  1. East slightly improved from last year...but it won’t be enough. E-Town...easy.
  2. Upset. AE for the win. Just kidding. AE has some athletes, but they make too many mistakes...even deep into their season. If that changes-it’s possible.
  3. I’ll take Hampton... if they have speed enough for that Lewis kid on the edge. Last year almost no one held him under 100. I think he had yards against HV but HV out muscled them and the only other ones were JC and Alcoa. I remember he was number one in NET until week 10 and that Cole kid got him. However, last year he had a better support staff. SG seems to have figured him out as well. Did Unaka move the ball on Hampton in their Jamboree or was somebody bs’n me? I heard that...and then saw the GP score the other night and was wondering if it was related or that was Hampton’s JV.
  4. I think this will be a tough one for the Landers.
  5. Not a HV person-just providing commentary. I could also say the same about Cloudland’s best player-just one player-who happens to be your offensive leader.
  6. Yeah...the players that HV lost to Elizabethton was enough to lower their enrollment.
  7. Yeah, AE’s going down-mercy rule by second half.
  8. Fritzabethton gonna Fritzabethton. He was trying to make Betsy look better. It is easy to see...when you’ve read his articles for a long time.
  9. Read that a min ago-good article. It was a smart move and it saved HV’s season.
  10. Yeah, I remember. They actually gave them a good game once. (In Elizabethton’s defense). That was a good Betsy team and an average (but still awesome) Alcoa team if I remember right. I’m sure one of the Alcoa boys will let us know. LOL Fritzy’s next favorite is Unicoi. (Usually b-ball). However this year he was giving 5 star ratings to Unicoi for their performance against such football giants as North Green and Unaka. He sometimes throws a bone to Science Hill, to keep his readers happy... He should write for the Elizabethton Star.
  11. You can blame Doug “Fritzabethton” in the Johnson City Press for that. He wants Elizabethton’s star to shine a little brighter before the big Greene extinguishes it-for good.
  12. Yeah, I was surprised. You guys had AE and the turnovers killed you. If you guys make it past GP (which I believe could happen) AE will be a more difficult game for you this year, due to inexperience. Earlier in the year I read that you lost almost all of your starters from last year on both sides of the ball. You were picked to finish third in the District-if that. Yet- you still managed to have a very good season. That’s hard to do...anywhere. I’m impressed with the progress your head coach is making up there. -Back to the topic at hand- Everyone can talk smack all they want but all 3A roads end at the same place...region 1 just gets there first.
  13. You sir...are over the target... Hope you read this “skippin witten”.
  14. Kingston is looking better than I thought. Do they run the Wing-T? However, If they lose the edge to that Lewis Kid, he will take it to the house. Interesting game...could go either way. I give Kingston the edge on “schedule difficulty”.
  15. “Hard hittin Witten” doesn’t want to play Alcoa? I thought that was what the “Return to Dominance” campaign was all about? Or RTD as they called it a few years back.
  16. I’d be shocked if he did. I’d be there watching if it happened!
  17. If Betsy hadn’t moved up to avoid Alcoa...Region 1 would have been a bit more interesting. However, they ran into Greenville instead... Region 1 AAA needs another team-(I think they have six). As for Claiborne vs Alcoa-Sucks for both teams.
  18. Yeah, that muddy field has claimed many bigger, faster, and stronger teams over the years-including my own!
  19. Sounds like Greeneville hurt some feelings in here.
  20. I’m with you. I like JC’s speed/defense They held that Unicoi’s Lewis #9 to 72 yards. His average was over ten yards a carry until Johnson County.
  21. I know it is hard for the locals and the die-hards but a coach should always be hired/fired on his fourth year results. Well, unless it is a total disaster.
  22. Things are a little more interesting here than I thought they would be.
  23. In the playoffs last year, they beat Northview and had a good lead on Austin East...before an acute case of fumble-itis. They can win until they meet Alcoa-but that is everyone.
