  1. I don't have an agenda bro. I couldn't care less about either team. If they both lose then great. I just hated missing out on a great game and good seasons to end like that. The answer is you trust the Coach about contact trace and play. They all haven't been at school and that kid hadn't been at practice since Tuesday.
  2. They were probably told you'll know by Friday. Kid wanted to go support his team and gameday rolls around with no call from dept of health. They take rapid test so he can go. Maybe it was two kids. Still doesn't change anything. Bo Cagle said the kid he was called about has not been around the team. I could care less. I just had nothing better to do tonight. Just sharing my experience with McMinn County COVID protocol. I just wanted to watch a really good game. To me, TSSAA and Health Dept dropped the ball. It's BS.
  3. Bo Cagle said he's been away from the team since Tuesday. That's not speculation.
  4. Yep. Kid got a rapid test and the 3-5 day test results yesterday.
  5. That's the only timeline that works to have a positive and negative result on the same day. It still doesn't matter when he tested. He's been away from the team and school since Tuesday.
  6. Happens all year without opposing teams knowing anything. Our first game against McMinn, we had 8 kids out. We contact traced and set the players out. McMinn wasn't notified..Its been done this way all season. Bo said the kid hasnt been around the team and his team was clear. It's been coach/teacher word all year.
  7. The result from the test done on Tuesday was the phone call coach got on the way to game. Parents probably took kid to get rapid test done in 15 minutes that morning. Rapid test came back negative. It literally adds up lol The kid still has to be released by the state though. Him and his Parents should not have been at the game. Still doesn't effect the gameplay though
  8. He probably got a quick test done and got a negative result letter. He came to game with parents. Has nothing to do with the team or school. The other test was probably given Tuesday and returned Friday. The quick test was probably done Friday. You can be positive on Tuesday and negative on Friday. Rapid tests come back in 15 minutes. Still wasn't the team's fault.
  9. THEY DO NOT TRACE UNTIL THE TEST RESULT COMES IN. THEY GO BACK 48 HRS AND QUARANTINE CLOSE CONTACTS. They send home every student or player that has been in contact less than 6 feet and more than 15 minutes. Every time a positive result happens this is done. Since the player hasn't been in contact with anyone at school or football since Tuesday then there is no need to trace.
  10. Contact tracing only occurs 48 hrs before positive test. Tuesday is well out of that window. No trace needed.
  11. Most likely because he was sent home Tuesday due to a contact trace and wanted to test to find out
  12. 48 hrs from your positive test you start contact tracing. McMinn didn't practice Wednesday and kid wasn't there Thursday so McMinn is clear to play.
  13. Comment from McMinn County coach Bo Cagle on the situation at Dobyns-Bennett: "We got positive confirmation on the way up there that we had a COVID case on the team. Now the thing about it was, the COVID case was not with the team." (1/2)"So we thought everything would be all right once we got the word, and then they (D-B) got I guess the same call about us having one, and the Sullivan County Health Department would not allow the game to be played." (2/2) Also, Cagle noted that McMinn did not practice Wednesday, and the player who tested positive did not practice with the team Thursday. Also, from TSSAA executive director Bernard Childress: "A decision will not be made until we get all the facts. The schools will submit their side on Monday." "Anything is possible but playing the game next week is highly unlikely." https://mobile.twitter.com/DPAGabeGarcia/status/1327715230680555521

  15. I'm guessing the kid received a negative test and thought "now I can go be with my team." McMinn allowed it based on that paper. However, that is not protocol. Only the dept of health can release you from quarantine. He can't come back until they call. Dumb move if that happened but it's all speculation atm
  16. Not true. McMinn teams play all the time on weather days
  17. Good luck with those refunds. T$$AA keeping those "donations." What health department official is working so late?
  18. How do you know they didn't? They didn't go to school Wednesday through today. Bo didn't let him practice or play. That's procedure. Right?
  19. The protocol is to contact trace for a positive test. Tracing was done and the ones not effected were cleared to play. Not all counties shut down sports teams for one case and some tracers. Some counties do. Like Hamilton Co. There's no way to prove anyone was at risk. You have to go by the coaches word that no one else was effected by the trace. Yes, the coach just like teachers with seating charts can decide contact tracing. Bo said we're good and the officials with no proof to the contrary made a unfortunate decision based on feelings not protocol. Hope they play tomorrow or Monday
  20. DB canceled based on their opinion and feelings if that is the case. McMinn followed protocol to play and DB refused. McMinn @ Maryville next week then.
  21. Rules are different county to county. I think that's what happened. McMinn had a player test positive. He was quarantined and contact tracing was completed. Game still on. DB may forfeit for just one case in their county. Chattanooga does this. So DB thought wrong that McMinn should forfeit bc of one case on the team. I think it was just confusion and TSSAA should fix this and pay for McMinn travel.
  22. 10 day quarantine no matter what in our county. Especially with the rapid tests.
  23. That can't happen. #1) It is now a 10 day quarantine with a test. Positive or negative. #2) McMinn County is notified by health care provider of a student or staff test and school sends out a list of students not allowed on campus I believe someone overreacted tonight and a decision was made in a panic without verifying the info. A positive test on a team DOES NOT cause a forfeit. You quarantine the player and contact traced and play.
  24. Win 1st round, win 2nd round against Loudon. That's it. Right? Wouldn't 3rd round be against Alcoa? You really don't believe y'all are Alcoa good do you? Nevermind. 3 wins tops. Lose to Alcoa in semis.
