We hear this every year when everyone realizes they don’t stand s chance against us...
So is it a advantage or no DevilMan? If some teams can do it, all teams should. Truth is, that rule across the board would destroy teams that never win. They wouldn't field a team because they don't have enough players. Less Teams/ Less $$$$ for the TSSAA! They know what they're doing. All about the dollar
-
Truth be told. You can do that in more rural areas. If you did that in the Metro/Nashville you'd have a mass exodous, and have 4 or 5 stacked teams with crazy numbers on the sideline(Greeneville) Meanwhile other teams wouldn't be able to field one. Understand now? It's not cheating. Just not fair across the board

The 3 "dynasty" teams I mentioned, among others, are open zones. Anybody who is willing to make the drive can play. The out of zone "tuition" is minuscule when compared to the private school's 10-20k tuition.
In other words you don't have to live there to play there. They can draw on the best players in the area.
Not sure about Haywood, but Springfield, and lots of public schools don't have this luxury.
Preach Pastor!!! I was thinking the same thing. They don't want to talk about that though. They dont want to admit, but it is an advantage. Imagine if Springfield could draw from all over Robertson County especially with all the success lately. We'd have Whitehouse, and Greenbrier lineman, and linebackers, Jo Byrns backs. East Robertsons WR. That's just not our reality, but its Greenevilles. It's not a fair playing field. No excuses here though. It's a flaw in the system and they're taking advantage.

With coverage yes they do show us some love. With rankings, no. I should’ve been more clear.
I agree. unapproved website is garbage. We do usually drop a couple of games early so I think that might have something to do with it.

I don’t think you are underdogs. I think it’s pretty evenly matched on both ends. I know Haywood isn’t going to overlook Springfield at all, it should be a heck of a game. In my opinion tho Springfield really hasn’t got much respect from a state wide media point of view, even the mid-state papers. Everyone knows Greeneville is the class of 4A, but this Springfield class of seniors have been to 4 straight qt finals and 2 straight semi-finals. They’ve probably won more games than any other class in Springfield football history.
I think the Nashville area papers show us alot of love. I think the west does too. We're not respected in East Tennessee yet, and only one thing changes that.

How far west of Brownsville is Mason? May come down early and go to the OG Gus’s fried chicken.
Where is that at? Might have to check it out while we're down there.

35-31 Haywood, were actually the underdogs in this i love it. Will be a great game
Do you think yall are the underdogs? I've seen several articles where they were picking yall again. They were saying yall are healthy, and back in business.

Well how was that schedule for Haywood last year? We spanked Springfield who beat them the week before. 54-13
I called the Maplewood Greeneville semi final game earlier in the year. I think Maplewood is cooking up something real nice for ya'll. While yall are down here check out Princes Hot Chicken. It might make yall feel better about this trip. Lol

Alcoa wanted Greeneville and Elizabethton. Ballard, at least, thought about it. Witten didn’t want to have the headache of moving their schedule to make it work. It is what it is...
I bet

No, we're 4A and still alive. Not worried about Alcoa. Though my brother played at Goodpasture so I've seen Alcoa up close and personal a couple of times.
Say you guys should play up for a challenge. Alcoa/Greenville might be a good match up
Neither team would want to play that game.

Kind of gone quiet on here. I thinks both fanbases are a little nervous about this game.
We should just send Greeneville the trophy anyway right? Nah...
Nope. Springfield 35-27. We want another crack at Greeneville!!

I’ve heard Haywood’s was pretty tough. But I don’t think any of that matters when you play Greeneville. We will just beat youbhabds down.
It mattered earlier when you was arguing your point against AC and Maplewood. I came to you because you're the stat man when it strengthens your argument.

Oh gees Boski! That’s a pupcake schedule
So @DevilMan03 who in 4A played the toughest regular season schedule? I hear Haywood, and Northside had a heck of a schedule. Springfields regular season opponents win lose is 54-46. If you add playoff teams its 71-59. I be willing to say that might be top 10 in 4A.

I agree with this.
2 hours ago, midtnmale said:In my opinion, what ultimately separates Alcoa, Greeneviile, and Maryville is not just their execution but their quality of depth. The very top 6A schools can match Maryville's quality of depth. But very few 3A and 4A schools can match the roster numbers of Alcoa and Greeneville, and none can match their quality of depth.
I agree

We're here. 50 minutes til kick off.

You going off he say and she say .. I was there !! On the sideline ! The game would of been much worse ! They took a touchdown back before half . BUT hey i don’t know football. You probably just like to talk and your IQ is trash . Northside will lose according to you Northside sucks, but you’ll be up for a ruin awakening in 7 hours .
So did SS turn the ball over three times near NS end zone since you were there? So that didnt play a factor in the the final score? The only reason SS is being mentioned is because they're a common opponent. Bro you sound slow saying NS has a score called back, but 3 or 4 turnovers didn't impact the game at all. I'm done with it. We'll see in a couple of hours.

Didn't say NS sucks. I'm saying they weren't that much better than SS. No I saw the tape, and you'd be lying if you said NS dominated SS. Keep the same energy after the game.

HA WHAT TAPE !! Send me the link please
Don't believe me? Ask somebody that went to the game. Don't worry about that. I figured you was at the game. I know NS was gifted at least 3 turnovers in about 6 minutes in the 4th quarter, and blessed to have a very short field. Dont act like NS dominated that game because they didn't. They got the W, and today they take a L.
Springfield vs Haywood again......
in Class 3A & Class 4A
