I've got friends on the ground in Gibbs. They said if Central gets approval they do not want to play. Will Gibbs have to forfeit if that's the case?
-
Why doesn't Gibbs want to play Central?

Has Central been practicing?
Don't know about that just heard rumblings about Central getting permission to play and Gibbs didn't want to play

Well that sounds like anything but a reliable source.
Say what you want. Gibbs is going to have a decision to make this time tomorrow. If they decide not to play they may have to forfeit

Are Gibbs and Central still on??
Word I got from a buddy in Corrytun is Central is getting cleared to play today but Gibbs said they didn’t want none

Oakland is a stinking good football team. I know there are a lot of Maryville Rebel fans on these boards and they take it one game at a time but Oakland has to worry them.

I think Fulton is going to surprise some people in this one. I went to Fulton's first game against Austin-East, and Austin-East was dealing with a tragedy but it was evident that Fulton had a lot of speed. It did take longer than I was expecting for Fulton to get the running clock rolling. This will definitely be a good game but I think the Falcons will edge out the Mavs.

I agree this will be a big game but I'm pretty sure Cummings came back and played West his first year at Cleveland. @HTV can you help us out with this one?

I like Stratford in this one as well. They have a strong running attack. Best of luck to both teams.

I think West will win this one pretty handily but I hope it is a competitive one. Best of luck to both teams.

Got to love games like this. Hampton has a lot to play for. This part of the season and if the going gets tough the tough get going.

Got a feeling they'll be ready.
I forgot I was on the Cland thread
I think this will be a good ball game. Going to keep an eye on it for sure.

I have to say I like Pittsburg in this one for sure. Best of luck to both teams though, hope everyone gets out healthy.

Senior Night is a tough one to get up for with all the emotions involved.

Is Trez down? Haven't heard much about em since the state runs.

Yes. His name is Tony Kilgore. He is principal at NW middle. He is an so called offensive consultant for Powell. They have other offensive/defensive consultants at Powell and their kids play at Powell. Also they do have an attorney who files briefs and helps players get eligible. His son plays for Powell. They have it going on at Powell but they won't win the state championship this year.
Who do you think will bring the gold ball home in 5A?

Yep. What I figured. You really don't understand how the process works, do you?
I understand, it must hurt knowing your Panthers will have to forfeit all their wins again this year. It's fitting that their color is orange. Cheaters cheaters pumpkin eaters.

I'm pulling for East in this one. I've been wrong before though. Best of luck to both teams.

Hello, McFly - the administrators at the individual schools don't grant the transfers. That comes from central office, and it's the same group that makes decisions for every school, not just Powell.
Transfers are given for a lot of reasons. Transfer students do participate in a lot of different activities, not just athletics.

With a rivalry game like this, throw the records out of the window. It's all about who makes the fewest mistakes and who wants it most. Best of luck to both teams.

I think this one will be tight, I'm leaning York personally. Best of luck to both teams!

Good luck to both teams. I like Alcoa in this one.

What do you think administrator's look for when they look at a transfer application? Whether or not the student in question can help the debate team? No, they look if the student can bring something to the school athletically. Knox Co is not an open zone. Kids can request transfers but not every single one is issued. That is why it's so interesting to see the ones that are. This isn't rocket science. Let me ask you this, if Powell is on such solid ground why did the TSSAA have to vacate their wins? How many wins will Powell get to actually keep this year?

Bearden open
in Class 5A & Class 6A
Posted
The worst thing for Bearden was the Hardin Valley job coming open. I think it has a lot more potential than Bearden. Bearden is a perennial 5-5 team, totally average. 70-80 years of data proves that. HVA is a young and growing community/school that will just continue to develop. Is it worse than BHS right now? Absolutely. But HVA has a stronger administration that will make the right hire, IMO.
