Did you come out of the bunker today to post this??
Football is happening in the fall. Football in the spring is not in best interest of zero parties and will be detrimental to the health of student athletes.
I agree about spring but I see football back big time in 2021 in the fall. This year not so much. They are no way they are going to allow football to happen how things are today. It’s crazy and doctors are not for it. Having everyone social distancing and wearing mask but the 100+ kids on the field it’s okay not to.

We need to move football to spring.

Well I hate we will not get to play AC this year. It will be a good game in 2021. Looking forward to it.

Let’s hope it gets better

That’s the smart money. Let’s hope it gets better with additional mask wearing.
I feel like sadness on that movie inside out. Everything is screwed up. I been thinking the worse just so I would be happy after meeting today. But that did not happen!

Schools will not be able to control social distancing in the stands or concessions. Teams will be forfeiting games because kids will get Covid. College football will not be played and NFL might not play. I do not see any way high school gets played this season

Just saw on the news where Campbell County had someone on the team test positive and their suspending any football activities for two weeks. I see this just going on and on and on all year long right into next year also. When you have that many people involved in something like football it's bound to happen. This has to be the biggest nightmare for the coaches and families putting all this hard work in living day to day waiting for one of our fearless leaders to pull the plug.
They are schools all over TN with football players testing positive and having to quarantine for two weeks. This is no contact drills. Just think if they open practice up. Crazy like I been saying they need to cancel or move to the spring and hope they get a vaccine for the ones that want to take it.

Go to the homepage and click on the article about the overall mental health of school age kids, and the rates (percentages) of depression within their ranks in the few months since school has been suspended... broaden your mind a little if you are as open minded as you'd like everyone to believe that you are. I don't fully understand your second sentence, but I'll counter with this anyway... are you saying that we should take away all those without issues freedom's because of a few that have them, when those few have the freedom of choice not to be involved? The biggest issue is that people are insisting that everyone's freedoms to be infringed upon to placate those who don't want to choose.
I can almost equate this situation to someone with a peanut allergy insisting that Jif stop selling peanut butter (no offense to those with allergies), when they can simply not buy the peanut butter.
I guess all the teams with overweight linemen is at risk. They will need to stay home because being overweight is real bad for covid.

Just not letting kids with issues play does not protect them. Are you all saying to keep everyone with issues out of school locked up ? The biggest issue would be kids spreading it to everyone they come in contact with.

Well there is whether you guys want to accept that or not. I understand it affects older people a lot more. Just try telling those kids parents that my statements arent true. I wouldnt dare say something on here or anywhere about something so serious if I didnt know for a fact it was true. Just get educated people. I just would hate to see even one kid this fall get this virus and something bad happen to them.
They have been kids die from COVID. It don’t matter if they have a underlying condition they are a lot of diabetic kids that play sports along with other issues.

A vaccine is not the answer. It's an emotional response without using any logic. Not even 50% of the population take the flu shot each year. In addition, vaccines are not going to always work even if every single person takes it. It's simply a media talking point to delay any positivity. Just like we do with the flu, we are going to have to live with this. If an outbreak happens with this in a school or business (like with the flu), we can shut it down for a week or two. Otherwise, we should be safe and smart, and go on with our lives. People can easily distance from each other at football games using smart spacing, lawn chairs, etc. This is manageable and certainly not a reason to shut everything down anyway. Kids are not at risk of dying or even getting very sick, but you'd believe otherwise by reading some of these posts or watching the continual negative news reports each day.
I agree not everyone will take the vaccine but the point is they will be a vaccine available. IMO it’s to early to say let’s go on with are lives while the virus is spreading more that it ever was.

Take a break from the media for a while...it will do you wonders! The focus on number of cases is getting so old. The death rate is plummeting everywhere and kids are not at risk whatsoever from dying or even having symptoms much at all. All your posts are virtually the same! Try getting some positive optimistic vibes in your life...all that negativity will bring you down in a hurry.
Okay so currently when I hear teams that has players test positive for COVID they suspend all practices for 1 to 2 weeks. So do you know the plan when full contact practice starts and games when a kid test positive? I’m trying to see it in a positive way but it’s hard.

Karen chiming in again with pure negative nonsense as always! It just means we're closer to playing ball. Can't wait!
I’m all for playing I just don’t see it with the numbers keep going up. The few on coach t are in denial. I hope we start a decline in cases and we get to play some Football for all the seniors but with the numbers we are seeing everyday it don’t look good!!!

How can we play when high school football players are testing positive for COVID-19 and contact has not started? Just wait till they let them start contact. Kids will be getting it left and right.

Knoxville Catholic High School shut down the football program until July 30th because 2 players tested positive.
It will only get worse

Sevierville County is in the red zone along with others. Over 2,500 cases yesterday and now 815 deaths. It’s crazy how fast death rate is raising in TN. Plus just Knox County has 1,100 active cases, its getting worse and they are thinking about playing ball and filling up the stands??? Wonder how that meeting is going to go Monday.- 1

I been hearing good things about a vaccine! That’s great news for next season. It will protect the elderly and the sick from everyone else spreading covid19
-
If cases don’t start going down no one will be playing. Where your mask
-
I can’t believe they are even considering playing football the the cases going up and the way this virus is spreading
-
If cases keep rising they will cancel season

Alabama is about to do the same-shut it down that is. I don’t know if they have discussed moving to Spring.
I hate it but it’s not worth the risk playing putting thousands at risk fans and students

To me I just think if they play football with over 100 kids on the field they don’t need mask or social distancing in the stands.
