Maybe not, but they have hung a gold ball since Gordy has.
This is true. Beat us like a drum the year before they hoisted the gold as well

I am a Pirate fan so I hope you are right but I heard the same thing last year as well.
I guess anything can happen but I just don’t see it. Looks and feels like you guys are on another level this year and we aren’t as good as we have been

You never know. You might line up and beat the snot out of Whitwell from the opening kick. Gordonsville is always capable of bringing a great game to their opponents.
Defintely could happen. And the opposite could happen, they could beat the snot out of us from the opening kick.
But then whoever wins this one, has to go to Pirate country. That will be the end of the line for either team

It’ll be close game but Gordonsville will pull away at the end. Next year might be different cause Whitwell is junior loaded like Marion is this year. Who knows
Gordonsville is young too. We should be better in the next few years. Lost a lot from last years senior class so somewhat of a rebuilding year for us. I think this one will be close. We are going to have to be better up front to win imo.
No matter the winner of this one, both of us will be watching basketball within the next 2 weeks

SM will probably keep this one closer than the last matchup but I still say Bees by a few scores

Once again, milk jugs with rocks for the student section this week to bring some noise would be nice.
For SP the message is the same as every week: Trust your preparation.
Prepared or not. If your boys get to the field by 7:00 you will win by 4 scores

SP has only been clobbered in a State title game once in 13 appearances and that was by Brentwood Academy in 1974, 38 - 7.
If I was a betting man, I’d bet my life savings on the Pirates NOT getting blown out by anybody this year

Very well could. I don't have any insight on teams in the east. I basically just go by record and margin of victory. I know that isn't the right way to do it, but like I said, I don't know anything about any teams outside of West TN pretty much. Nothing against Gordonsville with my pick.
No offense taken. I haven’t seen Whitwell either but going by common scores against Chatt Prep and Bledsoe Co makes me think we are pretty evenly matched so I think it could be a coin flip

Here are my selections for round 2. Listed as round 3 match-ups.
Oliver Springs vs Coalfield
South Pitt vs Whitwell
Moore Co. vs Mckenzie
Dresden vs Mase
I think there are 2 games this week that could be labeled as upsets, but I would go more as toss-ups to me. Remember, this is my opinion and nothing more. Mckenzie and Collinwood and Union City and Mase. I think those could go either way.
Looks pretty spot on. Our game (Gordonsville) against Whitwell could probably go either way as well but with how we have played the last 2 weeks, I wouldn’t be surprised if Whitwell moves on

Dresden is a good choice. Right now, I actually think they've got the best shot at winning it all. They will be more battle tested.
Flip side of that is that you guys will be more rested and less likely to have guys banged up. Either could help or hurt. Depends on which way you look at it

Are there no Whitwell posters?
-
SP 42
Clay 7 (maybe)

@TheBlueprint, we are setting down new ground rules for posting scores. You need to abide.
Don’t know what in the world I was thinking. I will be better next week

Who talks about SP so much? For our posters and our ranking I think we’re relatively quiet honestly.
You guys get talked about by a lot of 1A and even 2A posters and for good reason. The road the championship game in the east runs through you guys most years so you guys deserve to get talked about

Worst live game updates I have ever witnessed. I've seen some bad posters on here over the years. You take the Simpleton award. Congrats.

How can you say that when Whitwell beat them in the regular season. Js
I think he is just stating that Prep had better athletes on the field that Whitwell. Same goes for Prep against us last night. They were far more athletic and had better speed. The difference comes from coaching and team discipline/ camaraderie which Prep did not have at all

How much you want to bet that you guys win every game the first 4 rounds by 30?
Did you ever take me up on this bet? I’m willing to put some crisp bills on this

Prep made it tough on us with their speed and we couldn’t seem to tackle very well. On offense we couldn’t really do anything. They had better athletes all across the field. Even when we would had a nice play that looked like it could go the distance, they chased us down from behind. Overall, they were way more athletic but the difference imo was coaching and team camaraderie
