  1. Absolutely not. Its not fair to the kids that are moving up as underclassmen to become upperclassmen. Letting people come back creates a bottleneck with your new players. They would be taking someone's playing time. It doesn't matter what you do in this situation, someone gets screwed. It sucks no doubt, but kids need to learn that life isn't fair, and sometimes you just have to make the best of a bad situation.

It would be crazy to get the 1,2,3,4 and 5 A  teams to Cookeville.

You forgot about Covington.... I think they have a pretty good chance of going.

That would be crazy. Unless they are all playing Livingston Academy (who plays their home games at TTU) or Cookeville this year, getting to Cookeville would not be football related. Getting to Chattanooga on the other hand, would be very impressive.

    2. (51). South Pitt  128.37

    3. (71) Fayetteville 125.54

    4. (93) McKenzie  120.89

    5. (114) lake county  115.54

    6. (149) coal field  109.04

    7. (156) greenback  107.99

    8. (159) Gordonsville  107.84

    9. (187) Moore county 102.51

    10. (212) cornersville  98.94

Clay County is at 165? That puts them at #9 and bumps out Cornersville from your list (interestingly enough, these two play in a few weeks at Cornersville.

    Top 3 is correct.

The rest is hard to tell, as it is still early and most of the guys in the AP are only truly familiar with one or two of these teams.

I agree. There are a lot of good teams in Class A, but only three right now who have a realistic shot at playing in Chattanooga in December. Whoever comes out of Region 1/2 could make it interesting for South Pitt since they would host. As for the West, Fayetteville deserves every bit of respect as the defending champions and would be hosts of the semifinals, but Peabody will certainly be an uphill battle for anyone. Whichever team makes it to December will certainly have earned it.

You can’t argue with the top 2 in this poll. I How does Greenback receive 7 votes after losing 63-0? I heard McKenzie is pretty good too.

How does Whitwell get two votes after getting beat 0-35 against a Cumberland County team that had not won an on field contest since Obama was president. I know Cumberland County is 4A, but Class A Clay County has ran all over them the last two years (and they weren't considered by the polls either of those years), one of those being a 29-0 shutout at Cumberland County.

UHS stadium holds 1/5 the capacity of CHS. CHS has a turf field and a rubberized track around it.  CHS has a player field house and lounge, and a spererate huge Weight training facility. UHS has a tiny field house smaller than the CHS locker room- lounge,, that houses a small home and visitor locker room, equipment room, bath rooms for fans, and concession stand.  I heard it wasn't even air condition until recently. No seating capacity so they bring in area softball bleachers just to host larger crowds. They practice on field shared by both soccer teams, both lacrosse teams and pee wee football practices sometimes. No comparison to what CHS has.

I was referring to all sports in general. Football may be nicer, but CHS has a bad setup for their gym. Everyone I know hates those stupid spiral staircases to the top level.

Numbers justify being a 4a team, school is at or near capacity. Actually I think smallest enrollment in the region except for Cumberland County. But they have approved a budget to expand the HS, so I am sure 4 years the will jump to 5a. The school board and higher ups don't care enough about UHS to fudge numbers to help thier sports, just look at the facility they play at. Everything goes to CHS. Diffrence is coaching, and way to much politics in Cookeville.

I disagree with facilities overall. Upperman has some pretty good facilities. I personally think Cookeville has the worst facilities in the county now that Monterey has their new (and longer overdue) school.

You are aware that outside of Nashville, the Cookeville Metro Putnam area has more growth than any other area in TN over the past 5 years, right?

Baxter jumps up because more and more people move to Cookeville, and Baxter is 8 minutes away, so people buy houses cheaper in baxter and drive in.  Baxter is as clean of a program as any in the state.

Nobody from the East, West, or Wilson, Sumner, Davidson area has any right to talk trash about the Plateau cheating anything on numbers.  I think you know.

I know a lot of athletes just prefer going to Upperman instead of Cookeville, just because of the school itself academically, not just athletically. Cookeville is the sixth largest school in TN.

Again, I don’t know much about 2A, but going into last night, Sonny Moore had Watertown listed as the #1 team in 2A.  Do y’all agree?

I think Watertown will beat Trousdale for the fourth year in a row to win the region, then TC will avenge the loss again in round 3, but fall to eventual champion Meigs County in the semifinals yet again.
