Off topic but anyone have any idea who might apply for the West Ridge boys job?

Not sure? maybe Pendleton that has been at Sullivan South or the Sullivan Central Coach if they hire within? If they open it up could be from anywhere. TN high assistants that got passed up for Mcmeans. Couple good young coaches in the area i would assume the coach at NG wouldn't stay there forever. or a up and coming coach out of the Big 7?

Hampton jumped out to a 15 pint lead against Uh and Unaka this week on the road only to be very fortunate to win. Key in my opinion was they were on the road and after big leads relaxed to much. Hampton has only had 4 home games this season but end the season with 6 straight at home. They have now won 6 straight and 9 out of there last 10. My opinion is they will be tough to beat at home. “If” they win out which would be a win over NG I think the tournament favors the home team in a coin flip. I will also say in my opinion Hampton knows why the lost at Ng and will make the needed adjustments. That doesn’t mean anything obviously but as you all know your teams as you are around them daily I know Hampton. The rotation is just now coming together and trying a lot of different defenses for tournaments. I like our chances at Hampton but on the road is iffy. I also know on any given night anybody can beat anyone.

I agree that home court will play a huge factor in who wins the tournament.. I think Hampton is 10 Pts better at home .. NG is the team I have seen the most .. to me Hampton is a year away .. they are good but NG can match their size .. the press didn’t bother them .. and have by far the best player on the court .. and if it comes down to coaching .. I’ll take NG over anyone but maybe Unaka ..

NG beat UH tonight by about 10. The German went for 33 and Meredith had 43 out of 54 points. Maybe the tourney will be more competitive than imagined.

Worst game I’ve seen ng play ..plus NG is banged up.. coasted tonight ...  think it’s them and Hampton still

Ng played well but I’m not placing my bets on this one game. Hampton’s game plan didn’t work and our Pg got hurt in the first qt and wasn’t 100% the rest of the game but that probably don’t change the end game. Hampton lost to Ng at Ng many times the last several years and that hasn’t hurt them come seasons end. Interested to see how we view this game a month from now. Hampton lost 73-70 at SG a few weeks ago. This is a different team than it was then but let’s see how much the home court plays a difference tonight and later this month when Ng comes to vanhuss white gym

i agree a home win in the season means nothing at all would much rather win in post season... to me just watching around the league those are the best two teams.. and NG has by far the best player on the court and is the more veteran team.. they can also score in the 70s this year which is entirely different from years past when they played in the 50s... what in the world is going on with UH why cant they play conference games but continue to play non conference games???

Not seen Ng play personally, but Hampton defiantly played a much tougher schedule so throw out the records. I think its always hard to win at Ng so I give the huskies a slight edge in this one. I may change my mind after tonight but from what I've heard from Ng opponents fans (which doesn't mean a hill of beans LOL) Hampton probably has a slightly better team in their opinion. We may get a good gage tonight and we may not this is a weird year.

i agree hamptons schedule is tougher but not like NG has beat cupcakes (wins over Elizabethton, Grainger, South Greene, Providence, Northview etc)  i think NG is way bigger and Hampton will have trouble guarding them ... the young kids will struggle with the physicality ... we will get a good look tonight

From what I've seen, we need to be more aggressive on the glass and on D.....Seem hesitant to go for the steals too. We are a lot better when everyone is playing wide open and loose. I expect it to be hard to win at NG and hard for them at Hampton.

Depth could be an issue for NG .. which is a strength of Hampton always .. but the German has changed the whole mentality of NG they aren’t soft which I thought was the case in years passed .. if it’s gets in the paint it’s scored

I definitely think they will be at the top once they get their legs under them. Meredith had 49 against TN High the other night and UH won. The next leading scorer had like 8. It is going to be Hampton, NG, UH for the title in my opinion. Hampton definitely has the toughest place to play. Hope the season can continue on without a whole lot of interruptions...The tssaa did vote that the highest seed will host the District and Regional Tournament, so that is something to keep an eye on as well.

North Greene takes down South last night ... was up over 20 until the coach subbed at the end.... the athletic kid looks to be turning the corner and the German is probably the 2nd best player in that league behind Meredith
