To answer the question of how many starters are back.  It is 5 on offense and 5 on defense.  But remember this....those kids who didn't "start" last year, played EVERY game.  So they have the experience.  Our concern coming in this year was replacing 4 of the 5 lineman.  We returned 1 true starting offensive lineman.  With that said, our line is doing a pretty good job this year.

    Again, don't count us out.

If anyone is counting McKenzie out, they have not been paying attention.

cornersville seemed to give mckenzie a good and eagleville knocked off the 2 seed from that region. i also think fayetteville is a solid win despite the down year. franklin county was also a big team with athletes and still couldn’t compete with mc

I actually took into consideration that Fayetteville had such a tough schedule. I wasn't basing their merit off their record. I just didn't feel that the Tigers had quite the punch of years past. I definitely didn't mean any disrespect. All the teams had athletes and some teams like Collinwood and Franklin Co had size. I just felt overall the schedule MC faced wasn't as stiff as what some of their western counterparts have faced.

  3. I try to be a reasonable Raider fan if there is such a thing lol. Our regular season schedule was soft. We tackled Cascade, Fayetteville, Franklin Co, and Forrest out of region. I mean no disrespect to any of these schools but they all had down years compared to seasons past. Within the region, you just have to play the schedule that's dealt. While Eagleville and Cornersville were tough nuts to crack, they don't compare to teams like McKenzie, Dresden, nor Union City. I don't want to take away from Moore Co. They have talent and it's tough to go undefeated no matter what region you are in. The real competition starts now. Whether teams come in at this point battle tested or not, now is the time you either put up or shut up. Is Moore Co really that great? Is McKenzie really that much worse off than the past two years? Friday night will solve it and Lord willing we will all witness a fantastic matchup of amazing talent. Can't wait!

(McKenzie has had our number the last two times out so right now they are still the bully on the block.)

Good job to all these kids and coaches on making the elite 8. I think it is gonna end up

    Dresden vs Moore Co

    South Pitt vs Coalfield

Championship Moore Co vs South Pitt

Champion Moore Co in a brawl over S. Pitt

I definitely can't argue your picks. All these teams are excellent but I wouldn't be surprised if Union City makes a trip to whiskey country in round 4 but let's enjoy round 3 first.

Hats off to Eagleville by the way. Not sure what they have coming back for next year but I'm sure they'll be a region competitor.

There are 3 other teams in the West not named Moore Co that are very good teams.

I saw one of them tonight beat Mase

Union City, Dresden, McKenzie, and Moore Co... You couldn't ask for a better quad than that in the Wild West.

Meanwhile the other side of the bracket I believe will come down to South Pitt and Coalfield.

Congrats, the Elite Eight has been set!

You said only 1 pass. I raised you by 10 to 10 total passes between Tullahoma Cats and Page Patriots. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

You're missing the boat, Capt. You only predict sure bets. You aren't really telling the forum anything we don't know or couldn't predict ourselves.

Page Patriots were not guaranteed to mercy rule Tullahoma Cats in this game. Tullahoma Cats are not a bad team. Tullahoma Cats will be ready to play hard. It will happen. I guarantee it. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

Then why not put that point spread at 28 or 30?

  8. This just in...

CaptGuru is predicting a forward pass will take place tonight if anyone would like to place a bet against it. He realizes it's quite the gamble but sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind like a forward pass. I haven't gotten him to approve this message yet. He's still working on the rest of his "locks" of the week. Stay tuned.

Page Patriots will win this game by more than 17 points over Tullahoma Wildcats. Page Patriots are too good and will win this game. I guarantee it. I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

Capt, folks are going to be disappointed that read this thread later. You are calling for a big, decisive Page victory and you put the over/under at a measly 17 points??? I thought confident, message approved OldGuru would at least put it at 35. Losing faith in your prognosticating ability?

I think the Tullahoma defense and special teams will keep this game close for a half. I really think the defense is that good. I think you just have to hope to get to the 2nd half and just see if you can create something. I’m afraid the defense will wear down just like the Shelbyville game unless the offense can get something going. In addition, Tullahoma will need defense/special teams scoring. Hoping for a good game, I’ll be making the trip. Go ‘Cats!

I totally agree with ya. Keep it close to the half and hope most breaks go your way.

Tullahoma Cats will not be able to mercy rule Page Patriots in this game. It will not happen. I guarantee it. Page Patriots are too good for that to happen. I believe Page Patriots will beat Tullahoma Cats decisively in this game. Do you want to bet? I am Captain Guru and I approve this message.

You always guarantee the obvious on every thread you chime in on. Obviously Tullahoma will not mercy rule Page. Your screen name should have been Captain Obvious instead of Guru.

  12. I figured I would at least start a game day thread since no fans are chatting about it nor media members. I'm guessing most don't think there's much to discuss and that it's a foregone conclusion.

Hoping Tullahoma's defense is stout causing several turnovers. Hoping special teams can be consistent and field position can be flipped often with a solid punting game. Hoping the offense can find their footing in the run game and that there can be just enough passing to keep the defense honest. Hope springs eternal.

Good luck to both squads tonight!

Good luck to both teams tonight! I think in the end MC wins this one on their way to state this year. I will say though that Eagleville probably matches up against them better than anyone else in our region. Hoping for great close game and none of this mercy rule stuff! 8-)

I believe you'll get your wish. I just don't see the mercy rule coming into play.

I think Eagleville will be fired up, and wanting to be the spoilers. Especially after thumping West Carrol.

Yeah MC definitely has the target on their back as the hunted. Eagleville can play literally like they have nothing to lose. Don't get me wrong. I think MC wins. I just think the Eagles have improved from the first meeting and will definitely be motivated.

(I just want to see McKenzie and Moore battle it out next round so badly!)
