easily. I hope you all look over them because like i have said before it will come back to haunt you........

No one ever comments back because no one cares what you have to say.

  13. Longhorn its funny your talking trash considering you go to South Greene, what was your score down at alcoa monday night??? I can promise you we wont get beat that bad and by the way anything can happen on any night 1980 US hockey team vs. The Soviet Union...NOVA over Pat Ewing and UNDEFEATED Georgetown...Florida women beating Lady Vols in Knoxville, first time ever losing to an unranked team in Tompson Bowling history...And at least we are in the BORO

No what's funny is that you're going to get beat. I don't care how much crap you talk on here I don't care how much crap you talk elsewhere the bottom line is you're going to get beat. Yeah we got stroked by Alcoa, but we weren't the ones talkin about some sort of God sent upset. I don't care what kind of miracles have happened IN THE PAST what matters is the present, and my magic ball says that Greeneville gets beat.

  14. Hamilton

    Halftime score:

    Hamilon - 39

    Greenville - 37

By the rules of the TSSAA the state tourny must play eight minute quarters not three. If Greeneville thinks they have a snowball's chance in heck of winning the game then somebody has been smoking something, and I'm not talkin Marlboros. Hamilton's flippin point guard is as big as Wiggins and the posts are bigger. I'm talkin turn around in the paint and hammer it over whoever is in the way and laugh about it on the way back down the floor. The flippin point guard can hammer it WITH AUTHORITY. Then after the dunk they're gonna shoot the lights out. I counted over 15 threes hit in the game with Mitchell. They're ranked #6 in the nation for a reason. I hope you guys don't have week long reservations cause you guys are comin home early.

  15. O.K. I'm gonna step out on a limb and talk about what the thread was originally about South Greene in the region not the let's brag about Greeneville thread. South Greene plays Happy Valley in a district rematch. SG was upset last time by HV but SG will be looking to do the same tonight. Donahue had 34 against the Gap so I think he's ready to go. This should be a good one. Now I'm gonna reply for ComexxOriginal2221. " oh u guyz are bad greeneville good. we beated the south greenes hicks they is bad. we is good." :thumb:
