  1. I’ll take Hampton... if they have speed enough for that Lewis kid on the edge.

Last year almost no one held him under 100.  I think he had yards against HV but HV out muscled them and the only other ones were  JC and  Alcoa.   I remember he was number one in NET until week 10 and that Cole kid got him.

However, last year he had a better support staff.  SG seems to have figured him out as well.

Did Unaka move the ball on Hampton in their Jamboree or was somebody bs’n me?  I heard that...and then saw the GP score the other night and was wondering if it was related or that was Hampton’s JV.

Fritz is hilarious. I remember a column a few years ago explaining why Elizabethton was going to compete with and maybe overtake Alcoa when they were still in AAA.

Yeah, I remember.  They actually gave them a good game once. (In Elizabethton’s defense).  That was a good Betsy team and an average (but still awesome) Alcoa team if I remember right.  I’m sure one of the Alcoa boys will let us know.  LOL

Fritzy’s next favorite is Unicoi. (Usually b-ball). However this year he was giving 5 star ratings to Unicoi for their performance against such football giants as North Green and Unaka.

He sometimes throws a bone to Science Hill, to keep his readers happy...  He should write for the Elizabethton Star.

I have yet to figure out how anyone who writes for any Tennessee paper and  has seen Greeneville, Tennessee on a map and still not think Greeneville is in the NET or upper east Tennessee area.

You can blame Doug “Fritzabethton” in the Johnson City Press for that.  He wants Elizabethton’s star to shine a little brighter before the big Greene extinguishes it-for good.

Ha ha we lost but we had the ball with  8 min to go and up 8 points and lost.  Turnovers

Yeah, I was surprised. You guys had AE and the turnovers killed you.

If you guys make it past GP (which I believe could happen) AE will be a more difficult game for you this year, due to inexperience.  Earlier in the year I read that you lost almost all of your starters from last year on both sides of the ball.  You were picked to finish third in the District-if that.  Yet- you still managed to have a very good season.  That’s hard to do...anywhere.

I’m impressed with the progress your head coach is making up there.

-Back to the topic at hand-

Everyone can talk smack all they want but all 3A roads end at the same place...region 1 just gets there first.

I am going with the Horns on this one. I think GP may have the edge when it comes to a tougher schedule and maybe even a few more athletes. However, Johnson County got that fire going with back to back conference championships. its going to be tough on ole GP traveling up in the real mountains of East Tennessee and pulling it out with all those horn fans in their ear. I go with JC 28 GP 24.

I’m with you.  I like JC’s speed/defense  They held that Unicoi’s Lewis #9 to 72 yards.  His average was over ten yards a carry until Johnson County.

WE KNOW,  DON'T THINK WE HAVE A 4 6. I THINK THIS MAY BE YOUR 1ST EVER PLAYOFF WIN IF YOU DO, . YOUR FANS NEED THIS BUT YOU WILL WORK FOR IT

In the playoffs last year, they beat Northview and had a good lead on Austin East...before an acute case of fumble-itis.

They can win until they meet Alcoa-but that is everyone.
