Using the term great was exactly where he went wrong with that comment. Improved yes, but Stratford has only beaten other horrendous teams. Hate to be the realist of bad news.

You sir live on the metro chat, yet you talk about schedules and your so called powerhouse team schedule the same horrendous teams year in and year out. Grow a sack and play somebody reasonable . Glencliff, republic , Maplewood , HL , whites creek , Lawson , Stratford should never be on your schedule ... same routine year in and out , terrible schedule 9-1 10-0 , 2nd round exit

East will lose 8 players, which only 1 player got playing time from last years team. So yeah that’s pretty young if you ask me!

This is definitely incorrect  . Quit looking for sympathy. They lifted weights, they had structure, and the cupboard wasn't bare. OL all played no one was inexperienced, the whole defense played except 1 kid #6 started as a freshman, east wouldn't have been expected to return deep in the playoffs if they were so young.

QB and RB are inexperienced but the OL helps that.

There's a magazine that comes out with all this info if you didn't know. Coach them up and quit making excuses for taking an L

East won a region title before JS. No history made there. He did go to 2 title games which was historic for EN football. Credit to him.

As for Centennial, they were 8-3 last year. And at this point last year they were 4-1. JS isn't building anything there. The foundation is set.

JS may very well be building his own legacy, and if that is his goal, good for him. But he hasn't built anything else. EN was built by Bubba Spears and then B. Waite. Bubba got football at EN. Waite won the first region title and beat PC that one time. Haha I'll give JS credit and say he took EN to a whole other level, but EN was already East Nasty at that point. Ball got the stadium and surrounding area built.

As for Centennial, they were 4-1 at this point last year. They finished 8-3. Centennial this year is 5-0  with Nolensville, Brentwood, Page, and Hillsboro left. Again, he may take Centennial to another level, that remains to be seen, but he is certainly not building from the ground up. If he really wanted to build a legacy, he would have taken Antioch, Overton, Stratford, or even stayed at EN.

You sir need a life . You have this man's whole background mapped out . Why didn't you pan out as a coach since you have so many answers. I mean my gosh , why didn't you get a call for those jobs or interview . Sheeshhhh. East has had tons of talent and still never went past the 2nd round you can't sugar coat that , Spears started the program , Waite got the program and they were decent , what east has done was amazing no matter how you paint it , you were there and you didn't see the playoffs in the 3rd round neither pal. Why didn't Antioch or Overton call you to follow suit?  Idk what you have against him but you sound like the angry ex that got dumped  . They didn't have 1 D1 kid in his tenure , Waite had 20 . 10 on 1 team I believe . Get a life my guy . Same as for Harris what he does right now is his legacy no matter what was there or not . He is being successful.

I haven't heard half of the names that's East interviewed for the job . Harris is a clear cut winner based on coaching experience and background . Very humorous and embarrassing for the school . A guy from Maplewood staff, Mt. Juliet Christian , non faculty coach can not be cream of the crop options for this job . Metro will be metro

Stewart left because of lack of help in the building and support from new admin, so the list of names for the job is not surprising. DH has a good reputation but will he get the support of adding coaches in the building himself . East whole staff is gone from what I've heard so starting from square one with no previous help and unsure about getting your own guys in the building is a bad deal. I had no idea Stewart was the only coach in the building this whole time , that bonkers . It makes their success much more impressive for sure .

DH is getting the job you can book that , if not EAST will descend fast .

  5. The structure of metros discipline is terrible.  Teachers are not getting beat up or anything but what outside counties deal with as far as discipline is a walk in the park . The stories I've heard are crazy. I'm know several of them from the 90s era to now and I don't care how much money it is my day job is way better than theirs . Once your settled in metro and get that pay people usually stay until peace of mind is more important. My hats off to those metro guys cause they deal with way more than these county guys. Eddie woods ,Jamal Stewart, Tony Brunetti , Arcentae Broome , and a few other guys would excel in the county schools because they can coach but wouldn't have to deal with half the situations  they do now . The question is how many from the outside could stay a while in metro? I know I couldn't and wouldn't .

What does “replace money lost in county changes” mean?  I do not even understand that.

The teacher salary. When you change counties the money lost . Sumner is way behind here in Rutherford as well. It's a $7,000 cut metro it's more. So many hear the story that your booster will pay the difference

  7. It's going to be hard getting any metro guy , there is about an $8,000 pay difference in the teaching scale. Unless the booster club can make up the difference I don't ever see a big name Metro coach leaving. And that's just teacher pay. I don't think anyone would leave and end up making the same amount. When Gallatin is a tougher place to swim while partnering up with Murfreesboro in the playoffs

Blade would be the best option cause he has built up every program he has been apart of . Only time will tell I guess.

  8. If Stewart got that job , the Green Wave would instantly be better. He is a proven winner, he can get the kids to buy in and the culture he has created in EN in 2 years is impressive That would be a huge blow to EN. Is he even interested in leaving ? Would he take a pay cut , and why leave would be the question .

I think Eddie Woods would be a great choice as well . He also is a proven winner and I know he could get those kids fired .

Gallatin needs to try something new in my opinion . They need someone that can relate to the kids, make them tougher, and push them to be the best they can be. Gallatin still has great tradition and great players but they have to understand the times have changed and they need a shake up culture wise.

I saw them vs CR and that loss was unacceptable for the athletes I saw on their sideline. I hope Gallatin gets this right!

     Good luck Green Wave fans

Give me a better one Boog….state your case.  LA starts 22 different players with 13 different players having power 5 offers….not just D1…power 5.  The lines both ways average about 275.  Those teams in the 90s didn’t have that.

Beat the state champ from the highest classification in Alabama.  The scheme/coaching not half bad either.

How many of these kids have been from other states? Honestly who can't win with that roster. Coaching is one thing , hand picking is another. Recruiting TN kids is one thing but heck you've had 20 plus top ranked kids come from all over the US.

  10. Congrats to Alcoa on their 21st championship .  EN played a hard fought game , that missed kick off done it , there no way east would onside kick it that ball, the kicker missed the ball, then the kickoff return botch gave them 10 points easy !  Two years in a row they shot themselves in the foot. Alcoa just continues to be the standard!

    Good year both teams

Well dark Knight if you didn’t know I stay in the Gallatin area and I have a son who goes there and he actually brung this up. Also PC had a kid transfer to the wave a few year back. We have a stable of backs and don’t need one. Transfer U is on another part of town lol. The CR boys will tell you who. Before the Lebanon game  the kids was saying the HC stepping down.

Just pulling your leg. Good luck to you guys Saturday

Hearing that new topic of interest of the TSSAA today is around East playing players friday night that was suspended for disciplinary actions.... mainly #6.  Supposedly they had a few that had been out the weeks prior and was not clear to come back yet for the Waverly game?  Anyone confirm or shed some light on this?

I'm not a genius by no means but I'm sure an admin from East Nashville and any other school comes to each game . I'm sure they wouldn't have let them play if he wasn't let along the coach . I really don't think no one would just bulldog their boss like that . That seems like a disgruntled fan that can't take the L. And out of all things gang related just happen to be the issue huh lol. Quite comical

  13. No disrespect buy Bobby cant fix that job. They need some new blood. Mcg is one of the biggest schools in the state with 30 kids. Its not cause they lack them, its about relationships and selling your program. If you sit back and let PC keep taking your kids then how can you complain. PC or MCg , the choice is not hard especially if you didnt try to build a relationship with your feeder schools.

Pearl-Cohn and Alcoa are not playing on equal ground.  You can’t seriously compare the resources that both have at their disposal and say that you’re comparing apples to apples.

That argument goes FAR BEYOND a Tony Brunetti vs Gary Rankin thing or a PCHS Coaching Staff vs AHS Coaching Staff thing.

That was a comparison of MW vs PC . They seem to be so opinionated like they have a fist full of rings . The road isn't easier like greeneville or Elizabethon heck even Milan isn't there .

MM definitely called it. I think several maybe even most knew it was coming. Will Broome be able to keep Overton kids at Overton? Time will tell. If he can it should help other sports too which might be one of the reasons he was chosen.

Dark night - is Overton really that much different than 2013 Andersons last year? I ask only because I really don't know. I would think it would be at least similar but correct me if I am wrong. I have seen Overton play the last several years and have thought that the talent looked comparable. But I have not been in the school itself in probably five or so years.

Any chance little sweeper joins big sweeper? That could really help Overton.

I really didn't see the same caliber of players , I saw them once last year and  I only saw TA team vs Indy his last year ...... they don't have the same kind of kids but them competing in 6A will always be tough . I think SW did a good job and they still had great kids but this last hire killed anything they had left . I don't think Lil sweeper will join , but I don't know Broome on a personal basis to ask . I just don't see it after the year they had .

Y'all have the same amount of rings . With way less talent ..chirp chirp ..y'all ran from Alcoa to 4a chirp chirp ... it won't be easy there neither , you're going to have to coach sooner or later . I see several people get on here and have so much insight and negative comments and they can't coach out of a wet paper bag . Another guy goes around town bad mouthing every candidate for the job to help his son when actually he hurts him. He needs more years and to learn more period. Overton is not the same Overton from TA area, they got a good coach who can help turn it around as much as it can Good luck to AB and Overton .
