how'd riverdale do today? i know they played science hill at one. just wondering how they did?

Nothing has been heard from Blackman who has a very fine post player returning who likely is playing out of position, due to her size but is an excellent athlete.

 

Nothing further has been heard from White County about their prospects.

 

And other than generalities, Cookeville has nto given any info about their team although I know enough about a very fine AAU program that they are loaded with talent.

Did siegel and warren co play tonight? and if they did who started for each team and who is winning?

Not much talk for this game latley. I guess everyone is going to let their play on the field do the talking. I like that. Should be a great series can't wait to see how it turns out. Go Oakland.

Oakland beat Lincoln County tonight on a walk off homerun by PJ Polk 7-6. Pretty good showing by the Pats. Renfroe threw the 1st 3 innings and gave up all the runs to Lincoln County. He had one rough inning leaving the ball up a little, but settled down and threw pretty wll after that. Brennan Stender was lights out the last 2 innings. The defense was flawless and the hitting is coming around as Dodd, Burnett, Parsley and Fisher all had big hits and of course Polk. Pitching is still way ahead over years past and is encouraging.

I believe oakland played ravenwood last night?

ohs wins a close one 8-7 over blackman. a really great game. showed a lot of heart and that ohs is not goin down. this team will scrap for a win, great job tonight by tyler bowman pitching 6 and 2/3 soild innings. tye got the win for ohs he great also. way to step up guys... lets go to riverdale and see if we can beat them. I think but im not sure siegel over Warren county 7-6. Im pretty sure the game went 8 innings.

Oakland 6 Blackman 4 Rusty Howard pitched the first 5 innings for Oakland and Tyler Burnett pitched the last 2 for the save. Great job tonight! I saw that Riverdale was losing 1-0 to White County it was early in the 3 inning to early to tell. Keep us posted on how the game goes. Good luck to everybody.

Drew had his first varsity career homerun the other night against siegel. The ball went half way up the light pole in left field. Give drew some time and he will be up there.

Good luck to everyone in the tournament. i hope oakland can beat blackman and get some revenge. will see how things work out. The transfer from blackman marcus barnes i think becomes eligible to play during the tournament. this will help oakland out a lot. good luck to everyone on friday, may the best team win.

Oakland Riverdale tomorrow at 3pm

The final score was 9-7. Oakland gave up 8 runs in the first and then a solo shot to cody harrell. It was 9-2 goin into the last inning. Oakland came back 9-7 and oakland has got 1st and 3rd with 2 outs and mitch warren up to bat. He battles pretty hard but then he strikes out ending the game. Oakland played great defense with only 1 error. and riverdale gave up 3 errors. 2 coming in the last inning. Cant wait for round 2 tomorrow. good luck to both teams tomorrow!

I predict a split each with both teams winning at home. I hope oakland can get on a roll with just a week left until district tournament and hopefully then can make some noise in the post season. If you have a 9 run lead, then you hit the ball to get that 9 run lead, so you shouldnt have to steal to get anymore runs.

I agree with 123DP dont think the umps caused oakland to lose tonight. Winning by 9 doesnt sound like the umps caused it.  Sounds like that Oakland wanted Cookeville to stop stealing bases and stop playing hard so they could possibly catch up. I always thought that you should play hard to the game is over no matter the situation. Good Luck to both teams the rest of the year

I dont think you can pin oakland's loss on the umpires. If a team plays well enough, the ump wont have a effect on the game. I would rather a team play agressive, even when they are up by a large margin. Oakland still could have came back late

I wasnt blaming the umpires on the teams lose tonight. i was just simply saying that oakland had a few calls go against them. cookeville played great i will give them major props but when one of the guys from oakland gets shoved in the chest that has to be an automatice suspention. and i agree if the team plays well enough then a few calls that went against you will not hurt you.

Cookeville with the help of the umpires won tonights game against oakland. In the early going oakland's cory sorgenfri was coming around third and on his way to home, when the throw beats him there and he is tagged out. but it was more than a tag, it was a strong shove to the chest. cory got up and said a few words and should of ended up as an ejection of the catcher. and with an 8 or 9 run lead the cavs were stealing. i mean come on how much busch league can you get in one game.

I Believe Oakland has a chance to sweep this series. Oakland is starting to come around on offense and on defense. And there pitching is coming around too. If you think about it when oakland played blackman and warren county they played awful defense, had no hitting, and pitching was alright, but not what it is right now. i just think oakland has to sweep these next 2 games to be in the district race. look for some younger guys to step up in this series and help pull oakland to victory.
