Only thing that I moderately disagree with is your opinion that it won't affect the smaller schools. From the perspective of acquiring players, I wholeheartedly agree that only a very small fraction will be able to compete for transfers in... where I believe that the impact will be felt is when a 1/A, 2/AA, or even most 3/AAA schools produce a once in a generational type player. True top tier D1 athletes usually stand out wherever they happen to play, but even more so in the lower classifications... that's when the phone starts ringing with "offers" and promises of exposure that will benefit in the future.

It looks like the future of TSSAA transfer restrictions will essentially be an open-door policy, where you can transfer and play without penalty, and are able to accept "payment" to do so. Good luck to the coaches at the small schools regarding keeping little Jimmy and his dad happy to play there when the ability is there to get paid now to play for basically anyone they choose, suffer no consequences to do so, and potentially "prove" to the power 5 universities that you can compete against elite competition.

    Agree with this whole heartily.

TN opened up a can of worms for sure by turning high school team sports into a bidding war, college kids is one thing letting high school kids make NIL money while some of them are still minors is ridiculous!
FWIW I think it won’t effect many small schools or at least ones who don’t even care about having a winning pedigree in Football., but the ones it does will have a huge advantage. If it gets so bad where the same teams are winning over and over, which is inevitable in A-AA they will have no answer but to police it. Only way I can think to do that is have any Public school playing in D1-A-AAAA list any amount donated, raised, or used on acquiring, upkeeping, or even rent and stuff paid on each player and add it all up and let them play each other compared to how much they have spent, because I guarantee you there are some schools losing money playing football, but yet some have very deep pocketed benefactors. Of course that would force TSSAA to do their research and actually hold schools accountable for having advantages so we can forget about that.

Agreed TSSAA is only about investigating how much money you put into their coffers

Tell me why the margin needs to be that large?  To embarrass the kids on the other side?  To rub it in the noses of the coaches?  If the discrepancy in talent is that noticeable then I’m sure the coaches from Clay will take the opportunity to get the younger players some experience and Coach them up to continue building a program.  That would make more sense to me than seeing if you could drop 50-60 on a team. I promise you if you coach long enough you’ll end up on the other side of that beat down one day. You will reap what you sow…

I agree if the talent level is so disproportionate a coach should jump at the opportunity to play younger guys to gain game experience and maturity of dealing with the situation. As for the beat down just remember one day your up and one day your down and folks remember and seek revenge.

will be gracing everyone with my presence in Chattanooga next Thursday-Saturday. I am very thankful to the Chattanooga Sports Authority for coordinating my arrival each day next week.  It's not everyday you get graced with the presence of a true living legend for 3 full days. I have been to several matchups throughout the years of state championship magnitude. My entourage is scheduled to arrive in Chattanooga at Lovell Field at approximately 10:00 am. The state troopers will then escort my entourage to Finley Stadium at Davenport Field. I appreciate Paul Smith, Mark Reeves, Mayor Wamp, and others making sure my luxury box suite will be the right temperature and catered correctly for my arrival. When you are a living legend like I am you pay close attention to the fine details. The games next weekend will feature 18 fine clubs all aiming for the same prize. I will be available in the concourse at different times throughout the weekend for some autograph and photograph sessions.  Many of the coachT posters will need to be at Finley Stadium to get a rare opportunity to breathe some of the same air a legend such as myself inhales. I will be keeping my eye on the young lads tomorrow night around the state from 36 different clubs to know who I will be viewing next week. There will be many young lads looking to achieve legend status next weekend in Chattanooga. My publicist will be contacting coaches from the winning teams tomorrow night to offer them an autograph opportunity upon their arrival at Finley Stadium next weekend.  I will have my personal police escort from the premises as soon as the games are over each day so I ask that everyone stay back and don't interfere with the entrance and exit from the concourse. I will be heading to Chattanooga Airport immediately after the game and will not have time for any autographs at that time. I will be staying at The Read House next weekend, but please don't attempt to locate me there as my reservation isn't listed under my living legend name.  I am looking forward to a festive atmosphere next weekend as many young lads and coaches try and achieve legend status. Always remember achieving legend status is a choice!
