They take a step back this year. Graduated majority of there best players the last couple of years. The well is running dry nothing really coming up through the lower levels. They still will be easily favored to win the region as those teams just simply ain't got the horses to keep up. Playoffs will be when they get truly tested. Poor Scheduling 6 straight road games to start the year.

Oh, they're athletes alright. Just not what I've seen from past years.
Look at #9 for Fayetteville. Red Bank typically has several of that caliber & size.
That's what it was last year.

This isn't a typical looking Red Bank team as far as size, speed, & athletic ability I don't think.
They look like athletes, but they're playing sloppy. So far at least

RB sloppy first possession

I'm not convinced there's a widespread issue with deflating enrollment counts. Those 20-day enrollment numbers aren't just for TSSAA use but broader application. I suspect there's as much (or more) incentive to keep those numbers up as school district funding is based largely on enrollment.

@GeneralForrest isn't alone on that assessment. Some fans are content with mediocrity and others are not. Forrest sandwiched the best team in school history between a 5-6 team and a 6-5 team. In 2018 when coach took over he was set up with talent especially in the 9th and 11th grade classes. Those freshman are now seniors-to-be and this group isn't even in the discussion for 2021 as a Top 10 team in a weak 2A. They dominated the youth league and only lost to Fayetteville (all close games) in Middle School. The General's eventual End of Year review or Forrest 2021 thread will be a better place to discuss the coach's performance.
Agree. They should have a talented group of players next year.

A very talented group of athletes from SP. I expect you all will be in the hunt again next year as well. As to it being an upset of the ages I'd disagree. Fayetteville is what I'd call a 10 pointer team. They raised their level (or lowered depending on your outlook) against the mid to upper level teams to win by 10 +/- 5. I think if SP had scored 8 more FC would have put another 6 on the board.
And as was said earlier in the year, this group of kids have played and enjoyed success going back to the middle school years (starting with this group of seniors they were undefeated for 3 years running with conference player of the year every year as well I believe). Sometimes kids mature differently, some players leave (and come back in this case), sometimes you get the lucky bounce or not, etc so nothing is a given. But for folks who have personally watched these young men play over the years its not as shocking that they showed up to play. And if it was luck or overconfidence or poor coaching decisions, well... you know I'll take the win that way too.
I'll also say a "Thank you" for the kind/positive comments from the SP fans on coacht. Grace during a loss is always commendable and appreciated. That speaks well of your people and program.

They had a great career, not many can say they had 1 state, 2 semi and a quarterfinal berth.
Hats off to that class, accomplished group of young men.

Is #7 from Fayetteville injured?
Yeah, got hurt at end of first half vs LC

I think Moore beats SP also
Maybe. They would have scored plenty but I don't know if their defense would've held

I really thought 7 would get the nod in the 4th!
Injured. But ankle. Hobbled around all night. To be honest if he's at 100% Fayetteville probably scores at least one more time.

Fayetteville, the team with zero Mr Football candidates managed to win the state championship while defeating all 5 candidate along the way. Do I have that right?

Injury to #7 might be a problem for FHS offense. Unless 23 steps up or passing becomes a threat not enough diversity

Fayetteville winning in the trenches. RBs looking great, but Coach Morson himself could stroll through some of those holes.

Fayetteville does the neighborly thing and helps LC save Cookeville gas money this year, FC 34-24

Weather forecast?

I expect a big part of this game will be how well the teams adjust to the opponent. Considering they have little schedule overlap hard to gauge what the other is like until you lineup. Most likely what one or both had planned to do going in won't pan out and they'll need to make changes. Should be a good one. Btw, tickets available now

Just want to give a shout out to the LC Falcons. Awesome accomplishment of making the semi’s four years in a row. Much respect from this dawg. Will be cheering for you Friday.
Except for that last sentence I'm in agreement. Says a lot about your program. Looking forward to a good game.

Exactly!! Seeing so many county kids there cheering and dancing with the city kids was awesome. There was definitely a lot of support for City from LC parents and students and it was great!
Ditto that. I see lots of LC kids cheering on City and I've seen lots of City kids cheering on LC. Lots 'o times I've seen that.

Yep. Kids are like that. Unless some of those FHS kids have an unexpected bloom, I look for the Tigers to be mid level the next few years.
