I understand where you are coming from. However, we all know Milan and Peabody played with a few players that had transferred into their program. Here's the tough pill to swallow, no matter what the restrictions are, schools that are predominately dominant in football are going to find ways to bend the rules or find a loop hole. I do want what is best for the athlete and I do want to see them be successful, but I also want to see the TSSAA think about something different to prevent more transferring. The people that represent that schools that gets transfers coming in, will always say, "it happens everywhere."

Trenton’s transfers transferred 3 years ago!!!! And waited their turn!

Peabody remains a power as long as Tab Vowell is around, he is easily the best D Coordinator in West TN and arguably the state. Everybody is talking about The City’s running back but forgetting that Peabody has shut down pretty much every offense they have faced since Tab came to town.

Thank you!! I have been saying this for awhile now and I keep getting grief over it.

  3. Let me say this the 2 best teams in 2A football in TN. will play Saturday at 3:00pm. Both Teams have a lot on the line in this game for each of their respected schools and communities . If Meigs wins it will be their 1st gold ball and if Peabody wins it will be a three peat and their 4th gold ball so all of the banter is fun until fans bring kids by name and number into your conversations. This is for football talk and a place to talk your team up not a pen!! comparison site. These kids deserve all the respect in the world!!!! I expect a very hard fought game from both teams. We all ought to be thankful that they are able to play considering what the world is going through at this time! May the best Team Win!!

    ROLL TIDE!!!!!

Just read some stats on a preview of Saturday’s game.

Khalik Ganaway, RB: 209 Carries, 1,582 Yards, 21 TDs

Will Meadows, RB: 198 Carries, 1,780 Yards, 31 TDs
pretty impressive the stats put up by Meadows especially considering he’s done it in 3 less games. (Sat out because of Covid week 1 and 2 Covid wins). Don’t know how many games Peabody had missed. Finalist vs finalist.

Khalik has only played a full game 3 or 4 times this year the rest he did not play after half time. Pretty impressive huh!

It is championship week. How AWESOME is this for both communities! I think this game shows the character of these players from both of these teams. People on here keep bringing up last year, but I am pretty sure both sides heard that they couldn't make it back to Cookeville because of what each team lost. THESE kids have put in the work on both sides and are here to prove people wrong. Both teams have great line play (the 2 best in 2A imo) which is what you need to be successful, hence they are playing for a state title. Which one is better, we will see at 3:00 on Saturday.

    Good stuff.

You forgot he wasn’t utilized as much last year as he will be Saturday and your defense isn’t as stifling as last year either. By the way, the amount of exclamation points used doesn’t correlate to making your argument stronger. God Bless America and Go Tigers.

Good luck Saturday. Time will tell then maybe you will understand why I used so many exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They did run the ball well against TC.  They had a couple of big plays that gave Meadows big yardage.  He is a good back but we have played against good backs for years now.  Waverly's back and QB are the real deal and we contained them.  Of course I don't think Wavo has the line play that Meigs has but they were still awfully good.  McKenzie had guys who could take it to the house anytime, so did UC, and Milan.  We are not intimidated by Meadows one year improvement. I'm sure he was that good last year.  He should have not been in the shadow of Swafford so much.  With that said, I have seen him on tape and he is good in the open field and he out runs everyone but he has not seen the closing speed of Peabody this year.  But I could be wrong.

I expect a good game. Saturday will tell!!!!

They rushed for 329 yards, they dominated the LOS in 1st half, 2nd half I thought it was closer to 50/50, TC had a bend but don’t break defense all year, give up yards but limit points was their game plan and it worked holding Meigs to their season low of 16 points

    Thanks for the info.

False information was spread about them though. “Couldn’t run on TC.” Tell your buddy not to do that, and I won’t have to bring the truth to light.
I’m not gonna let you stuck up fans drag our players.

If you run it down their throat the score would not have been 16 to 13 it would have been a 42 to 7 like our score was. You have no clue!!! You will see soon enough!!!! Good luck!

Meadows is a year stronger and experienced. He will make a difference this year.  The biggest threat is the QB for Meigs this year.  He is a dual threat.  Meigs is coached extremely well from the HC down.  They will prepare well.  I noticed last year Peabody didn’t have to punt ANY.  That’s huge, but won’t be the case this year.  This will either be a shootout like 38-35, or low scoring like 14-10.

I have said it will be a good game but Meigs will not line up and run the ball down Trentons throat. Time will tell!!!

Quit talking about last week and last year. We ain’t McKenzie and we weren’t Ripley last year.  It was a 1 score game until we gave you the ball inside the ten. You wore us down. Good job!  This team is different. Meadows plays 1 way, Carrol plays some D. They won’t get tired. AND if you miss Meadows at the line you just need to get ready for X Point.

I guess you forgot that we faced Meadows last year too!!!!! Good luck and get rocked!!!!

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but Meigs running it down Trentons throat last year in the first half is how we were winning 16-7 at halftime. We didn’t sling it all around the field to score those points. Trenton definitely tightened up in the second half though and we couldn’t stop Dickson.

No excuse for ignorance!!!! Watch the game from now on!

Haven’t seen Peabody enough to make a prediction but I will say... Meigs has a good defensive line and loves to run the ball down your throat. They did just that against the future 1A 2020 State Champs this year along with many other teams. However, in big games like this, a team can rarely be 1-dimensional and win the game. I see Meigs having to use their receivers and backs out of the backfield to keep the LB’s and Secondary honest and not keying on the run every play. Making the trip last year will also help them settle in faster this go around. Hope to see a good one and as always... bring gold back East

They will not run the ball on Peabody! Mark my word!
