Not gonna lie, I was so proud of our o line especially on that last drive. Covington played hard and had a great game plan. Congrats to them. I thought before the game covington would focus on chewing the clock, Alcoa had the ball 3 times when the 4th quarter started.

I’d be okay with that....good thing the refs only allow 11 from each team on the field at a time....and I counted the boys today....52....they must have the freshman dressing out as well
Game day boys, let's go take care of business! Good luck to all who play today, & hope for an injury free game on both sides! GO TORNADOES! TORNADO WARNING IN EFFECT!

Sounds like the rules you have in place are the same ones Alcoa has. Don’t believe everything you hear. The Alunimum Company hasn’t been at that kind of capacity for years. Lol! That’s just haters doing a little hating. With the Alcoa school system being as good as it is, plus the addition of the new high school, along with the feeder programs, great community support, great coaching staff with winning tradition, Alcoa doesn’t have to offer too many job opportunities. Families want their kids to attend Alcoa and the players want to play. Sounds like Covington has a great school and great community support. Keep that up and the program will continue to grow.

Well said my friend. I’m looking forward to see Convington and compare them with us. They surprised me last year in the championship. Good luck to both teams and hope both teams play their best games of the season.
Thanks crow!

Maybe the other way around! Seriously what time you wanna get to the stadium and I'll meet ya there. I'll even give ya my phone number
Sir, I don't know who you are or who you pull for, but the upperman fans, & players that hosted us last Friday night were very classy people unlike yourself. Upperman, you all have a great program with some great kids,& parents, I'm sure the school staff have to be great also because of the way we were treated Friday night. Great experience because they made it that way. Enjoyed our time there, great atmosphere.two great teams played, hard fought game on both sides, so please stop trying to take away what these two teams accomplished this season.again, great game bees, work harder in the off season & come back at it again next year.hats off too you! As far as you big Mac, leave this thread for these great Covington fans & Alcoa fans to enjoy jabbing at each other & trying to guess who's gonna take who on Saturday, let them enjoy championship week. Good luck to Covington players, hope for a injury free game on both sides! GO TORNADOES!!!

Throwdeslant you might be more successful if your quarterback would throw de slant more!!! Glad y'all play those cupcake schools in the east all the time. Don't get me wrong but when you come west this past Friday night your coach was saying y'all were lucky to get out of Baxter with a win. It sure wasn't a 56-0 over Kingston or Claiborne County or Unicoi County or Scott County give me a break. Our district had 3 top 10 teams in the State.
Yep, & we beat you cup cake

Press and attention for a OL is a two-edged sword. It is wonderful when earned; but can come back to haunt you when you misstep. I have experienced this pain as well as all of my sons in their careers. A perfect example was the press given to the Catlick OL when they posted on Twitter that they were the best high school OL in the state. Then proceeded to fall flat on their faces the next few games.
I strongly feel they should be praised and celebrated when they consistently perform well. However, as soon as that occurs, every player must know the target is now on their back and any shortfall will pointed out in brutal fashion.
This is a very good OL. They have encountered much better DEs, DL and LBs. This last game is a wake up call to pour on the steam. If they do so, they will dominate Saturday and be remembered as a great OL.
Hammer, your support has been critical to the mental development of this unit. I applaud your tremendous efforts and dedication to these young men.
Great post sir! I remember the Catholic thing, & this is a very good o line & I hope they do pour on the steam! & hammer is relentless in his effort.

To this Sr class of Greenback football i want to say congratulations on being the most successful CLASS in Greenback history! Our 87 team is still the only 15-0 team in our history in a time where 1A football was the best and hardest in my opinion but no one can take away or add to what you all have accomplished. Not very many teams in the history of our State in our division have done what you have.2 silver balls,1 Gold ball and 4 semi final appearances in a row.I take my hat off to you all! This thread isnt to say "almost","if we had" or anything of that nature just to say thank you for carrying the torch for all of us.And big thx to the coaching staff for getting them in position to be the best and letting them play.Until next year then we will see if we can compete again.Again thanks and it was a fun run!
Great post!

He’s definitely gonna be that caliber of player but with this new setup, it’s gonna be hard for a lineman to get it. Think they should’ve left it the way it was.
