I’m not the boro spokesman so hypothetical matchups aren’t my thing. I think the boro is like D2-AA in that it’s top heavy. Haves/have nots. Lots of good teams and bad teams in both leagues between 11-18. Coaching better in D2 was my point. Seems you agree

Did their decline coincide with the move to D2? Better competition and coaching in that league

Is this a job that Tygard would want? He coached there before. When was the last time ND was good? I know they had decent run a while back. Was that a fluke or is that sustainable there? Just an outside that’s curious.

Okay, all that have responded to my comment about the term Recruiting coordinator, name any other high school that has this as a title for an assitant coach. I could care less how unsuccessful or successful the head coach will be, although I have my opinion. I was just pointing out that Mathers is good for the school, but one of his titles ,"recruiting coordinator" could be taken out of context.
Taken out of context how? Like he’s responsible for transfers?
I’m sure Tygard understands he needs transfers to compete with Oakland and Riverdale who consistently get top talent to move in but he also knows he can’t publicize that info. That will get you on probation real quick. Ask the state champs. -

How exactly does having Mathers as a recruiting coordinator shine a light on Coach Tygard? Not sure this has anything to do with Head Coach shining a light on himself.
Seems like the new guy is trying positively promote his new coaches and create a buzz going into the season. He seems innovative and energetic. He’s trying new things in this county.

Fair enough, and I do believe McDaniel is a good coach.
People forget that before McDaniel went to Oakland they had a pretty rough stretch. Yes he inherited talent but it was a .500 program.
creasy inherited a program that had become a 3rd/semis type program.
Creasy has won championships at places that have traditionally been successful.

I don’t think there’s a comparison between Creasy and GQ. Would have been interesting to see more head to head match ups but the numbers speak for themselves.
Now the McDaniel/Creasy debate I believe is closer. Creasy has benefited from having some really good defenses. Most years Oakland gives up about 7 pts a game.
so maybe the debate is does Creasy have a better staff than McDaniel? -

Comparing McDaniel to Creasy is like comparing Phylilis Diller to Raquel Welch. There is a whole lot of difference there my friend.
I had to google those ladies. Quite the contemporary reference. So Creasy is that much better than McDaniel in your opinion?

Absolutely he is.
Can most high school HCs coach in college? Does success in HS translate to success in college? Just curious. Seems like most would go if they could

No Eric is the QB coach.
So does Oakland practice with all their players together? (Freshman/JV/Varsity)
If they practice separately how could he coach both freshman and varsity? -

He is currently the Freshman OC and Qbs Coach with varsity. Freshman team has whipped everybody both years winning county championships undefeated in both. He has always been surrounded by great coaches his whole career. Played for Clint, Creasy, and Dobbs in high school, Jim Painter and Woody Hunt in Baseball in College winning a National Championship at Cumberland. Back with Creasy after graduating college and won 2A championship in 2013. Became TC Head Baseball coach and went to Sub State first year as HC then took the Lebanon High Baseball job where he won Coach of the year and Field of the year in 2 of the 4 years he was there. Then back with Creasy again to win 2018 6A title first year back with Creasy and now winning it again in 2020. Needless to say I do know him..everybody does from TC and where he came from. Hes been fun to follow over the years. Hes a winner in my book and has the Resume to back it up too!
As far as Jackson...he is the DC at Oakland and in my opinion is the the best DC in the state..who else can say they have shut out maryville?..twice really ...I believe this year I watched on my TV 30. Maryville they scored late on on the third team losing 49-7..
As far as Peabody, I believe creasy and vetetoe coaching TC in 2018 instead of at Oakland they beat them by 14+ in that game. So Peabody is just lucky Creasy left because if he would have had this last group at TC, I believe most High school football followers knows what would have happened.
#FACTS
Not sure how big of a role vetetoe plays on offense at Oakland. Creasy has several former head coaches on that side of the ball. All with play calling experience. (Watson, Dobbs) Seems like Creasy would be QB coach.

Life is about moving forward not backwards. It's my understanding that TC is going to keep the offensive coordinator that we have now for next year and that Coach Vetetoe would be a assistant ( with the defense) LOL. Heck or defense held all year for us. When you hold a team in the semifinals of the state playoffs to 16 points then your defense did it's job. Offence was so predictable and staggant we only got as far as we got because of talent and toughest. The problem is the offense. Coach Vetetoe is all about moving forward not backwards. His time will come. I see coach Vetetoe as a OC for someone then I see him as a HEAD COACH for someone in his future. For us ex players and heck the whole community we want to see TC staff put the kids in the best position to win BIG TIME GAMES. When the talent is equal the you can't just win on toughest and 4 or 5 PLAYS. 3 of them plays run it straight up a A Gap. The talent is on the CREEKBANK now it time to open it up.
What does Vetetoe do for Oakland now?

Well the post said " from a very prominent near school" so that takes Rang out and I believe Steve Britton has retired from teaching a year or two ago.

Several rings and Head Coaching experience? Hard to find those coaches anywhere. I doubt they would turn away someone with that resume if the actual existed. Names would be helpful.

Oakland loses 2-3 coaches every year. Probably plenty of people that would like to be the DC at Oakland.

Creasy called off the dogs against Kenwood much earlier than I've seen in past games. The 2nd and 3rd string took their opportunity to play and didn't disappoint. Apparently there has been a lot of jawing this week between the schools. This doesn't bode well for Siegel.
Creasy is usually pretty good about subbing out with a lead but maybe not this week. I think he's ready to show off that new quarterback. For all the talent at Oakland its amazing the lack of talent at quarterback for years. This one really has a 6A arm and potential to go to the next level. Could be scary in that offense.

Tough situation for all. Hate to see future players punished but obviously a punishment of some kind is warranted. Would like to see TSSAA do what is best for players for once.
