When I watched the ceremony the other night it was obvious to me Reese Beaty should have been Miss Basketball She is the best girls player in entire state regardless of division. After watching games tonight they for sure did not pick the correct AAA Mr Basketball either. What in the world. Not even close.

Agree with this post! With the transfer portal the way it is now I think alot of people do not understand how difficult it is for boys to get d1 offers. You have a lot of local fans that think if someone is good for the area they are going power 5. That is not the case. Some people just do not understand the process or understand difference in talent levels. Tyler Tanner is amazing and if he was taller he could go and produce anywhere he wanted to.

Lost in championship to Briarcrest Christian. Both teams were full of division 1 players. Fun to watch! I love watching good basketball.

Oh wow. If you have not heard of him then you don't really keep up with basketball across the state of TN. You are more of just a local Upperman fan and that is perfectly fine- nothing wrong with that. But when we mention best in state that takes a little broader vision. He is signed with Vanderbilt and plays for Brentwood Academy. Look him up - you will see he is on a different level than you will see in your district or mine. Also - Jahvin Carter signed with penn state and plays for Alcoa. Lots of amazing players in TN

Wow. Thats impressive. Well there may be a debate amongst stone and Upperman fans who is better between capps or Cobb. But as a York fan I can say neither of them or anybody York has ever had is in the league of Tyler Tanner. He is a special player and is for sure the best in the state. Like I said earlier , we have some great ones that are fun to watch. Hope they all have lots of success. Rooting for them all.

Dodgen seems like a good coach. In the games I have watched it seems like the girls relate to him well. Sometimes the best teams do not make it to the state. Not always the coaches fault.

Wow I will have to watch Cobb play some more. Sounds like he has a bright future. I watch the Capps kid play against york twice every year and he is super impressive. Gets face guarded and double teams and still scores. Very skilled. I watched Stone at upperman and the Cobb kid must have had an off night because Capps looked better that night but that's the only Stone / Upperman matchup I saw this year. I look for Capps to be Mr Basketball. He has great numbers and percentages Glad we have another upper Cumberland star coming up in Cobb

Tyler Tanner best player in state 100%. Jahvin Carter is also amazing. Jett Montgomery is high on list also. They are all seniors. Cade Capps is great too and a junior. So many great players in our state. Fun to watch

Ok it seems you are having trouble following the progression of this post so let help you. I posted on this after reading the first post on this topic that said Stone handled the junk and capps got all teammates involved ( please see above first post that started this topic since you must be skipping around). That is what i was replying to. it was a response to the info given in the post. i did not start the post. i assumed the junk may have been referring to a "junk" defense which some coaches use to stop good players considering the fact that I watched dekalb co run a box and one on capps last year. maybe they dont do that this year,I was not at the last game and dont care to be honest. bilbrey may be a better player, i do not know. i hope he is, that would be awesome i only have watched some and i talk to other people and read papers for my info. sorry that me mentioning the talented "Other" player got under your skin . that must be a personal issue for you. I have no idea what the big ordeal is. i personally could care less who is better and dont see why it matters and is not why i posted. Thats what is wrong with people today, it always has to be a comparing game between players. support them all! I simply bragged on both players and the team dont know that much even about the team other than the few times york dont play and I happen to watch.. i like basketball and supporting local athletes. I am always supportive and thats all i ever post about it positive. Also you must have forgotten that YOU said "bilbrey may have something to say about who is betteer" YOU said that so i thought maybe their is animosity within. I do not even know those kids but from your comment it sounded like it.thanks for clarifying their isnt because this team can be reallhy good. Personally I doubt Bilbrey would care becasue kids dont normally worry about this crazy stuff it is always jealous adults. Two players can be great on the same team. It is possible. have a great day. once again- Go Stone!Go Entire Stone Team! Go entire upper cumberland. lets build these local players up, we are lucky to have so much talent in our area

Look, I will end this by saying for the third time, I think bilbrey is an awesome player. amazing player. just like ALL my post have said. I am just an upper cumberland fan that supports high school athletes. I am always positive and for the kids. not sure how in the world me bragging on two good players and a good team was found offensive. wow. I will close out and get off this thread by saying go stone, wish you well and I will focus back to supporting my fentress co teams for a bit

For sure was not discrediting Bilbrey and didnt realize their was animosity within. Have not watched this year but The games I have seen in the past years he is awesome thats why I said in my post that these teams that put so much defense on capps get burned by players like Bilbrey. simply stating that Capps has an unbelievable upside with size and skill and what he has done for his age rarely ever happens. No need to compare in this situation. they seem to be well coached and i am sure the coach is very happy to have both and is managing the situation great as shown in their success. best of luck to both players and all the upper cumberland teams including white co who is loaded with talent once they get rolling

Mitchell is a good coach as well. I went to the york game so i didnt see it but heard Sparta shot bad. It happens, Best of luck to them as well. Its a long season, they will figure it out

Thats what I love about Stone. Noticed it last year. Capps is the best overall player with most upside but they have others that can step up when teams focus defense solely on him. The senior Bilbrey is tough. Well coached team. they will go far

Yes number 3 i believe is a jr and will be back next yr. Early in the year when york played them twice the capps kid ( freshman) was scoring bulk of points. A parent told me he started drawing double teams and the other guard has stepped up. Well coached team with bright future. I believe greenville should win it all. The gillespie kid is amazing

Agree stone will be back. The freshman has been impressive all year. He didnt shoot well today like he normally does but still looked good against the greeneville athletes. Their point guard has really stepped up his game since we played them earlier in season. Good team and I know they are proud

I was not talking about level. I was talking about Mr basketball. He avg 29 and 8 reb shot great percentages and 95% from ft. Kid that got it avg 15 and 8 and on the ucr broadcoast they said he was 61% ft shooter. Not mr basketball numbers. Also capps has d1 offers as jr and the other kid does not as a senior No way it makes sense. I have watched him play about 10 times and gets doubled and is focused on and still scores. As for Reese beaty I have watched her play 100 times and she can play power 5. Great point guard with strong frame.
