Baker had 25 pts, 10 rbs, and 8 assists against Sequoyah.

Last night against Kingston he had 37 pts, 11 rbs, and 9 assists.

Newman had 22 pts and 13 rbs against Kingston.

We are playing alright as team right now and getting some good minutes out of some freshman (Huckabey and Owens). Just hope we can be consistent over the next couple of weeks. If we come ready to play against Central on Friday, it will be a good game.

That is seriously Mr b-ball looking stats from baker. I said in a previous post tht he is a stat stuffer in many ways other than scoring and that proves it. If meigs plays well they’re scary, being consistent seems to have been the problem

Armstrong did a wonderful job of planning for this game.  Loudon, in my opinion,  does not have a exceptional  consistent shooter, they have scorers.  I am not saying they don't have kids that can knock it down from time to time, but I see it as their weakness.  Armstrong exploited this and it paid off.  He forced them to beat him from the perimeter and the boys did a great job of rebounding.  Loudon loves taking it to the rim and that was taken away for the most part.  I felt also that the kids played hard defensively this game along with a good shooting game, which Central has the potential to do.  Like I said, I still believe overall Loudon and Sweetwater are the favorites, but as seen, this district can end in many different ways.

who does central have tomorrow night logcabinman? their win over loudon is very impressive

This District is wide open. Central pulls away in the 4th quarter tonight. Thought Loudon shot terrible and got out rebounded by the Chargers. The tournament going to be very interesting.

Yeah I’ll be honest I have no idea what to think of the district right now...

I think it's more parity this year in 6-AA than it has been in the past. Five out of 8 teams could win district tournament. Howard has been the biggest surprise this year. East Ridge has more seniors(7/8) than any team and that is always a plus! Brainerd may not be as good as last year but still athletic as usual! Red Bank just finished beating Brainerd for the 2nd time last week. Tyner is the deepest team even though the majority of the team are sophomores and juniors. Like I said before it will depend on which team will be peaking in about a month!!

Keep us posted pls on how district 6 continues to play out.

My opinion on 5 come tournament time:

    1. Sweetwater. Oggs is best pure athlete in district and the other two good players didnt show up against Loudon

    2. Loudon. #5 is most underrated player in the district and small (#20) is great player as well. Graves is the best coach in the district

    3. Meigs. Watched them couple times this yr. Baker is best pure ball player in district. Stat stuffer (not just talking abt pts). Post needs to stay out of foul trouble.

    4. Polk. Burrows is great scorer an their D is better than it looks

    5. Central. Very big and long. Some the bigs aren’t very athletic tho

    6. Seq. Can score but NO defense

    just my opinion

He is a heck of a player. He had Kile, Billingsley, Long, and Oggs all taking turns guarding him, so he had fresh legs guarding him almost the whole time. Still finished with 27 pts.

Congratulations SW. Great team. Great program.

Watched him play prob three times this year. Would be district mvp no doubt but meigs record prob isn’t good enuf, so idk if he will get it

    27-24 Meigs at the half

I traveled over to meigs to watch (never remember to post during game). Sweetwaters trio was just to much for Baker to overcome. He fights like no other in the district. Plus didn’t help tht the post was in major foul trouble

What in the heck is going on!Word is Jason Vance (school board) has called the principle and asked that coach Graves be fired.Vance has a Freshman son on team that undoubtly got passed over for a dress spot and now he is seeing red.Loudon folks please sort this out.

The community seems to be behind the coach and Standing Tall and fighting hard. The same type situation happened in 2007 when coach Tony Williams was ousted at Lenoir City High School for typically the same reasons.I'm worried another great young coach is going to get canned over politics. That county is one of the worst I've ever seen or heard about!

Crazy stuff!!! Graves is a rlly good guy and doesn’t deserve this. They will keep him I think

I can help.  MCentral has won 4 games this year.  Meigs, Bledsoe, Seq., and Midway.  Didn't play well at all in Christmas tourney, then come back and played Walker Valley off of break.  In my opinion they should have a better ball team this year, but for what ever reason just are not gelling together.  Baker from Meigs had an off night Central game, allowing the Chargers to pull away.  Chargers are inconsistent but can pose a problem if they can play like I know they are capable.

thank u for the insight on the chargers logcabin man. I always like reading ur analysis during football season. Please keep this thread updated if you dont mind. I think central has some potential as they are really big

Are you going to the game tonight? If so keep us updated.

Loudon beats the cats by 2 in a great, great game. #5 the point guard carried loudon all the way to the end and got the job done. Hats off to loudon. They are in sole position of #1 in the district

I was thinking Loudon, but after I watched them against Meigs. I think Sweetwater wins.

I’m slightly biased towards the cats, but I’ve been impressed w loudon. Maybe meigs has just gotten a lot better and they’re closer to the top two than people think?? Just a thought. Expecting a GOOD game

Very poor officiating both ways. Some of the worst calls I’ve ever seen. But both teams played hard Loudon hit some big threes to keep in front, it was a good game.   I’m afraid district 5 is in trouble come Region play. After watching Tyner and Brainerd at the best of preps. But I think Loudon Sweetwater or Meigs could win the district tournament. Meigs gets two players back next week and that will help.

I’m afraid you r right. That’s always the case come region play with district 6. I said if meigs keeps it under 10 I would be impressed and boy forcing overtime at their place has to give them confidence if they play in the tourney

Tough schedule after Holidays for the Chargers....Walker Valley. Bradley and McMinn for starters plus District games vs Sweetwater, Loudon and Meigs in Decatur. Need to be more consistent in all phases to be successful

Please keep us updated on how the chargers are playing throughout the next few weeks

I think Newman is the big post player? If so he should be a factor especially if Baker is hitting some shots from three and getting to the hoop on the dribble. Hard for HS to defend a team committed to getting the ball in the post.

Welcome charger64! I assume ur a central fan? How’s the central boys looking going into the second half of the yr?

Meigs did good at Harriman to, they are on a 6 game winning streak.

Jus looked at meigs schedule and boy they got three tough games right out of the gate. @Loudon @walkervalley and Sweetwater. If they keep it under 10 against loudon I’ll be impressed

just think loudon is very athletic at every spot
