Personally I think Baugh would be the best hire cause Greeneville already has one maybe two great defensive minds but not any offensive minded coaches and I really believe that defense was something Baugh was/is missing at Cherokee, atleast if you go from cherokees box scores

Now you’ve got me curious, who have you heard has applied cause from what I can tell devilman doesn’t have a clue cause he went from it’s a done deal 3 weeks ago to now it’s down to 2 people so I’m gonna take what he says very questionably

Hasn’t been that great imo, cause they went from winning the 6A state championship year after year with quarles to now I’m pretty sure they’ve only won one since Hunt took over

Thanks for the agreement, and I’m not trying to defend his record cause I’m sure even coach Baugh would have liked to have a better record but it’s like quarterback win/loss records you have to take all things into account, but if you look at Cherokees loss margins I’d say the average is 7 points or less which shows me his teams wasn’t soft and would fight till the end just luck didn’t fall their way.

You really need to take the blinders off and stop looking at strictly a record, cause from what I can tell you’ve followed Cherokee somewhat and if you have you would know that their starting quarterback went down before the season and since it’s high school football we all know losing your quarterback can be crippling. The main reason I think losing their quarterback hurt them real bad was cause I remember them scrimmaging Halls during the preseason and they beat Halls abysmally on both offense and defense

Now that I will completely agree with you on, my thinking is it would be nice to have a head coach who played for Greeneville cause I might be wrong but has there ever been a head coach at Greeneville that played for Greeneville?

Now his 2nd year minus them upsetting south Doyle and Tennessee High I will agree is probably an underachieving year but surely we all know by now Cherokee has had pretty good talent but not much depth and surely we can both agree losing your starting quarterback his third year made it really hard to have any success, and as far as you saying he can beat teams if he has better talent, I’m pretty sure any head coach would say that heck even Jeremy Pruitt said that so I guess I would have to agree with you there

All three are young and I’m not trying to argue but Baugh is more of the mold of ballard considering Ballard was Baugh’s offensive coordinator and worked under Ballard as quarterbacks coach till Ballard was promoted to head coach in which he promoted Baugh to offensive coordinator, also spradlin and hammonds were/are defensive coordinators and Ballard and Baugh were offensive coordinators

Baugh’s first year at Cherokee he was 6-1 before his starting quarterback had a season ending injury and last year he lost his starting quarterback before the season even started due to a basketball injury, and to be fair Greeneville still used some of his offensive schemes when he was an offensive coordinator at Greeneville during most of Ballard’s successful seasons, and also one could ask how anybody else’s records are as a head coach that are within the program right now?

If they’re going to hire from loyalty alone, it comes down to one person which would be spradlin, but if they actually look at head coaching experience with ties to Greeneville then you’ve got to go with Baugh
