Don't mind him... he's just a D-B hater cause they beat Crockett in pretty much everything they play in. He won't have to worry about it no more though except for football the next two year cycle. They're dropping down a class. I'm sure they'll schedule another cupcake they can get an easy win against.

However.... I get it. The William Blount fans are mad. They feel like this is the second year in a row they got shafted. I don't blame the refs though. I blame the WB football concession stand lady. It's obvious she wanted them to lose so she didn't have to fix any more team meals this season, so she put the voodoo on them so they would lose.

Monday in Kingsport.

We (D-B) are definitely nowhere close to last year's title team talent wise. Gillespie and Stump are the only two starters left from last year's team. The category where I would put us above most anyone else is coaching. Poore knows how to get everything out of what he has probably 80% of the nights we take the floor. However it's those other 20% of nights, like Boone in the district tournament for example, where we take things for granted and slip up and get knocked off the pedestal.

Not sure, being a D-B fan, who I want to play out of this game. Already played Karns and got it handed to us. Didn't have the full roster for that game, but we would have lost even if we did. Maybe playing them again, we've learned and adjusted. Willy B has been one of the top ranked teams in 4A all year...

Morristown West must have been much better than anyone was giving credit for. Was surprised to see it was only a three point game. Either way, win or lose tomorrow, back to the sectional for the fourth consecutive year I believe. Tomorrow will be tough against the Smoky Bears. Monday will be even tougher against either Karns, who we've already got spanked by this year, or Slick Willy B.

Surprised this hasn't been brought up yet in a thread. Haven't seen any videos, just going by tweets I read that said the remainder of the game was played without fans. Anybody see it who can comment on it? What is the fallout from it?

On a side note... congratulations to West Ridge on winning the district tournament. My daughter goes there so I ain't a wolf hater like maybe some D-B folks are... Actually I don't think too many D-B folks hate WR (yet), I think the hate in that rivalry may be all one sided. A potential region semifinal between D-B and West Ridge with a sectional bid on the line may sell out the TAC next Tuesday.

Yes it was the first time I've really cared about it since Vince Carter back in the day. I picked him to win from the moment it was announced he would be in it. When I covered Ridgeview in SWVA, he did the East Bay funk dunk in a game against us that made SC Top 10. May have even been number 1, can't quite remember. Dude is out of this world.

Yeah. Raise your hand if you thought West Ridge would be at home and D-B on the road in the first round of region. Definitely made it a hard road for ourselves for sure. Especially if we lose to Crockett too and have to go to most likely Sevier County. But we were almost in the same situation last year. Lost to Science Hill in the district tournament and had to beat the second best team in the Region in Morristown East in the semifinals. We're still ok. Just can't afford no more slip ups like last night.

D-B loses to Boone tonight 71-63 in the district tournament and will have to go on the road in the Region to Morristown East or to Sevier County. Wow.

Nope. Baseball time in Johnson City.

They have to get through Boone tonight at the TAC before D-B will have to worry about them. If they don't, the Hill will be getting out the baseballs.

They won in a ridiculously low scoring game 38-36.

Speaking of someone in danger of not making the regional... wonder when the last time Science Hill didn't at least get to the regional in both boys and girls in the same season. Both are in danger of not making it as both have to play the play in game in the D1-4A tournament Monday. The boys play Daniel Boone who has the state's top scorer and the girls play D-B who started 0-6 in the conference and were looking abysmal but all of a sudden have found something as they've beaten #6 3A Greeneville, beat Science Hill by 34 and beat regular season champion Crockett in three of their last four.

Oops I said Region 2 here... I meant District 2. My bad.

I said it in the 4A contender thread that I made last week... I don't have that "gut" feeling like I did last year that we'll get back to the Boro this year. Last year I was 99% confident we'd get there. Now I was like 1% thinking we'd actually win the whole thing, but getting there I didn't think would be an issue last season. This year, getting to the substate and even hosting it shouldn't be a problem. Region 2 is very weak with the exception of maybe Sevier County. I believe one of the Region 2 teams get us though. Oak Ridge and William Blount are both pretty stout and perhaps Hardin Valley is a sleeper in there as well.

Is Karns 4A? I was thinking they were 3A. We played Karns at their place early in the year and they smoked us. We played that game without two starters but that wasn't the difference in us winning or losing that one. They were just better that night.
