  6. Ravenwood High School (Brentwood, TN) is looking for a head boys wrestling coach. There is a coaching search being conducted by several highly invested & supportive parents, who are ready to go all-in on supporting a new coach. Last summer, our parents spent around $25k to send most our varsity wrestlers to the Iowa Hawkeye intensive camp. The program has around 50 returning athletes and a fantastic head girls coach. Josh Peck (future TSSAA Hall of Fame Wrestling Coach) is in-building and will support the new coach as his son is a rising freshman. There is also a year-round strength training coach for the wrestling team. This year, RHS took 8 to state last year, the most in several years. We also had the first state place-winners since 2016 and the first state champion since 2014. The girls team won the region duals championship. The current 8th and 9th grade boys and girls are a special group (far better than our current upperclassmen) that the new coach can continue to grow the program around. Also, there are many youth club wrestlers that are excited to wrestle for Ravenwood. Ravenwood kids are smart, respectful & extremely committed. Further, there are basically unlimited resources at your disposal. Best case scenario, someone with football coaching experience can coach both football as an assistant and wrestling as head coach. Our head football coach has already guaranteed an assistant football coaching position for the new wrestling coach (this should also help the new coach secure a teaching job). As a top-tier football school with many great athletes on the football team, recruiting football players for the wrestling team will be important for the wrestling teams' future success. Teaching jobs will be available. However, P.E. is unlikely. Please let me know if you have any questions. I will do whatever I can to help the new coach transition to RHS. 7. Sorry for the delay. Rex Shotts, Mike Kuhl, Mark Jahad, Tyler Wicken, Matt Conahan, and some other ex college guys. Basically, a couple local guys and a few guys from other parts of the country that have wrestled and/or coached at a high level. Always looking to add more knowledgeable coaches.
  8. Music City Wrestling Club fall practices have begun for HS/MS boys and girls wrestlers. Mondays and Wednesdays 6pm-7:30pm at Brentwood Academy. $100 per month and you'll need a USA card. Coaching staff includes 3 former D1 wrestlers and other former college wrestlers. Our staff enjoys working together and is passionate about helping kids grow as wrestlers and young men & women. Kids are welcome to come check out the club for free...we'll never turn anyone away because of money. We split up the room so that different skill levels are getting appropriate training and live wrestling partners. We started the club last year and are looking to grow. The purpose of the club is to help grow wrestling in Middle Tennessee, without regard to any school wrestling affiliation. Iron sharpens iron! We focus on college-style technique, live wrestling, building brother/sisterhoods, and, most importantly, having fun. All we ask is you check your ego at the door, work hard, and treat yourself and others with utmost respect. Contact Brody Faler if you have any questions. brody.faler@gmail.com
  9. Ravenwood HS is looking for a head girls wrestling coach, as well as at least one assistant boys wrestling coach. The girls program returns two regional place-winners and 5-10 other girls involved. The girls can continue to grow and should be competitive in the new regional alignment. The boys went 17-6 this year without any seniors and have over 40 on the team. The Ravenwood kids are inexperienced, but are very high character and hungry to be coached up. Several RHS teaching positions are available. View them here: https://selfservice.wcs.edu/MSS/employmentopportunities/default.aspx If interested, email your experience and contact info to Brody Faler at broderick.faler@wcs.edu.
