I have always been behind whoever they hire LOL, I've been invested in FC basketball probably longer than you have been alive and seen more coaches come and go than you can imagine. I liked the result we were getting from the Heltons. I am careful about what I say about people, if I haven't heard it come from their mouth then I won't repeat it. You may like Mike, shoot you probably are Mike, but that doesn't change the fact that he constantly curses our kids out at that school and tells them he is the best coach they will ever have.

Who said anything about Geno? I never once said anything about my expectations, but good try at guessing. I guess it depends on your definition of great - I see none of that. All he likes to do is cuss out the kids and tell them how great he is.

The words out of his mouth were that he was not taking it and staying with softball. Did he quit softball? Where is your info coming from because I can't find it anywhere and again as of this morning the job is still posted

Why in the world would you want him to coach? He is terrible and the only thing he knows about basketball is that it is round.

Thanks for the clarification on that. I cannot for the life of me remember that coach's name, but as of today I still have not heard anything and the job is still posted on TSSAA

Just FYI - Mike Holt has stated that he was offered the job, but turned it down because FC would not let him have the softball team and girls basketball team. These are his words, but they do not make sense because he is already an assistant for the boys basketball team so I'm not sure what the real story is.

If I was him I wouldn't come back either, but I sure do wish he would!

I really don't know - I have only heard 2 names thrown around and neither one was Tullahoma's old Coach. I hope and pray we get a good one and soon

Holt loves getting his buddy Don Rhoton to give him all those coaching jobs.

As far as I know, we have only lost 2 girls to huntland - one last year and the other2 years ago. I only know one of them and she's a great kid and heck of a ball player and I hated to see her go, but unfortunately her parents constantly tell her that she knows more than the coach does and not to do what he says. That hurts a team so much. I know not all coaches are good, but even a bad coach is still your coach and you have to believe in and work his program not your own if you want to build a team.

Coach Holt would be a terrible hire for FC. He has done nothing short of ruining our boys program. I have played for him and have had some of my children play for him and he is not a good coach. Coach Holt is a big buddy of Don Rhoton who is the athletic director of FCHS. Chris Guess is the father of a senior, works for the Sheriff's dept and a big buddy of our AD. Neither Coach Holt nor Guess like the Heltons (Holt out of jealousy and Guess because his daughter didn't get as much playing time and starts as he wanted). This is why the Heltons were fired - the AD wanted to fire him last year and talked about it but he had a 22 win season and couldn't justify the firing. This year they only won 14 games ( I think, may have bee 13) and so now he feels he can justify the firing. You didn't miss anything, its just the same ole politcs that has haunted FCHS for years. Its all about who your buddies are, they could care less about building programs good for the kids.

LOL@best kid in the county - I prefer to have kids on a team that are coachable and not kids whose Mom and Dad tell them they are too good for these high school coaches. Those "best kids" are welcome to leave.

If FC hires Holt then they can expect the same they have gotten with the boys. No discipline and losing season. I disagree FC has gotten progressively worse, we have had some good games and some bad and had problems scoring, but we have had a winning record for the girls and been to regionals every year. Until FC stops hiring coaches based on who they are and who their friends are, they will continue to go down the ranks in every sport. FC atheltic department and director of schools only care about giving their friends jobs. Coach Holt's demeanor is to constantly tell the kids in very colorful language how terrible they are and how good he is.

Yep. We beat Coffee County by about 31 in the region finals and a week later Coffee won the State in a blizzard. Vivid, but bad memories that year. Ha I was at all 3 games vs Coffee that year. Edited 9 hours ago by 85warrior You have your years confused. CC won the state in 1993 not 1992. FC only played White County when regional play came around, it was only once that year.
