  1. Dyersburg had a lot of seniors this year, but they always reload. Coach Stowe and company always do a great job.  Covington is going to be loaded this year and lost vey little to graduation, their sophomore class is loaded as well. I don't see Covington taking a step back for a while. Covington also had Westview's number in McConnell's previous stint as well as 3 out of the 4 years of Ty Simpson's high school career. Ripley was pretty young as well and didn't lose much, they will have a larger senior class this year as well. I believe Westview will be good, but to say that these teams won't have a say so would be in injustice. I think it is safe to say that these 4 teams will represent the region in the playoffs most years. I will also say that it will be a sweep in the playoffs and there will be a rematch for some of these teams. Westview almost capitalized on the rematch with Dyersburg this year. It will be a fun region to watch.

Covington won the first matchup and by the looks of the score it looked pretty easy, so my gut tells me to take covington in this one......................................... but Im gonna pull for the underdog! Go Tigers! Shock the world! :thumb:

The game was a little better than the final score indicated last time. If the Tigers want a chance just have to limit mistakes and find some offensive production. Never know they might surprise you, and then again they might not. Guess they did keep the kid at Sheffield in check, only giving up 8 points. Good Luck to both squads.

Torn acl while getting tackled running out of bounds with no time left on the clock in the 2nd quarter against Ripley.

I watched it on youtube, and if it happened right before half, it was in the middle of the field and it looked like he was cutting in to make a move on the over pursuit. To say he was being tackled at the end of half running out of bounds, seems like your almost accusing it of being a dirty play, which it wasn't even close to being. The QB is a competitor and was trying to get another one in before half. Dyersburg is for real.

So, the final standings in Region 7-3A are

    1. Dyersburg

    2. Covington

    3. Westview

    4. Ripley

In our opposing region we have to wait for tonight’s game for the final line-up. Right now it’s

    1. Sheffield

    2. Bolton

    3. Hamilton

    4. Winner of East vs. Raleigh-Egypt

The big question is whether 7-3A can sweep 8-3A. I think it’s probable.

Yes i believe the sweep happens again. 7 3A is a tough region

  5. Westview will be too much for McNairy quick. Region 7 3A has a clear divide based on scores of quality teams in the region. I will say though I am not so sure that Dyersburg will see Westview again this season. Not out of the question, but not a given either. I wouldn't be surprised if it is Covington or even Ripley that Dyersburg faces for a second time in the playoffs. This will be a fun bracket out of the playoffs to watch.

    Covington 42   Ripley 7

Covington has not lost to Ripley in at least 25 years.

Thats what makes high school football great. It doesn't matter what you did last year or that last 25 years against an opponent. Anything can happen in a high school football. I am willing to bet Ripley's team doesn't believe they have zero percent chance to win the game, and if people think the game is decided before games are played, then thats when people get shocked. That is truly why so many of us watch these games with so much intent and excitement this week. Maybe the rivalry gets renewed tonight, maybe not, but I believe this one will be a fun one to watch. Congrats to both teams for a good season so far and best of luck to both moving forward.

  7. I don't know much about Moore Co. this year. McKenzie is not as good as last year and Dresden handled them pretty easily already. MASE's schedule is why i give the edge to Dresden or Union City. They both play a much tougher schedule and are battle tested. The only good opponent on MASE's schedule they lost handily to. Moore County looks to be the toughest out of all the teams you listed. I am only going with recent history when i say the winner of region 7 or that area in 1A has been going to Chattanooga in recent years.

  8. There are still a lot of scenarios that can still play out in this region. I believe right now Dyersburg and Ripley are in for sure in the playoffs with 4 region wins. It will be interesting how this one plays out. Although some might not see it as likely, anything can happen in high school football and that is what makes it fun to watch.

It was a running clock in second quarter, all starters were out at half. Never tried to score second half. They won't be able to stop Donteze. He is a sophomore and already getting looks from SEC schools

I can definitely see this being one of the most athletic secondaries and defenses Westview has seen and will see for the year. It will be an interesting matchup for #1 from Westview. Is the the big # 41 RB back for Ripley? He was a load the last couple years.

From what I’ve seen of y’all this year, I don’t think the Firebirds will be challenged until the ship game in Chat. PC the goods this year!

I agree, Pearl Cohn is the cream of the crop on the West side of the bracket. They will walk to Chatt this year. Don't be surprised if they bring the gold ball back this year as well. They bring so much experience back off of that team that pushed a very good Anderson County to the brink last year.

Westview starts Region play back up this Week. Need to stay focused on this game and not look ahead to next week against Dyersburg. Ripley is improved from last year but Westview is clicking on all cylinders now Westview wins 49 to 14.

Westview beats Ripley by the same margin they beat Liberty by? Curious what made you predict that?
