And yes, even though they may deny with extreme emotions & strong denials, officials really do call games that way as has been suggested. I happened to sit at a dinner table of many officials after a game once, (guess they thought I was one too), & they laughed & bragged about doing such things. Keeping scores down, putting coaches (&:players) in their place when they got a bad attitude, letting coaches know who is boss, etc, et al. For anyone to deny it happens would be pure foolishness & stupidity. I am NOT demeaning nor disrespecting officials, just stating facts & what everyone knows happens. Maybe this will put me in CiachT penalty box, or even banned because I offended someone.. well so be it. Truth has that effect at times. History is replete with examples of truthtellers & whistle blowers getting treated very badly by others... that's just the way it is. This world ain't a perfect place by any means, and folk just need to prepare for such things. (Sermonette lesson #587 over now) .

    Hmmmmmmmmmm really you say

No cure for what ailes you. Sad really. Go post somewhere where folk would care what you say. Oh. Sorry. That would be no where, right? And those fake monikers/id's you created to make it appear others agree with you...  pit..eee..full! You're a piece of work.

Now that is the pot calling the kettle black.

Watching me some exciting college football games!!!, Got on the "T" to catch up some, & enjoyed reading these recent posts & input. Great opinions & insights imo. And sadly, hanging my head, yes, DHS has sometimes had, let's say, "attitude issues" in the past. Rubbing other's nose in it when whopping them, or trying to injure opponent's players when getting thumped, and such junk... imho that can not be tolerated. Ever. EVER!... Thus we have our new coach, who does appear to be bringing the proper attitude & culture to Dresden. And yes, revenge & paybacks are a huge, monstrous motivator. No way around it. Just human nature, esp. in sports like football. So one needs to know that is coming & play above it all. Being humble in victory and hopeful in defeat is the attitude of champon-hearted programs. And what y'all been saying I agree with 110%! . ..Such as playing that down all-out then help opponent up, tap helmet or pads with perhaps saying Way To Go or Good Effort, etc, that is the ideal  goal all teams should have imo as their attitude & culture. It's how winners & champs do it, right? And guess what? I think that all starts at home, around kitchen table or in living room, with dad & mom leading the way, doesn't it? And if the wrong "culture" starts infecting a team, then it's time for the community & individual families to have a check-up-from-the-neck-up, to look first in the mirror as the place to begin improvement & needed changes, and then unite in doing the right thing, owning-up to past problems & making the needed changes .. Methinks this is what Dresden has done. Getting new (& the proper kind of) leadership to help our Lions be a competitive, top-tier team with championship attitudes all around (staff, players, & fans). This wasn't done out of a whim or willy-nilly. BUT...  then again...  I'm just one lone guy, I'm definitely not part of any "inside the loop" or "in the know" crowd. I'm not even a local-yocal and am an import (illegal alien to some I'm sure).  I definitely do not speak for others around here, right? In fact, I'm a hypocritical, noisy windbag who puts a sour taste in others mouths & minds according to some (ha, must be my love of garlic, habaneros, anchovies, oodles of beans, & Limburger cheese I often eat- and it's this combo's after-effects oozing out of my pores). So whadda I know, eh? This old hick from the sticks may be completely self-deceived & living in la-la-land. If so, let me be. Ha!  I'm having myself a time & enjoying my make-believe island of looneyness. GO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY! :-D:-D:-D

You have posted twice in this thread, first one is hard to tell if your a Lion fan or not. Saying  just go on and take your whipping.   Now saying you hope they play a non confrontation game. WAKE UP ITS FOOTBALL if you dont want to hit or be hit buy a ticket. Shake my head.

  4. What does this weeks match up look like.  The Lions have Quay back and he is going on all cylinders.  What do you thinks  Heavy??????  From the banter on coaches corner  Ole Puckett from the LC has thrown the gauntlet down for next week.  Home opener and all.  I thinks he got away with the call out, he knows he would have never got away with dissing the Lions with any of the old coaches.  Good luck Lions.

    **LONG POST AHEAD--  BURNED-EYES DANGER**

ROFLMHO! What part of 'I don't know' this moron 'GiveItUp' doesn't know, I don't know. Ha!  I think both of the older Yates brothers have moved off to college, incl'd one injured last year. But from what I think I've heard, there is yet a younger Yates coming up. Maybe not. I don't know for certain because I can no longer visit practices almost daily, or weightroom, and don't live in the immediate area to know such details as to last names, family-ties, positions played, or such. So I could be mistaken on precise details, as I have been before. Time will reveal all the specifics of what's what & who's who. What's so hilarious (on a sad, pitiful level) about this 'GiveItUp' imitative imbecile, (who obviously is an all-knowing guru held in honorable, high esteem by all who know them), it's sad that no matter how many different ways "I don't know" is said, he still puts me up to status of guru. Or will attribute a lie to simply unknowing something. Hahahaaaa! Poor soul, he (or she? Idk) can't  help it. One can't expect any wholesome words, a smidgen of sanity, or simple  common sense from such a pitiful, negative, accusative person. Or even having basic reading comprehension skills. (The more they post the more is revealed about themself... definitely needing a Come To Jesus moment, or two, or twelve. Ha!). I don't have to be a guru nor an expert to be a faithful fan & excited encourager of our local team. Good thing too, haha, 'cause I'd never rise to such lofty heights of football acumen to be either. And never claimed to be such. Silly little person, they just can't help themselves, and will probably never realize the truth of anything said. Oh well, it is what it is. (btw GiveItUp, if some words or concepts are unknown to you, there are books to help, like a dictionary, thesaurus or encyclopedia... and there's a big building in most towns that have oodles of books, it's called a Public Library. Amazing what you might find there.!) Oh snap.. oops, my bad, I forgot who I was talking to. The almighty awesome one who needs no help, who knows all, & who has it all figured out. Sorry.. I bow my humble head, lower my eyes, and slowly back away.. slithering to the hole I crawled from. .. Ha!

As to football, as I've stated several times, I don't know who is or is not playing for Dresden. I very well may have misheard or repeated something incomplete as to exact names... again, as said in other posts I have yet to see this season's team or meet the coach. But hopefully lots of guys will want to play once again now that we have a different coach. And I am hopeful our new coach will meld together a pride of able, hungry Lions who are eager to get back to our winning ways. There are lots I don't know.. but this I DO KNOW, namely, that a negative-hearted, stinking-thinking, brow-beating, foul-mouthed & character-assassinating "coach" (or team-member, or family, friends, or fans for that matter) will never, never, ever bring out the best on a team, or out of another.  And I am sure our new head coach & his staff will do a fine job, & our team (whoever is on it), that they'll get gooder & gooder each practice, scrimmage, & game. May the era of Coach Wes Johnson be long & prosperous, with beaucoup gold trophies & championships, & even more importantly, to graduating a huge company of young men who do awesome things as adults, & who attribute their blessed lives to the time they had as a team-member at Dresden under Coach Johnson's tenure. GO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY.

Me thinks that a nerve was struck.  Little back peddlin going on.  You see your the one calling name and putting out negative vibes there pardner.  Slow your roll and one thing is correct you your self never get on and be negative you always get your bud to do it for you  so you seem to be the positive one. But those who know you or have seen you on action know the real deal. And you DID say yates was returning and that would mean he was already there so that casts a ponderance on your saying a third Yates was coming up.  Just take it easy just pokin fun and I will still get my popcorn and watch how you handle this season.

I honestly don't know. I have a few folk I know who does know, & even get to watch practices still. After that fire last year, I been out of the loop. I still don't have a vehicle and have moved away from Dresden area. But I did hear from a friend tonight in fact, who has been to a few practices and said Lions may surprise folk. Lockhart, Yates, & several others will be back. And a few "quitters" who left early last year will be returning under this new coach. But in my opinion, as always, we gonna slaughter everyone, by mid-season some opponents may consider forfeiting, & we'll raise sports funds by playing instead SEC teams in nationally televised exhibition games as warm-up for playoffs. Ha!  Just mail us the Gold & Rings & spare everyone the embarassement. .. I wish I knew more. I do plan on going to a morning practice or two soon. (I know someone in Huntingdon with a horse I can borrow. Ha.). I'll know more then.

That's exactly why you are the great fan of the Dresden Lions,  speak on great and knowledgeable guru...... oh snap you said returners  Lockhart  and YATES will there you have it folks.  Yates is on to college I dont see him returning to high school.  Once again get your facts straight before posting.

So you have sat right beside him but you choose to get on the Internet and try solve it that way. Real classy.  You know what gives Dresden a bad name ?  The way your players acted last year against trenton and a couple other teams.

You take care of your tide and the non class they show every game.

  8. What is relevant is that as long as it is you all doing the smack talking and slandering it is accepted. But you cant take what you dish out.  You wait and see and watch, and listen and learn ole heavy will turn on the new coaching staff just like the previous 3 HC he has bashed. He has enthusiasm and if you sit close to him at the games he is always upbeat, but then he goes home and gets in here and hides and starts bashing folks.  I sat by him a few games and could not believe his doctor Jekyll Mr. Hyde side.  You all have no idea he gives Lion Football a sour taste in most true lion fans  mouths.

I know who I am, and that's all that really matters to me. if Hevy has 10, I couldn't care less, but I do enjoy his enthusiasm and support of his Lions. With the hiring of the current coach, I think 'Ol Hevy will have more good things to report very soon.

Only if he is the center of attention. That's they way ole heavy rolls.

Wow. Thanks for those encouraging, supportive words BigPurple (& others too) That means a lot to me. I do appreciate that.

As to the Lions this year, the things I'm wondering about are::

    - How many guys will try out for our team?

    - How will our fans show up at the games?

    - Who will Coach Johnson round up as assistants & support staff?

    - What new schemes & wrinkles will our Lions have? And the overall style of play, the philosophy of football as it were-- will offense be a ball control, ground & pound with clouds of dust machine that'll sit on leads (like Hodge did)? Or will it be a wide-open style & let's out-score the opponents (Rang style)? And if winning, will he let the guys score as much as possible? Or will we have a hybrid combo of all the above? As to our D, I'm hoping we will once again have our legendary dominance, that stingy, hard-hitting, mistake causing, quick swarming, beast-like, shutting-down-opponents band of warriors, with us scoring-on-D alot too. Of course it depends on how many come out & the skills & attitude they bring to the equation.

Which reminds me,  our younger team's coaches that start them out & train/prepare them before they get to HS, those coaches are doing awesome work!!! These "feeder programs" are a huge part of a high school team's success imo. And they're a huge part of Dresden's success in the past (which will hopefully resurface with our new coach).

Well... I'm rambling again. I think I'm a little upbeat & excited about our new coach & football team's future. YES! GO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY! (my horn is blaring.. feet are stomping.... cowbell going crazy.. shouting "Beast Mode" from the stands!)

Yes by all means post all you want.but make sure it is the truth you post , not just what you think is truth.

I only have had 2 monikers on CoachT- old HevyRevy1611 (maybe no 1611 at end, that was scratched awhile ago) & this one: HevyReturns. All else are not me. Imitation is the sincerist form of flattery it has been said, but some of these duds (not dude, rhymes with rude.. but dud- rhymes with stud), they go too far. To me, a dud = there's nothing there, a fake, fizzles out, no real material or substance inside, empty & hollow of anything meaningful... but yeah, some of these duds take it too far. That's alright. Karma is faithful & certain! The harvest WILL COME from the seeds they are planting today... AND also... when it is overwhelmingly proven that a HS's (or any level of school) coach, teacher, or administrator takes it too far and crosses the line with players & students.. you bet the community should and will get all over that guilty adult and will strongly call for that adult's immediate & swift ouster. It is not that the community quit on them, but they turned on their students/players, families, community, alumni, & history. This adult became a traitor & quit on their job & their calling as it were, becoming a cancerous, festering, negative influence & force. Some examples might be that the coach/staff is teaching "dirty tricks" or hitting to injure another player, or maybe creating unprofessional & unsportsmanlike attitudes & actions, & such junk. All this craziness being the new norm & "culture" for their team. Having no respect, no  discipline, & no PMA. Personally demeaning & tearing down player's self-image instead of building it up & helping create a positive, winners attitude...etc., et al.... THAT is why a community should rise up en masse & try to remove the poisonous toxicity from its' school's & sports team's ranks whenever such an adult has been proven to be causing this (& I think the town should keep at it until it happens). A team's Win-Loss record has zilch to do with it. Nyet. Nada. Nothing Look at many of Dresden's long-term coaches who didn't have winning seasons. That was ok because other things & positive influences & life principles were being taught. Though losing on scoreboard it was definitely not a demoralizing, insulting, soul-crushing, toxic relationship & culture. And the effort & example being given to the team(s) & community was still positive & encouraging.     Now if the false accusers of our fans truly, really believes your erroneous insults & barbs, then that shows 100% about you & 0% about us. For out of the abundance of the heart a person's mouth speaketh (& hand writes). Having fun back-&-forth banter is one thing, but accusatory darts is another (and The Good Book is crystal clear on who it is that's the Accuser).  So if you are attacking Dresden's fans.. thank you for clueing everyone in on these things. For exposing the type of person(s) you are, & on who motivates & inspires you. .. And Dresden is grateful for our new coach & will continue being so & super-supportive as long as he is quality, positive, strives to improve & is serious about making both the team & himself better & better, & the coach & family becomes a part of the community. Being friendly and neighborly, not aloof, standoffish, & cliquish. ... So far, from all I see & know, I believe our beloved, mighty Lions are about to return real quick to our winning ways! At least being upbeat & competitve, playing with heart & love for the game & each other. Just watch.. you'll see! GO LIONS! #1 ALL THE WAY!

Zzzzzzzz same ole same ole song and dance.  Good luck to the Lions.

Completely agree! This guy is the same age as the last coach, and just because he was at low-level positions with Colleges, he's a great hire? A couple losses will change everything.

I honestly don't care if he struggles with wins as long as his team doesn't look like a bunch of thugs on the field. Maybe semi-thugs but not full blown thugs. lol I wish him luck and hope he sticks around long enough to make this his

And here is some more brief info/history on Coach Wes Johnson from SMU's website (scroll to his name for the 2018 season)https://smumustangs.com/coaches.aspx?rc=4123&path=football .

Looks like Coach has had experience at both HS & college levels, asst. in all aspects, positions, & on both sides of the ball. Now he can put it all together as head coach here at Dresden. Methinks both Coach & our team will step into their greatness. Might surprise a whole lot of folk! Nothing to it but to do it, right? GO LIONS!

Me thinks I give him the first 3 games and he doesn't have a win and you will turn on him quick.

The growing grassroots opinion is... time for another coach. The sooner the better. I have held off long enough, and tried being upbeat & positive & supportive no matter what. But to close your eyes & deny the blatantly obvious of what needs to be done, that is just crazy. It's hard & tough when all the evidence & tests are in, and the doctors say, Sorry, you have cancer. You must have this surgery now... and this is the clear need I think... and many others to. It is what it is.. and my hope & prayer is that all the "decision makers" at Dresden will think of our future, and the big picture. It's crushing and ripping at my heart to say all this, but the truth is the truth. And there is a petition I understand out there to get this process started. Better days can be ahead for Dresden, and will be IF, & ONLY IF the higher ups do what clearly needs done. If they don't, it is no telling how long this demise in Dresden will continue. Maybe back to being bottom feeders & everyone's easy-win homecoming game. If they step up & man up and do the right thing, I have no doubt the proper man will be found to coach our Lions back to the top. What is happening now, the only cure & remedy is a drastic, immediate, & painful surgery.   It may hurt now, but wait until you see how we heal up and recover. IF the tough decisions are made!

Your no Paul Harvey  he gets truth and facts before the story.  Here's the rest of the story for ya  slander, defamation of character are big words and come with a pretty price.  The only cancer here sire is Your self I have sat by long enough and decided tis time do say me thinks  you are a wanna be and a dime a dozen. The rest of the story is your players are injured young players are playing as hard as they can.  Unless you have positive encouragement no on want a to hear more lies.  No matter what YOU will not be a candidate for any coaching openings.
