I was there! And I know kids on both teams. They were both full strength.
Both at full strength last game also and what was the final score??????
UC had off night 1st game. Nothing against SF they are just not on same level as UC this year.

It’s is Union City’s to win as long as they don’t get comfortable and they continue to play lights out like they have all year. Their region is weak which has allowed brooks to be able to facilitate plays for other players and give himself some rest. Come tournament time you will see the 30 and 40point games coming back out of him. The tough first of the year schedule only made them better and it’s no doubt that 1A is theirs to win if they continue to play hard.

I don’t think you can speak about 1a without mentioning Union City. They are off to a fast start and have one of the best pound for pound guards in the state in Malaki Brooks. He is averaging 30.5 pts per game and is lightning up the scoreboard against quality opponents. This team with Brooks has a good chance to play in the glasshouse and bring home some hardware.
Last 4 games
47pt
31 pts
37pts
41pts

I have had the privilege to watch this young man grow up due to him being in the same grade a my son. He is imo one of the best if not the best player pound for pound in the state. He can hit from anywhere and is not afraid to drive to the rim. He is averaging right at 30pts per game and has hit the 40’s several times this year including 41 today against the Tennessee Heat. Pure athlete and should be able to play where he wants. He is small but any college can put him into a strength and conditioning program and get him alittle bigger, but the sky is the limit for this kid and if colleges pass on him they are missing out. Keep playing hard and doing what you do Mali.
Go Tornados!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Union City brings back a ton of experience and a lot of fire power from the new freshman. And they also return All Region and UC record holder J Rogers at Goalie and All Region Defender in C Robinson. Look for this to be a great season.

Yea you right & guess that’s why their seasons come up short year after year bc the silver spoons don’t prepare them for adversity & it shows!!!!!
No silver spoons here, they just aren’t the plastic ones like you steal from the Dairy Queen. A better thought shut up your smart mouth or I don’t mind doing it for you. Don’t down kids on this site.

No but hasn’t post since August. But he definitely entitled to his opinion. Hope he is wrong like he was when he picked McKenzie to beat Dresden.

I saw the Dresden/Westview game and watched Mckenzie play Huntington. Mckenzie don't have any receivers as big or as physical as the kid from Westview plus he was the fastest kid on the feild The Qb from Mckenzie is better than Westviews but his guys are possession receivers (10 to 15 yards) . Dresden will be a bigger challenge to stop offensively than Huntington was ( they aren't running an offense from the eighties) After watching both teams play I would give Mckenzie a 7 to 10 point edge

I dont get the excitement from towns that run triple option, veer offense. My son played travel baseball with kids from Huntington and their parents were the same way . To hear them talk it's the greatest offense in football. It's boring football to watch and if you get down by a couple scores running it the game is over. Union City has talent all over the feild and year after year run the same 10 or 12 plays. It works until they play a well coached team that matches up physically. This game will go the same way it did when Dresden won the state championship. The 1st game was close and the 2nd game wasn't.
You entitled to your opinion just like everyone is but like I said, you nor I can predict this game. It will be the young men on the field. Also we have a few more than 10-12 plays and the may be boring but they are effective. Proof being 4 State Championships running the boring offense. See you Friday!!!!!!!!!

Ok folks this Friday will be a showdown. Dresden brings a great team that is undefeated this year including a 3pt win over Union City. Union City comes in and seems to be hitting their stride now more than ever. Defense is relentless, Offense is not only blasting as usual up the middle but also flying around the edges. Will it be a blow out? NO!!!!!! Does Union City have a sour taste in their mouth over a game they could have won the 1st time? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dresden has home field advantage but Union City fans travel well and this team seems to like playing on the road as their record shows. Both teams respect each other and know that it won’t be an easy win. The road to the Championship runs through this game in my opinion. The fans and the field won’t determine this game only the young men and their determination will decide this game. The new season has started now and both teams are 2-0. Let play some good ole West Tennessee football.
GO Tornados!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
