Winner of the region gets beat in rd 3.
If Groves is still running the ball that is highly likely. Long season though.

forrest has had their youngest team in a decade the last 2 seasons, a horrific coach, underused the younger (9th and 10th) grade talent they DID have, and still lost by a combined 9 points to marion in 2 years.
Combined 16 points in 2 years. The freshmen and sophomores Marion won those last 2 meetings with will be juniors and seniors. Forrest has some good kids don't get me wrong. Just hard for me to see them coming to Jasper and beating Marion with what's returning and what is being added this summer.

I remember a football game being played at Jasper a few years back. The visiting team was whooping up on them Warriors so badly, they ran out of P.A. announcers.
What game was that?

NOT SAYING its a cakewalk. but you underestimate the extent to which the previous coach was holding back some really good athletes. all i am saying, is at least the coaching will be more competitive. it will come down to which athletes execute.
It's possible you come into Jasper with a better record than the Warriors. Marion has to go to Fayetteville and Sequatchie and have added a pretty good 5A team to this year's schedule. Rockets could be playing Fayetteville at the end of the season for the region title. (I hope you guys have a good clock operator for the ending)

i hope forrest continues to stay under everyones radar with this new coach. marion beat forrest with an inept coach the last two years by a combined 9 points,
Not sure they're under the radar. Will Forrest be improved under a new coach? That remains to be seen. Learning a totally new offense will have some growing pains but fortunately the Rockets will play Marion and Fayetteville at the end of the season. By then they may have a better grasp of it. Do I think they can come into Jasper with what the Warriors have returning and potentially adding? Personally I don't think so. Stranger things have happened but that's still a tall task. I wish the Rockets luck next season but I'm hoping you're 2nd in the region. Hahaha

Warriors return 16 or 17 starters from last season. Lose a couple skill kids that will actually hurt more in the secondary than on offense. A few younger kids that will step into those roles on offense that may produce more speed but need some more experience. QB play will once again make or break their season. Kid that was #2 QB last year may push for the starting role if he has a good spring and summer. Very athletic and can score from anywhere on the field. Few rumors floating around about some area kids but that's usually the norm.
Have a very good shot at the East but as long as Groves is running the ball at ER they're the favorite.

Forrest wins this region next year.
Anything is possible but losing Villazon, Grissom, Bell, etc.... will definitely hurt. I'd say Marion with Fayetteville and Forrest battling for 2nd.

Jasper fellas in front of me taking a nice look at the Pirates
Seeing as how they're in front of you they may be there supporting the boys. I've found that not as many Jasper fans hate the Pirates as people on here like to think. Just enjoy the title without worrying about Jasper fans.
Congratulations to SP!!!!

Congratulations to the Indians. A lot of us old heads knew Groves would be hard to stop. Good luck the rest of the way.
Safe travels back home.

This game is eerily similar to the title games when mc was battling trezvant. Couldn't stop Richardson and now can't slow Groves who you know is getting it every time. Definitely a one man show on offense and they can't do anything about it.
He's good. Very good

You are correct. That's the year they beat Maryville in the semis.

Don't give me the injury crap, Forrest did all this without its starting QB and the best lineman in 2A. Barely a month ago, Forrest outrushed Marion 267 yards to 185. Marion had 70 of those on one play and another 40 of those rushing yards on the last series after faking a kneel down with less than 2 minutes to play when the game was decided. Forrest out passed Marion 53 to 39. Forrest had 3 turnovers to zero for Marion. Forrest had 14 penalties for 150 yards and wiped out another 100 yards of rushing.
In spite of all that Forrest was in control of the game in the 4th quarter until coaching malpractice reared its head. If East Robertson is a legit contender this game won't be close.

Get off of our thread dude. You will get boatraced by a veteran jasper squad next year also.
Sometimes you just need a shoulder to cry on. I mean it was 45-0 AT THE HALF.
I wouldn't bring it up hoping people would forget about it.

Boat raced a very young sequatchie team. But that’s the only team you’ve played with a winning record.
Dunlap will see about 85% of that team next year so hopefully you get a little bigger and stronger.
But hey everyone has an excuse when you lose. We've heard it all. Half our team didn't dress out, we played our jv team, we had a lot of injuries, we played a bad game, we played with 2 left shoes, our cheerleaders only had 1 pom pom, etc....
Sometimes you just lose to a better team.

They should not pack them up. Jasper has plenty of ammo to win this game. East Robertson will pose a challenge but the warriors at home will be tough to beat.

Coaches have already talked to the kids. Packing their lockers up on Friday. No shot at all to beat East.
Been a good year fellas

we id not see that. 4 beat us on his own, and he waited until late in the game to do it
Starting RB #3 was hurt and tried to play but only carried 2 or 3 times at the beginning of the game before he had to come out. #1 went 70yds in the 3rd qtr to put Marion ahead for good 14-12.
