"There is politics involved in everything. Absolutely everything". Rush Limbaugh.
When I heard Rush say that one afternoon my life and the lives of my family and friends as well as the lives of my enemies became much easier to understand.

I've been to all the sites, Vandy, MTSU (alma mater), Tech, and UTC. UTC is by far the best experience. Parking was convenient, easy into stadium, restaurant right outside of stadium.
So, how long have you lived in the southeast TN area? Also, there is the question of fairness. Is that a subject that you can understand.

Dude if you consider Cookeville "East" Tennessee, and using that as means of justification to move the championship potentially 500+ miles away from certain parts of the state, that's pretty darn out of touch.
Throwing Memphis out as an "answer" to Chattanooga is ludicrous. When they hold the Blue Cross Bowl in Bristol, get back to me with the Memphis suggestion.
Cookeville is in east TN you moron.

Alcoa 8. Oakland? Maryville? Peabody 3
Only schools without open enrollment should be on this list. So, remove Alcoa.

Overall economic decline is killing everything associated with public education. Public education follows a corporate model where you have high administrative overhead (bosses make a lot) and workers make a livable wage. When inflation goes up, corporations raise prices and employee pay in lockstep with inflation. The problem with public education using the corporate model is they don’t have a product to sell so there isn’t a price hike that increases the pay for the employee. Teachers are leaving teaching and coaching in droves because of stagnant wages, whereas administrators are not because they make significant wages. Example: large county principals make close to $130k, assistant principals make $100k, and teachers make $37k. Textbook corporate model. T$$AA is no different. Referees and others that get things done make nothing, while a very few individuals make significant money at the top. I am a capitalist conservative, but it’s moronic for public ed and T$$AA to follow a corporate model. The more inflation goes up, the more teachers, coaches, referees, etc will be leaving the job forever.
I do not see "teachers and coaches leaving in droves". I've heard that line for 20-25 years now but it's simply not true. School have become very top heavy. Small schools that never considered having a "Vice Principal" now have one even though enrollment is the same. Schools that use to have one vice principal now have 3 or 4. Small schools who use to have 1 secretary now have 3 and so on. It is even worse at the administration buildings. Those places are so over hired someone should go to prison for it. Everyone wants an assistant and then the assistant wants an assistant and it never ends until you have 50 people doing what 5 people could do if willing to put in a decent day's work 5 days a week.

Martin has a few new and nice hotels. Dyersburg has plenty more right down the road. 10+ years in Cookeville and now in Chattanooga is not acceptable. These games should either be played at Vanderbilt or MTSU but, if not, east and west TN should have an equal number of years to host.
Okay east and middle TN crybabies. What is your excuse now.

UTM would be excellent. Lots of parking. Artificial turf. I'm sure all these east and middle TN posters will find plenty negative to say about Martin to. They enjoy their advantage of not having to stay in a hotel the night before the game. 30-35-40 years since west Tennessee hosted it. I didn't complain when it was at Vanderbilt and then Murfressboro. I figured that was fair enough. Then the past what, 10 years in Cookeville and now Chattanooga. No, that doesn't pass the smell test. I'll switch my imaginary vote to UTM.

These games have been played in east Tennessee for how many years in a row now? 11, 12, 15? It's past time for them to be held in the Liberty Bowl again. That hasn't happened in more than 30 years now. Having to travel and spend the night before the game in a hotel, with players this age, is a huge disadvantage. Middle and east TN have not had to do that for decades. Why can't the Liberty Bowl host them for a 10 year slot?

so what quarter did that announcer mention how much he disliked that west TN football....
Booger just sayin
He didn't have to come out and say it. Regardless of which west TN team is playing every questionable call against westTN is a good call and every call against the other team is a bad call. When the team a westTN team is playing commits pass interference, regardless of how incredibly flagrant it was, if the refs do not call it then during the replay he's as quite as a mouse. Won't say nothing. That gober did the same thing last year. His biased is so clear and so one sided that the delicate looking little thing should not be announcing the games.
-
How do you Riverside fans like that announcer, the one that doesn't talk as loud. That guy makes no bones about it. He does NOT like west TN football. I mean like, why not just put the Tyner coach wife call the dang game.

No he didn't have possession at all the ball was moving the whole time.Terrible!!
I am sure you agreed with the 2 no calls on the two blatant pass interference calls as well.

I heard the announcer say that 150 times but YES he did for just long enough.

Nobody in the entire state is more disappointed than that announcer.

I think he had possession for 2 seconds. That's all it takes. The CC coach acting out after two blatant pass interference penalties were not called against CC is asinine.
-
I've seen McKenzie score many a TD on that pass to Weber just now. It seems to be one of the head coach's favorite pass plays.

No it would’ve been at the 5 yard line if not for the call.
Correct.

Yes. Clay County is much better than I thought they would be. The quick inside reverse is not a trick play for them. It is just another play in the playbook and they run it excellently.

That hold was as outright impossible to not call penalty. Dang, he pulled the Rebel all the way around. No doubt it would have been a sack if not for the call.
-
It HAS to be an embarrassment to the TSSAA that CC was not called for the offensive pass interference that happened just then, preventing the pic. When its close and iffy, okay. When it is blatant, and this has happened twice in this game so far, knowing the TSSAA is in attendance, WTH.

That’s pretty dang classless to come on a message board and talk about a kid having an IEP. Please delete this part of your post.
With the creation of D2 I cannot imagine why a private school would not recruit. I cannot see why a good head coach would go to a private school that didn't allow at least 10 scholarship players to be on the team.

This promises to be a great game. Probably looking more forward to it than any of them.

Why can't these NFHS commentators concentrate on the game instead of bragging on T$$AA and their personnel?
The tall slimmer one is on each year and is so anti-west Tennessee that I have to mute him before halftime. Are they not told to appear neutral regardless of their own opinion. It is very annal. The blatant, not even close, pass interference CC committed on McKenzie's first play after the CC fumble was ignored by both announcers.
It's inconsequential. But, it is not the way it is supposed to be.
