If the current forecast for Gordonsville during game hours holds true there’s around a 65% chance of rain.  Turney Ford has a nice stand of bermuda that should hold up well, but IF things get sloppy who does it favor, if either team at all?

Now don’t your be doing no rain dances! Our little slow fellers might completely sink if they get in the mud cause they ain’t strong enough to get out!

Some of our local legends to be sure!  I always wondered how things would have gone over the years if Coach Richardson would have been around longer.

Boar  I am guessing you are a bit younger than to have played during that time period? Coach Richardson was a good man.  83 was a year we played twice, I was still in Jr High. I do believe we went up there either the last or next to last game of the season and lost a tough one. Then came back and avenged that loss.

There could be a book written about the old days and some of the characters around.

I sure didn't know who main street was until this post,  but I do now. I'm glad you found your way here so you can vent some way other than Facebook.

Hey if it needs to be said I let her rip! Gimme a Fullback, TE and a tailback  7 yards deep! Lol

Pepper I been here a long time. Just forgot password so I said what better handle for somebody that grew up in the glow of Turney Ford Field.

No doubt!  The score actually was 2-0 back in 1974.  Dawgs on top though.  Gville is Celina’s second most played opponent, with Monterey being the first.  Y’all are dominating the series.

Lol I started attending Tiger Games that year!  We may be dominating the seriea but there’s been some good ones along the way.  My Sophomore year, 85 we got popped right in the chops all night long.  That bunch were  beasts!  I got a lot of memories of some of the Dawgs through the years.  Them Reecer boys must have played from the time they left the womb. Ogletree played rugged! Hull was as good a RB you boys ever had. I mean Arms, Strong, Watson. I was truly sad when the Coach from that time period passed away! Always friendly wherever you saw him and dear lord he had forearms like tree trunks!

I know that Clay’s opponents have been less than stellar, but I find it hard to believe that the Tigers will put up anymore than 21 in this one.  Dawg D is pretty darn good.  That being said Gville QB is a definite X Factor.  I’ve been impressed with that young man since I saw him play up as an 8th grader, he’s a stud.  When we won in ‘19 he was out with a broken foot, I believe it was.

If we out there 28 up I feel really good. Mike D is gonna have them fellers eating gunpowder this week! I’ll take 2-0!

I thought so. I vaguely remember it.

When will we be healthy? I counted more than 10 kids out last week. They better get a lot better in a hurry then.

We’ve had the injury bug quite a bit this year but are finally getting healthy as well now just to stay that way is the key.
I got a feeling you boys will be just fine and flying around like always.

Sp is very inexperienced up front. We have had several starters out as well ( I believe 7 last week )   From the sound of things Gordonsville and Clay are playing good ball at the moment.  One game at a time for us.  Yalls game Friday should be a barn burner.

Well I hope its a good one. I also hope whichever one comes out short realizes this one is important but it don’t end your season.

You boys still got athletes and a lot of games are lost to y’all the first time a kid ever experiences the speedtrack and them dang railbirds!

Most weren't happy with Jones decision on that before the game was played but after I think most were happy with the way SP performed.

Sp is getting better each week just hope we can get some guys healthy for the playoffs. Sounds like we've got two very tough teams coming out of region 4 hoping we can make it a ball game with whoever comes too the speedway.

Don’t start that hope you make it a game mess! Lol We just hope yo get down that way again.  Plus I got a feeling Coalfield is better than they showed against us.

You could have had the balls to schedule Oakland with all the non region games you get like SP did. Did your coach pump Coach Jackson for his gameplan and tendencies on SP?

I don't like the waterboys but I do respect them.

I think  you might be the gordy Radio guy.

Don’t know if Clem and Jackson talked or not. Wouldn’t surprise me none.

I never said I didn’t like Watertown folk. Most of them are good people plus the head man over there is like a brother to a lot of us away from this game.

No Jimmy I ain’t the radio guy. I’m better looking than he is.

Just a guess and seriously ain’t trying to offend anyone. You played your gridiron career somewhere other than Hartsville didn’t ya?

He isn't the radio guy, but he did have an interview earlier in the year.

As far as scheduling Oakland, I've seen where a lot of people weren't happy with Jones doing that. I don't believe it's "having balls" but "lacking brains" with that decision.

Croz  you done ruined it I was fixing to get my little buddy back!

Jones definitely put the screws to our patch-eyed buddies  from the Valley.  Must be he thought he was in Canada.

Not once have I mentioned anything about H2O on this thread other than to answer @jimmycrackedthatcorn question. Are we in your head?

I’ve read all the way through this thread and all these Celina posters have been tactful regarding their post, but you in particular have been nothing but conceded with your responses … acting like it’s offensive for Celina to think they have a chance to win and have some players!

Look… we’ve seen both of you and from what I seen I think Celina is a better team. ( some would disagree with me)

Those kids on that Celina team I assure you aren’t intimidated by the 2 state championships you won years ago. They could care less.

Now if you want to make the argument that it may help your kids have played more bigger games than Celina recently … I won’t argue…

Quit trying to act like you guys are something that you’re not or you might ( I would bet that you will)  get humbled Friday.

Aint being conceited (notice the spelling thats conceit) towards Celina in no form. If it came off that way to them I apologize.  I hope those boys nothing but the best all the way after this Friday night.  I d love to see the Bulldogs twice this year. If it was up to me we’d go back to three classes and two teams make the playoffs from each district.

If we get humbled so be it. Won’t be first or last time. I’ll tip my cap and thats all that matters. Might not like it but thats the way it is.

I’m on the radio crew.  Thanks for the compliment, we have fun with it.  I don’t believe either of my constituents posts on the T.

I do try and catch you boys on a stream when my bunch ain’t playing.  Tell our radio crew their buddy from up in the frigid tundra says treat you boys good or they’ll have an unhappy old man!

Also tell Dickerson take it easy Friday night  and an old friend way up in NY says hello. He’ll know or least he better!

I like the comparison you made earlier in this thread regarding y’all being the same caliber as Hartsville and SP… I about spit my drink out!!!  LMAO

When was the last time you beat either of them???

Let’s keep it real here, Celina has just as much chance of beating either one of them than Gordy has in the last 9 years.

PS: I will see how much cap tipping is going on from Gordy if Celina takes the wheels off that wagon Friday!

Sorry The comparison is that we actually have won a State Championship, 2 in football exactly. I should have clarified better. How many do y’all have?

Celina has got a shot at probably beating South Pitt just like they got a shot at us.

I must have really missed a lot cause I sure have missed the date Watertown ever became King Kong.
