Good thing about it is Loretto and Summertown’s District cancelled too right?? You fortunate enough to play three. games in Region they will likely be two of  Loretto, Summertown and Huntingdon and a sub-stare game. You will be state ready you make it out. We don’t have a substate game now. Reason I think we need to play District Tournament personally.

Loretto and Summertown are moving on to region. I am not sure what will happen to determine if Wayne County or Collinwood will be a 3 or 4 seed. Yea it will be a tough tough region to get out of to get to state. I believe that we can get it done and it will be amazing if we do.

I personally wouldn’t want my girls not playing before Region. You have to play three in a row at state to win it. I would be afraid that they would get out of shape and get sloppy. McKenzie will likely have 2 weeks off right before you tip it off??

Those are my fears as well. We play the region quarterfinal on Friday.

I don’t think it helps anyone setting out. 13 A will be alive and well and the Tournament to watch. Looking like a possible Geeenfield Gleason matchup at Greenfield I would guess on Tuesday providing Gleason wins their play in. Huntingdon for sure not happy.

Lay offs are bad for teams. Hoping my Lady Rebels are still playing great bball. Wish we could have played our tournament though.... Huntingdon always gives us a tough game and we need that for region play.  Greenfield having home court advantage is huge. Gleason has never played well at Greenfield. Looking forward to that matchup on Tuesday.

If the Fillies can get past Wayne Co which is a big if maybe we can make Summertown sweat a little. Actually we match well with Summertown. Hopefully we can keep it close. Love playing in that big wooden gym. That antique is almost as old as I am.

Y'all do matchup well with Summertown Addison and Singleton have to stay out of foul trouble. Brooklyn Williams has definitely stepped up her play on the defensive side of things and she is key ( I really enjoy watching her play).  I would go with the game plan that the Fillies came out with the lady rebels in the second matchup... Summertown is winnable when y'all matchup with them but you can not turn the ball over.

I have received my 2nd vaccine shot and haven't attended a game all year. I want to see some ball. If I were West Carroll I wouldn't agree to the cancellations. Also I want another shot at McKenzie so I hate the decision.

This is huge on the boys side of the bracket too. That means WC is the 1 Huntingdon-2 and McKenzie-3. West Carroll girls have been up and done all year.. and I wouldn't agree to cancel either. I would have liked to see another round of the rivalry too between the fillies and the lady rebels. Matchups are very important for Huntingdon too in the region.. I imagine there are some very unhappy folks over in Huntingdon.

Definitely, just want to be playing our best ball when it matters the most. Hopefully we can get another shot at that great McKenzie team which would mean we made it to the State Tourney. Good luck to y’all going forward.

Yes that would be awesome to meet again in the state tourney.  Good luck to y'all as well. Bonds and Williams definitely tested our frontcourt.   Our region is just so tough with Loretto and Summertown. I like our chances with Loretto but we don't match up well with Summertown.

13A girls is going to be exciting. Union City is finally rounding into form, playing well, and getting healthy. Home court and only playing back to back will be huge for them. I give them the nod to win the district. The defense has become suffocating, and that with Williams and Bonds will be enough to get the job done this season. I can see them making it to the State Tourney.

Glad to see that they are finally back healthy. They have a great chance to make a run at state but have to take it one game at a time.

You also have boys too. Trenton Peabody’s boys comes to mind. A 5 seed and one that could get hot and win the District. I am with you. Looking like Saturday and that is very wishful thinking. Your a  coach you want them playing quite a bit of ball before state or you want them playing about three times in a month?? Of course we never know who is going to make it, but as a coach you have to think for the future.

The 14a boys tournament will be interesting. Lots of competitive teams in that district that really beat up on each other during the regular season.  I saw where 13a will be playing their tournament on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights. I believe that 13a is a toss up now.. I will say that Gleason has the most depth of any team in that district.. but can they get past Greenfield in the semifinal round?

Arlington messed up big time when they gave Ashley Shields that job................

I spoke with her after the game. She is a very nice and respectful person. She was very complentary of our upstart program. I disagree. She is a proven winner across all levels. Her girls played hard.. never gave up and were very physical. They were probably the most sportsmanlike team we have played all year besides Greenfield.  Arlington will be tough to beat in the postseason.

I said last time they have nobody to guard Madison and Madison had 2 fouls and 0 points in the first half because she sat 1.5. But she still had close to 20 and they won by 14 and was up by 23 or so at times. I will say GC by 15.

Not many single A teams in West Tennessee have anyone to guard her. I think it will be in the 10 to 15 ballpark as well.  I enjoy watching both teams play.. think it will be a great matchup.

  11. Huge win for the Lady Rebels over AAA Arlington tonight 65 to 63. Davis-13 Bennett-12 Auvenshine-11 Dyer-10 to lead the way. Led at half by 6 by Arlington made their push at led at multiple times in the 4th. Our press caused them to turn it over at times which led to easy baskets and 3's. Hats off to Arlington for scheduling us so late in the season, and letting us have a home game. The Taylor sisters are remarkable players and so is #12  Long.

    • Thanks 1
  12. One of the best games I have seen all year. Up 6 at half... Arlington made their push in the second half and even led at times. But our Lady rebels had no signs of quitting in them. Saw some nice things out of our young team tonight but still plenty to work on. It was a great team win. 4 in double figures led by Davis with 13.

I predict McKenzie and Summertown to win their District Tournaments. Going to be really hard for Loretto to beat you guys in the Region, IMO. I watched Loretto and Summertown last night.

I didnt watch it the Loretto game last night... but I watched their first matchup. Summertown is so balanced on both sides of the ball, we would to stay away from them lol. I like our chances with Loretto but I think that we would have a tough time matching up with Kenzie Weathers in the post. I think our guards are quick and athletic enough to contain Karly.

Or why don’t Westview want to play us is the question! Not talking bad about Westview but their coach never schedules any tuff games! They always cakewalk to state & their easy schedule is why they can’t win it after going to state 7 or 8 consecutive years in a row imo! We play people that will play us, Gibson County which is Single A always invite us to play in their Thanksgiving tournament! It has all the toughest teams in Single A & is always a great tournament! Lorotto, Summertown, Gibson County, USJ(private) & Christmas tournament in Dyersburg that is usually tough! Dyersburg, Greenfield, a few Memphis teams! We was going to Florida to play this before COVID-19 came along! Covid didn’t allow us to play in no thanksgiving or Christmas tournament this year. We don’t mind taking losses

We have asked Westview multiple times this year to play us and they have refused. You are 100% percent right about their schedule. I bet since they lost to Henry County in December they will probably drop them  from their schedule in the future too. Westview never wants to play single A teams anymore.... wonder why they wont schedule Gibson County or Greenfield?

That is the Huntingdon team I have been waiting to see. I know they have some talent.

I really liked the Anderson girl for Huntingdon she has moves and a pretty good shot. Singleton struggled with foul trouble and really wasnt a factor. Brooke Butler had a much better game than the first meeting and Brooklyn Williams made some great plays on the defensive side. You can tell that the Fillies are getting better and better each game.
