(not saying they wont)  At least you know enough to insert this disclaimer in your post.

I know enough about the tradition at Maryville to know they will be good enough even in a possible down year. I will try to say it again in a different way.

I wouldn't be surprised if they get beat in the regular season by BC. I actually don't think they will lose that game, but it has a potential to be a loss, unlike the last few years where there hasn't been any real competition for them inside the district.

    I am printing this. Thanks!

I don't think this is bulletin board material, but printing it would be fine with me. I don't have a dog in the fight.

All I implied was that it won't be a cake walk like it is normally. If you think I am partial to Bradley Central you would be very wrong. I don't like them at all. They have two very talented players that will be seniors and at their prime. The Maryville mystique might kick in on game day and BC gets drilled like normal. I am just saying if there has ever been a chink in the armor it would be next year.

Having said that, I will leave the topic with this statement:

The upcoming Jr. class (2022) is pretty talented and some of them got to show it this past year. If they are ready to take the reigns next year then my previous statement is a moot point.

Quit crying CrossState and Welcome To The Jungle, it gets worse here everyday until a new young no nonsense coach is hired. Talk of kids transferring for new facilities, new found pride and big changes y'all are dreaming of are not possible until a NEW HC is hired. All the ingredients are at hand now short of leadership. The current situation is akin to The Skipper & Gilligan being at the helm of CVN77 The USS George H.W. Bush.

(By the way you spelled "schtick" incorrectly its shtick. You'll not be attending the CoT spelling bee this year.)

    1. Implying something in a post that is not in any way, shape, or form close to what was said in another's previous post. (See crying comment above)

    2. Unrelenting posting of the same tired points over and over.

    3. Using borrowed memes from other keyboard warriors from a site called Giphy to help with lack of true wit.

    4. Policing of grammar or spelling when trying to defend previous indefensible rhetoric.

    5. The ability to combine any of the above into one or more.

All the above are signs of a very accomplished, possibly degreed Keyboard Warrior.

Congratulations on achieving such a great honor.

Is the Clemmer kid transferring to Greenback

    Heard a rumor

I have no knowledge either way, but I would doubt it. The Clemmers are set to be QB'ing WB for the next few years with little competition.

Having said that, history does have a way of repeating itself, with regard to WB losing players.

I laughed at Mr. CrossStateTraveler. Yes it is hard. But my boys in red and black have staying power.

For the record, I am not saying they wont repeat, I just think this year has the potential to be bumpier than it has in a long time.

  6. With Maryville losing so much last year, it will be hard (not saying they wont) to repeat this year. They will have their hands full next year at Bradley Central. At least two FBS players on that team. Add in the local refs and that is a tougher game than usual. All I am saying is for the first time in a LONG time, region 2 is winnable by a team not named Maryville. Normally, Maryville just reloads, I truly think it won't be that easy this next year.

So the govs are going to get some facility improvements. Any changes that might result in more wins this year? Transfers? Additional kids wanting to play? New

Honestly it may or may not have that side effect. This is about turning something that is in unacceptable condition into something that is acceptable. Regardless of records, this is the right thing to do in my opinion.

As a long time sports fan and coach of different sports, I do believe that this will instill pride that may be lacking. This in turn may produce more effort and accountability. Might be a minimal thing, but every little bit helps.
