  1. I was very impressed with Moore County last week. Not many 1A teams have success in the passing game like they did. I'll take MC in this one. Fayetteville seems to shoot themselves in the foot with unsportsmanlike penalties. Also, it is pretty impressive that two of the best athletes that will be on the field are freshman.

  2. I watched the first game on livestream. The Covington announcers were the best I've heard in high school football. "HOW ABOUT THAT HENRYYY!!" However it seemed that Milan had Covington's offense figured out and they had no answer for the Milan defensive game plan. Milan had a hard time consistently moving the ball as well, but I think Milan had more success than Covington. Taking the Dawgs 21-7

One or two big plays/a couple turnovers could be the difference

Let’s take a pole on Huntingdon fans that this will be a plow out. I’m a no

If Moore County can have a couple of big passing plays or long runs this game will be close, but if this game consists of putting together long drives consistently and controlling the line of scrimmage I like Huntingdon by a couple scores.

slow power team? they scored 43 in the second quarter vs Wayne County and only one starter who happens to be a freshman played in the second half..... so I hope that this was a joke lol

Yea apparently Moore county has 7 kids that run a 4.4. Might be the fastest team in the state including the Tennessee Titans and Volunteers.

Now you know. Don’t hate because you can’t believe a truth. Several years again when I played we had at least 9 running 4.4-4.6. I know for a fact so it’s not out of the norm.

Buddy I don't think you realize how fast a 4.4 40 is. You're telling me you had 9 guys faster than the top 10 fastest Running backs in the NFL?  https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2675287-the-10-fastest-running-backs-in-the-nfl     :roflol:

Like you said. You never know.Union City was in Single A.Lake co could say the same.Had Union City not been Single A,could had more probably.Plus take into fact Lake Co had a couple seasons with 2 or 3 losses, only to have star recruited to Dyer Co and Dyersburg. The team with Brandon Springer ,Sep Valentine ,lost on a last second play with a team facing a 4th and about 12 and behind by about 5 points.Defender went for the ball to intercept, instead of making the tackle to win the game. That team went on to pummel Mt .Pleasant and won the state. And the best player to probably ever play at Lake Co was playing for Dyer co,Andre Flowers.Hes has all the Dyer Co rushing records. So it's not like Lake Co has really been down  those years. But 3 state championships, about 4 state runnerups, not too bad for a small rural true Single A team.

There will always be hypotheticals. I remember the 2011-2012 Huntingdon team went 10-0 and lost in the 3rd round to Wayne County (who went on to win state). During the regular season beat Milan (24-13) who made it to the state championship in 3A and also beat Dresden (42-13) who made it to the state championship in 2A. I believe if Huntingdon was 2A that year they would've won state. For a while 1A was tougher than 2A in my opinion.

You know not many programs can lose 90% of their starters last year and come back with a very competitive team the next year. Testimony to our great program. These kids have conditioned to be Mustangs since they were babies. They may get beat but I promise you they won't be nervous or intimidated.

Most 1A programs have a couple good classes that make good teams every 10 years or so, then when they graduate it causes for down years. The mustangs seem to never run into this problem. The most consistent 1A program in Tennessee in my opinion. South Pitt is right there with them.

You can throw all that outta the window this year. From my understanding, you guys lost everyone from last year, so this year's team is in the same boat as ours. I like our chances with not only 1, but 2 of our Mr. Football finalists.

Huntingdon doesn't rebuild. New guys step up every year and have Huntingdon ranked in the top 5 in the state year in and year out. I think this game is won by Huntingdon at of the line of scrimmage.

Would have to agree just note this is a different team and some of these guys have been to the big dance twice and got rings to prove it. Also our coach has been there as well. Believe me you guys have our respect. These seniors are well aware what usually happens on that carpet. Cant wait to compete

Going to be a great game. I believe Moore County can pull it out if this game is a shootout and Moore County has a lot of big plays. If not I'm taking Huntingdon. Can't wait to watch.

I've heard it every year on this site. Man, I need to find out where you do your banking @CovidQB. If they are giving out loans for the Mustangs to win pressured-playoff games in November then they must have a lot of money on standby.

Moore County would be ecstatic to have had the success Huntingdon has had in recent years. Any 1A team in Tennessee would. Most towns have celebrations for making to the 3rd and 4th round of playoffs, but when you have the tradition and expectations that Huntingdon does, it's state championship or bust.

We're used to stopping the run with slow running backs. Don't think yall are prepared to stop the spread with our athletes we will have all over the field. Gonna be another end to a season on the "magic" carpet. MC - 28, Huntingdon - 12

Moore County may have more athletes, but one thing they don't have that Huntingdon does is "recent" TRADITION (and a state of the art turf field). Huntingdon plays in the big games year in and year out. Most of the Huntingdon players are used to the pressure of big games and I think that gives Huntingdon a huge advantage.  Take out a loan and put it on the Stangs.

First off, TheCovidQB might be the greatest CoachT name of all time. It has nearly rendered me speechless with it's greatness.

I think Fayetteville comes into this game over-confident. Bruceton has improved over the course of the year and from the one game I have gotten to see this year of Fayetteville although big and fast they are an undisciplined football team. An over confident undisciplined football team met with an improving well coached Bruceton could spell disaster for the Tigers. I also think Bruceton can control the line of scrimmage

I appreciate the compliment! I agree with you that Bruceton could make this game interesting. If their defense plays to its potential it could be a really good game. I think if Fayetteville gets ahead by two scores in the first or second quarter Bruceton will lay down and it will be a running clock.
