If Boone wins it will be a 3 way tie for first. I believe crockett wins conference due to overall wins.

Cherokee gets the win Tennessee High gets a no contest. Could be huge if Boone wins tonight 3 way tie I believe tiebreaker is overall number of wins

If TN high doesn’t play by their choice, then since it’s conference games, it’s considered a loss unless I misunderstood the rules.  Only no contest if not a conference game

Boone has played over their heads just a bit. They lost their star RB Charlie Cole in the 1st game of this season but his replacement Brennan Blair has made that look like a negligible loss for the Trailblazers. South-Doyle has beaten some really good teams the 2nd half of the season.

They blew out Gibbs earlier in the season 62-17. They beat a really good Knox Central team 38-10. They lost to Powell by 3 points 15-12 to end the regular season. They also beat a good Knox Halls team 49-21. I just don't see Boone being able to stay with the Cherokees. I say South-Doyle 42 Daniel Boone 21.

Not sure they’ve played over their heads.  They played a very tough schedule.  Their 4 losses were all to highly ranked teams at the time.  I’m not sure they can hang for 4 quarters but I think they keep it close. Most predicted Halls would come into Boone and win and we know how that turned out.  Boone keeps it close but the run may end here for a year that overall turned into a very good season.  Those kids have played their hearts out - and to be the only Region 1 team left standing says a lot

Hey guys, I just found out something.....    Not only is Cole playing tonight, but Nick Saban and his entire staff secretly flew in here on Monday to work with the team and they will be calling the plays from the obscurity of the booth tonight.     Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone.....

Guess saban is in town. Now everyone knows.  Well, at least cole is playing.

He has been messing with everybody for weeks saying he is going to play in that week's game.    But yeah it would be hilarious to see him dress out and do warmups, you would see the Knox coaches huddling up plotting strategy.      For that matter we could  get any kid to wear #4 and go thru warmups!

Yes.  I think he’ll dress out.  Just for the heck of it.   Only imagine what the season would’ve been with him healthy and Blair playing all year like he has lately.  Still a great year but I think at least 2 of those loses are wins if he played.

I’ve been to practice all week and to be very honest, it hasn’t been mentioned a single time. I’m aware and I’m sure our coaches are aware but we’re not focusing on that. We have to play better than we did last week, plain and simple. We are very aware of Crockett’s passing attack but are also aware that Joiner the RB can be deadly also. They also have a pretty decent defense. Tough all around team, we expect a great challenge.

Fair enough.  I think if Knox gets an early lead, you can take some mental focus away from Crockett.  They haven’t played well from behind last few games.  I’m a region 1 fan- Boone obviously- but I’d like nothing more than to see the teams from up this way do well. That said, if Crockett gets behind, from what I’ve seen over past few weeks, they start making some bad decisions and bad penalties.   Close game, 35-28 Knox.  Even though I’d like to see the upset.

Same here Dawg, looked good in practice this week. Hopefully we carry the same sense of urgency into the game tomorrow.

From your comments and all, I’m guessing you are a Knox central fan at least.  Haven’t seen much of them this year but question I have is are they aware that Larkin could set the passing record tomorrow night and is that a focus for them to try to not let happen or is the focus on winning regardless of the passing record.  Both teams are talented. Both come in on losing streaks.  I give the home team the edge.  Especially in first round.

You guys have all the tradition and history on your side by virtue of being in Knox County.     I know it is hard to understand but up here in the Tri-cities people are always saying things like:  "Good season, boys, but it's going to end at the Knox Co. line..."      -OR-     "There is just something magical that happens when you cross over into Knox County...."      .... etc..

Keep hearing rumors Cole will play.  Do you have inside information that he isn’t?  Have heard from several different places. I think Boone wins either way, but just him being on the field would be a huge benefit- I think he at least takes a few snaps but I don’t know. Boone wins 28-14

Imagine if we had Blair + Cole, what could have been......

Those 4 loses would be different I’d say- I think they could’ve beat Elizabethton with both and the TN high game would’ve been closer.  I’d still like to see Cole at least get a few times on the field next week but doubtful.  I think it would’ve been 8-2 season.  Possibly won the region.  Halls is a good team but I think the momentum Boone has will carry them on but looking at the bracket, they’d probably head to South Doyle unless Cherokee could pull a huge upset.  I think Boone and TN high only R1 teams that win.

Boone lost 4 games in a row to Greeneville, Tenn High, Elizabethton, Dobyns-Bennett.   All 4 of them were at the time ranked in the top 10 in their respective classes.    We lost those games by a combined 139-26, but it could just have easily have been 200-26 because they all started playing 2's/3's in the 2nd half.      So Boone has lost the games we were supposed to lose and won the games we were supposed to win (except Crockett, we were not figured to win that one).    How well can we compete against Knoxville-ish teams this year?     Every year I am hopeful only to be disappointed.    The biggest difference I can see is that Knoxville-ish teams have an overall team speed that is unlike anything we have in the Tri-cities area.    I don't mean a handful of fast guys, every guy across the board is just way faster, and that seems to be the difference each year, that and depth.     Since 1971 Boone has only won one game against a Knoxville-ish team so our track record is not good, however I'm pulling for the Blazers this Friday against a very solid Halls team.   Haven't seen any Halls fans on here but hopefully one of them can give us a little X's and O's about the team.   Just thankful to have made a home playoff game...

I think Boone and TN high both have legit chances at wins.  I would’ve said Crockett too but I’m not sure now.  Crockett should be playing mad but Knox central will be playing mad too.  Cherokee will be lucky to score.  I think Boone wins especially if they can keep grinding it out on the ground. Who would’ve thought Blair would be their 1000 yard rusher?   They look pretty good for next year as far as offensive side.

Exactly what I have been saying since Friday. I really hope Larkins breaks the state record in passing yards I believe he’s 516 away. Boone wins 35-21

I think he needs over 300 against Mo East to have a chance.  If they draw Knox central first round, they’ll do their best to keep him from getting it.

Crockett will drill Mo East things are down at Morristown this year. Don’t overlook Cherokee come Friday night. Was that a stupid play call Crockett ran on the last play call? Be honest.

Boone / Cherokee close first half.  Boone pulls away second.  I would’ve went with what got me 7 wins and that’s Larkins arm not trick play.  Boone almost looked like they knew it was coming.

Nothing is settled yet, Boone still needs a win against Cherokee, and I would put that game at 50/50.      We have had an average season, but our losses (Greeneville, Tennessee High, Elizabethton, Dobyns Bennett) have been blowouts.     I am not sure we can hang with any Knoxville-ish team but sure would rather have a home playoff game than away.       You are right about Crockett, their D is probably not as good as their O, but they still have a very good team so don't overlook them, they proved last year that they can play with the best in Knoxville.      Tennessee High is better than most people think and I could see them winning the first playoff game.

I think if they play with the same energy they did against Crockett, they can at least be around til the second round.  I think they need to start fast Friday night to show there’s no hangover affect.   The loses were blowouts but I’ve got friends associated with Dobyns Bennett and Elizabethton both and they said Boone was one of the most physical teams they played all year.

A few weeks ago, after the Boone/TennHigh game, I did not think Boone would win another game.   And now here we are vs. Cherokee.     This game seems 50/50 to me, could go either way.     If Boone shows up and plays inspired then I feel good about our chances, but there is no way I am counting Cherokee out.      Now, if MoEast beats Crockett.....  Okay, that just is NOT going to happen, no way no how.       Well....  actually MoEast nearly beat Boone a few weeks ago, the game ended with them on about the 10 yard line and they just ran out of time.      So I would say that if Crockett can get up on them do not let up under any circumstances, play the starters until the final whistle and take no chances, they have a couple of very shifty players that can burn you if you get lazy..... That's what happened to us.

Boone wins a close one.  I think they have great momentum going into playoffs. First round looks like TN vs Knox hall at TN.  Boone vs Gibbs at Boone.  Crockett vs Knox Central at central and Cherokee vs south Doyle at south Doyle.  I think all 4 have a shot at a first round win.  Would drive the Knoxville people crazy if it happened.  Then it would be TN vs Cherokee and a Boone/ Crockett rematch.  That would be a great scenario

If Cherokee wins and Morristown east wins Crockett misses playoffs.

No way that happens.  Even if by some off chance Cherokee beats Boone no way Mo East beats Crockett.  I say Boone and Crockett both win.  TN -1. Boone- 2. Crockett-3. Cherokee -4.  And I’ll be rooting for all 4 come November 8th-
