Huntington and TCA, USJ and Greenfield, Gibson County and Creekwood will be three good one’s.

My bad I completely missed Usj and the jackets, and then GC and Creekwood. I saw where Madison Hart had 40 points Wow! I bet that Greenfield game was good as well, saw that USJ blew a double digit lead to lose in OT

  2. Tuesday November 17th is finally here! The start of the 2020-2021 season. I know there are a lot of interesting games to be played today.

Some games that come to mind:

    Huntingdon at TCA

    Chester county at Hardin county

    McKenzie at Lexington

    Henry county at Stewart County

    Summertown at Eagleville

    Thoughts?

Gonna be a great atmosphere and great game !!!!

It will be! McKenzie folks been talking about this game in the cafes ever since Friday night. McKenzie should bring a rocking and vocal crowd.  Really love yall's facilities  over in Trenton!

  4. Rebel defense looked very good against Aville on Friday! I feel like our team is very confident going into Friday and we feel like we have a chance. I don't post on the football threads much but I post a lot on the girls basketball threads ( that's why you don't see me lol). I know McKenzie will bring a great crowd and I expect this game to be sold out before Friday!

Yeah possibly. I dont really see anybody else being in our region. Me personally would hope we could keep Beech, Haywood, Brentwood, possibly add Milan. Then idk about the last one. That would be my 4 choices if I could.

Milan would be a great program to play year in and year out.  But I would really love to see a Peabody- Henry county matchup. ... think that game could go either way.

  6. Peabody the team to beat out of everyone. I am not going to make a prediction on us rn because of the Adamsville game on Friday. When we go and play Aville on the road.....it usually isnt' pretty. We have always struggled playing there and idk the last time we won?

McKenzie will be a force in 1A for the next 2 to 3 years especially.

Yes we have a great group of athletes in the 8th grade to sophomore range. Middle school football went undefeated. #7 for us should be picking up more offers.. he already has one to Memphis. J. Cassidy has played well at quarterback for us even though he is a sophomore. Bright future ahead.

McKenzie is at what 376 and Huntingdon at 367 from last numbers and you said Huntingdon has some more kids in their numbers. Will be interesting where McKenzie falls. As long as Huntingdon and McKenzie has Wilkins’ coaching them they will be hard to beat. Just the way it is. No kid will play for them unless they play 110%. McKenzie has some talent no doubt and so does Huntingdon. I would assume the kid that came over last year in the middle of the year for Huntingdon that gave Summertown fits will be the PG.  I really think West TN will be as competitive as it has been in years. Don’t think there is just a team that is head and shoulders above the rest. Will be super competitive and fun to watch. Both schools are fortunate they are young and need to keep them around a while.  Pray every night that we will get to play and this stuff will end.

Mckenzie is at 335 now.. we losing kids left and right. Huntingdon in 2a willbe fun to watch.

Mckenzie's last chance this season to beat Huntingdon for the district 13 title. May be a while before we get to compete again. Fillies are going to be better than some people think this year. Coach Wilkins has some good young talent. Going into his second year the kids know what to expect now. We should be a pretty tough out by tournament time. We have good depth and a lot of talent coming up.

The Fillies will be tough but the new singleton girl has to match up with Lilly B... and they have went at it in the fall league at Gibson county.  After this year, the lady rebels will go as far as Savannah Davis takes them tbh.

Possibility. I wouldn’t mind a shake up. Would be no different than having the dreadful drive to Halls

Oh halls and Adamsville are terrible. I will say 2a will be interesting once they reclassify.  Huntingdon, Peabody, Westview matchups will all be fun to watch.

Region 7 will be interesting with the additions of Westview and Camden. Huntingdon needs to be in region 7 instead of 6, so interesting to see what they will do with that

Yes it will. Honestly they may send Camden over to the middle Tennessee region and keep Huntingdon over in 6-2a.

BPM and I are trying to figure that out. Something is odd about Haywood. Also, something is odd about Westview. Never thought Adamsville will have more students than Westview.

The closet school to Haywood is Crocket or Ripley? Has there enrollment went up any? Yea Martin has 10,500 people aint no way they going to be 2a. I know Westview plays single A in soccer and they are McKenzie's best competition in that sport.

Union City will have to learn how to handle press defenses to be the top dog. The games I seen them lose they had major problems with pressure. GC beat them at the end of the Region Semis with their press. But you are right. On paper they will be tough. We will see how they handle tight games. GC will have the best PG on campus since Heather Butler. I am sure with not playing this summer she will have some growing pains but no disrespect to two great PG’s the last two years in Ashton Lannom and Kacey Sweat, but Micah Hart is a player. Kid was scoring double digits in HS games as a 6th grader. She can play. I feel really confident in their team if the Covid Police don’t strike like it did last year.

UC has the talent but sometimes they don't have the discipline.. you are exactly right. I heard nothing but great things about the talent that is coming up for GC the next couple of years.. lots of exciting things happening over there. I know we at McKenzie have a great shooting guard that is going to make an immediate impact in our district and region.

I think you guys should go back to the old formation. I think it’s harder to read the option out of the veer formation. Keep the passes coming though to make it even more unpredictable. I think you guys could beat mckenzie but you will have to keep the ball away and tackle better.
    is number 6 ok ?

Yes he is fine.. should be good to go Friday. Just wish we can keep mixing up the play calls so we don't seem so one dimensional. We have a running back that not many teams around here can stop but last game he only had 3 carries the whole game?  Our defense has played well for the past game and a half as well. union city is always a tough game to play because they run stuff so differently than other teams around here.

With our numbers continuing to go down each year, we will be in 1A for the foreseeable future.  Of course, it also depends where the splits are.  As far as the region, we could get shipped over the river like H’Twon and Bruceton did.
I know Wade is anticipating going to 1A and also that our non-region weeks will not be cupcakes (if we can get them scheduled).

I would be fine being with Htown and Bruceton but I am not looking forward to all the travel.  We do need to keep a tough non region schedule each year (maybe try to get a few tougher ones) It would be great for us to keep playing USJ, i really liked that matchup.
