They were laughing at the things being yelled at them by the fans. It came from the section on the opposite end from the student section. Far left if you are at midfield facing Huntington’s side. You could hear very clearly what was being said

Yeah, I’m sure it didn’t help the player that was down to hear the “support” from his own crowd. You could clearly hear some of them yelling at #17 specifically. Funny thing is it seems to be one guy that yells then others just repeat, pretty sure that guy has had a kid or step kid playing for Huntingdon for the last 20 years and he’s always the loudest and most obnoxious person in the stands, regardless of the sport.

i feel bad. you want to be funny. but you just arent. im done talking about them. im calling 7-3. what are you predicting

Not trying to be funny, just think it’s a reach to say one player was all the team had. A little research shows that there are at least 5 players from that team last year who are playing college football this Fall, not counting Simpson. They were talented all over the field. After looking at their schedule I think Dresden, Peabody, Fairview, UC, and Huntingdon will be tough games for them. Southside should be much improved too. 7-3 sounds close but not just because the QB graduated.

if you saw even just the title game he was their entire team. id predict a 7-3 season but i dont want to go too far. lol

Yeah, It was amazing watching him throw the ball, catch the ball, block for himself, punt, kick off, kick extra points, play defense and I assume he coached himself also. Good thin they didn't line up 11, they would have beat Hampton by 100.

  4. This has happened 2 times in Weakley County in the past 3 years. Talk about putting a team and administration in a bad spot. For two weeks they thought they had their guy just for him to jump ship and they have to start a new search. You have to wonder if any others were passed up for this job that had to be contacted again. "We didn't want you before but we really like you now". I'm not too sure I would be too interested in a job that I was the 2nd choice a coup of weeks ago. Does this hurt Rice's future opportunities at a head coaching job? Coaches preach commitment and team all of the time but it doesn't always seem like it applies to them.

  5. Word is the Jackets only had 20 players before the coach left and it seems the quarterback left also. No word on coaching hire when all other teams are into summer workouts. It would have been tough if they hired someone a month ago and gets exponentially harder every day they don't have a coach. Is there a legitimate chance they don't even play football in Greenfield this year?

That comparison is so ignorant.  I wonder if you're drunk half the time you get on Coacht with some of these crazy posts you put on here.

Karly was also offered by TN as a freshman, Alabama wasn't her only offer (numerous major D1 offers)..  had she not committed over the summer, she'd be flooded with more.

Karly played against Tess & Chloe at state as a freshman and was the best player on the court.  Jada is a stud, no doubt.  Her ball handling is probably a tad better than Karly's, probably a tad quicker, but other than that Karly has been better at every other part of the game against as good or better competition.  I guess we'll find out Tomorrow.  Hope they both play to the best of their ability!  Gonna be an exciting game.

What a whiney little baby! Because someone has a different opinion than you then he must be drunk? Typical "chat room bully" that can't stand a different point of view.

  7. You have to think that the Milan faithful who actually have a vested financial and emotional interest in Bulldog football didn't like the fact that kids came to Milan ONLY to play football, regardless of how they got there or if it was within the rules, and didn't produce a coveted state championship. Those transfer kids and their "families" didn't contribute financially, emotionally, or otherwise to Milan football in the long run outside the field of play. You see it with the private schools, when the people actually paying the bills realize the scholarship kids are taking way more than they are giving, things start going South for coaches, administration, and fans. Add losing a bunch of games to the mix, I know it was all injuries that caused that, and the wheels fall off at a rapid pace. I wouldn't know the coach or hardly anybody in Milan if they slapped me but I would be willing to bet that when the "handler" approached whoever they did  about the kids coming to Milan, they all probably wish they had told them to head on down the road to SG or WV. Diffee would probably still be gainfully employed and the team would have won just as many games. I do appreciate BPM's passion, love for the program, and career choice as an educator so understand these are  personal opinions stated above so be nice.

Take away Simpson there probably would have been two or  three others schools from the west with a chance to win the gold ball.

Take away any team's best player and the results are almost always different. Take away one of Huntingdon's 1500 yard running backs and they may lose several more games this year.

Everything fell just right for Westview. Dropping to 2A helped, but without Simpson it wouldn't have mattered. The Chargers were head and shoulders better this season than in the past 20 or so years, and maybe their best team in wayyy longer than that. As good as Simpson is, the team wouldn't be what they are without him personnel wise either...there were kids on the field this year that wouldn't have been without knowing their odds of a gold ball went through the roof with his talent.

These statements are silly, I don't understand why people want to say the other 60 kids that have worked their tails off since June don't really matter in the grand scheme of things. Football is a team sport until a team has a excellent player then the other kids are irrelevant?

  9. I really thought Hampton would stick with the game plan and not panic when they got down a couple of scores but they didn’t. Just like several other teams did this year like Huntingdon, Fairley, and MAHS. Westview just had way too many athletes in the secondary to throw lazy deep balls. The defensive backs were basically their receivers and they proved all year that they can go catch a ball. #12 and #17 specifically were huge on both sides of the ball. Martin’s radio station said before the game that the turnover for the year ratio was -32 with 25 interceptions for the year. You win a bunch of games when you win the turnover battle.

I wouldn’t say one horse. Ty was very elusive. We had pressure on him a lot, good play designs with swing the rb out to our spy’s side, 12, 17, and 2 all could go. Anderson impressed me both ways. It was a game we had to score every possession.

Great game played by both teams. It all came down to who got a stop, just so happened that Westview got a stop before the half and got the ball first in the 2nd, kinda over after a quick score and another stop. I too was impressed with Anderson, I really don’t think he ever came off the field, offense, defense, returned punts and kickoffs.  Martin’s radio station said he was the 1st 1000 yard receiver for a year ever at Westview and that he was in 10th place all time in Tennessee for receiving TDs in a season with 18. Good luck to them next weekend, may have to sign up for the NFHS racket to watch that one.

Agreed hope westview brings as many as the tide did in the same situation a few years back

Are there bleachers on both sides of the stadium? I thought about making the trip, I looked at an aerial view and it doesn’t look like there are. Just wondering.

Trenton by 3 TDs you heard it here 1st

I just don’t see Lake county being that much better than McKenzie. I’ve seen them both and McKenzie. McKenzie gets the win in this one, Peabody has been playing uninspired since the kickoff against Huntingdon, or before but the lack of competition in their region didn’t reveal the lackluster performance.

  13. I made the trip over to check this game out. Very good football game all the way around. #2 for MAHS is definitely an athlete but Simpson is better. MAHS couldn’t move the ball on the ground and cost themselves nearly every time they threw it. Way too many athletes in the Westview secondary,  which basically looked like their wide receiver corps. I did notice that the visitors stands had very few MAHS fans, cheerleaders, and people wearing Huntingdon stuff….lol

  14. If this game is close it could come down to the kickers and Trenton has a solid one. I watched Huntingdon warm up and I swear there were at least 5 different kids practicing PATs, and most of them looked like linemen. I will say that they didn't miss any during the game but they weren't pretty to say the least. I couldn't believe any of them split the uprights.

  15. I made the trip to Martin to watch the game and some of the pregame posts are spot on. 1. Huntingdon plays hard and  very physical. 2. Their DBs couldn’t guard #12 and #17 in a phone booth. Neither stood out  just by looks but they were open all night. 3. Simpson can play. It seemed like the Mustangs conceded early though. Only down 12 with 8 minutes to go and still running the QB to the sideline to get the play, play clock in single digits every snap. Pretty sure they took several timeouts home with them also.

Do either of these teams have any players with college offers besides Westview's QB?

I’m not sure about these teams but the transfer portal and extra eligibility because of Covid has really hurt 2022 and 2023 kids. It will probably take several years for things to settle down. Seems like every FCS school has multiple power 5 transfers now, makes it hard on a 17-18 year old high school kid to get a roster spot.

Well  Camden played Westview and I really wasn't impressed at all. They were not physically better than us and we are not that physical.. Camden fumbled 7 or 8 times deep in our end (bad snaps nothing  forced}. Westview really never drove the field. They had a few big runs.

If a bunch of softies made Camden cough it up 7 or 8 times in two quarters,  since that’s all they played, those hard nose Mustangs will make them put it on the ground 14-16 times in a half.

Also, remember, we have won 4 State Championships in the last 10 years running this offense. Last nights play calling was terrible. So you didn’t get to see what we can do, plus the fact that WV was ready for anything we had in our pocket

Oh I know it has worked but kids just don't want to play that kind of football. Do you think Peabody would have all of those skill guys if they knew they would line up at WR and run dummy routes for 4 quarters? #22 for UC is a good looking athlete and he basically did exactly that last night. Seems like it would be hard to get a kid like that to commit to the offseason grind at UC when he could just go to an airconditioned gym and play basketball in the summer.

  19. 10 hours ago, BigSwoShow said:

That’s it in a nutshell. No diversity on offense.

Do you think that type of offense has anything to do with low numbers at UC? I know it wins games but is it keeping some athletes from playing football? The spread is so much more enticing to skill type kids. You really need all of the athletes in a school the size of UC to play multiple sports.

  20. UC gambled and deferred after winning the toss which looked like a good decision for a quarter. They sold out on stopping the passing game and couldn’t stop the run to save their lives! Simpson may have had 5 completions for 50 yards but they still scored at will. Zero pass attempts by UC so Chargers just bowed up and stopped the veer all night.
