UT Martin and Maybe Bethel could bid if they choose I believe. Memphis for sure but that aint never gonna happen.
UT Martin would be the more ideal stadium down in West TN. Bethel would be a train wreck. Only have one sided stands in the stadium

That's another problem. Most people who are as terrible at their job as these jokers are eventually replaced. I guess that since Gary Danielson still has his job, football announcers are somewhat immune though. They're bad enough when the game has their full attention, but when doing their mandatory TSSAA (and sponsors) promotions, the game might as well not exist. I honestly get so fed up with their vernacular that I turn the volume off and just watch.
The best announcer for these games are Titans Mike Keith, but I don’t understand why they can’t give a call to the college announcers.. this is your big weekend for the sports. I’d at least try to make the presentation the best quality I could

won't happen cause too many coaches and fans will complain too much about having to understand anything more difficult than 1v4 and 2v3 first round games
That’s exactly the problem, but little do some of them know back in the 70’s 80’s and early 90’s best two teams in district went to the playoffs and every week it was a slobber knocker because it was the best teams across the state

To eliminate the 0-10, 1-9, 2-8 type teams, this would be Ideal. You would also get potentially better early round games as well
That’s what I was thinking. That’s what needs to be stopped. A 1-9 teams making the playoffs before a team with a winning record in a tough region shouldn’t happen

I agree with you. The crime capital of our state probably wouldn’t be ideal.
You are right, Memphis would be a nightmare for that. They don’t care about stuff like the State Championship. They did baseball back in early 2000s until Murfreesboro thankfully took over that
-
Just curious, but will TSSAA ever bring the Z plan back?
-
Memphis doesn’t bid for the games, maybe when they renovate the stadium and parking there they will.

I missed this one. Picked Tyner by 21. Riverside played their butts off. After watching it, I’m not even sure the best team won. Congrats to Tyner on the win though.
That’s how I feel. Riverside played well enough ball to win today, but Tyner made the plays that were needed to win, that’s all that matters in big games. Two really good teams went at it and will be the best game this weekend imo

He basically just said that this game was supposed to be a blowout

Tyner has a good team. Tyner beats McKenzie by 2 td’s just looking at how things would match up. Tyner has a monster D line and great speed
And that’s not fair to McKenzie to make that fantasy matchup prediction because they have a good team but Tyner is just that good IMO
I stand corrected after today on this, McKenzie beats Tyner

I thought the pass interference against Riverside was weak.
Roughing passer was very weak
That last ineligible down field on Tyner wasn’t good either

This right here is the best idea I've seen on this thread.. Is this similar to what basketball/baseball is now? I'm not too familiar with those.
Yes it is

Just didn’t agree with the roughing the passer. Refs have missed calls for both teams all day

grabbing any part of the helmet draws a facemask penalty per a ref friend of mine
You are correct. I stand corrected on that

Phantom pass interference allows Riverside the FG chance late in the half. These refs have been brutal since Thursday
Some questionable calls against both teams for sure

Didn't look like a face mask either...big call too, 4'th and long otherwise.
Yeah that call was a head scratcher. I could see them calling horse caller maybe but a face mask wasn’t the call.

I re-watched the McKenzie-SP game from last year the other day. McKenzie definitely shot themselves in the foot a few times which played a huge part in SP winning that game. I’d also agree with what others have said in that this year’s Clay Co team won’t be able to match up as well with McKenzie as last year’s SP team could.
I watched some of Clay County and have seen McKenzie. I’m pretty sure Clay will try and play keep away, but this game has Union City vs Coalfield 2014 all over as matchup wise

I think UCs sophomore class is stacked
Idk what McKenzie has coming back other than losing a pretty good senior class, but UC will be a favorite in 1A as long as they are there

Facts the only reason. Then they all somehow ended up at Houston playing for Mike Miller.. imagine trying to guard 6’5,6’6, 6,9 in high school lmao. Let one of these small town schools try to pull that off lol
I watched East a couple years back and it was laughable how better they were against the pool of teams at state. I’ve had good friends that live in Memphis and they tell me about how if one don’t like a coach or school they just will up and move mid year

Preach it brother man. TSSAA turns their head whenever it comes to Memphis schools. They let Penny assemble the avengers in basketball a few years back
Only reason they took those championships is because the NCAA cracked down on him but the TSSAA gave a harsher punishment than what the NCAA gave lol

I’ve used your last statements in an argument as to why Memphis shouldn’t have the state. I remember the spring flings in Memphis and if I remember correctly USA stadium in Millington and the privates in Memphis didn’t want to have anything to do with it which is why a lot of the games were played at terrible high school fields until the state championship games. Memphis just isn’t interested in having events like this.
