So what's your predicted score for Halls Vs. West?
28-10

I've only read of one 5A team in the area being "Hyped" at all and that's Powell. But the rest of West's schedule looks like this: Halls-H, Fulton-A, Sevier CountyH, AlcoaH, Heritage-A, Cocke-A, Maryville-A, Central-H.
What teams other than Alcoa and Maryville are you predicting they struggle with?
I'll use your informed opinion for my own wagers...
Halls will at least be a pretty physical game.
Fulton will be a great game. Just look at how they did Central last week. I think Central is comparable to West.
Sevier Co, Heritage, Cocke Co will be easy games for West.
They will lose to Alcoa and Maryville.
Central will be a good game. The last time they met in 2019 was an ESPN classic.
What I am trying to say is yes they could easily go 8-2 but they could just as easily go 6-4.

No offense intended, but you aren't the only one with "friends" in the Knoxville coaching community.
And believe it or not, some actually do see the teams live and have some knowledge about football in this area, also.
Stop trying to be so sly.
No offense taken. I just don't buy into the hype of West. I'm basing all of this on how they compare to Powell. Who in my mind is the team to beat in 5A. It may not be an apples to apples comparison but it seems like Powell is a lot more well rounded.

Halls. Lost. To. Gibbs.
They aren't going to West and win.
That's a good point and that's probably how it will sort out but is it totally out of the realm of possibility that as West play the rest of their backloaded schedule that some of the warning signs that you have mentioned come back to haunt them?

So Halls doesn't have any banged up backs after 2 games, too?
My friends that are in the Knoxville coaching community tell me that West is an athletic team that will struggle down the stretch. They've got some depth at running back but what about the other positions?

Also, I looked up the passing stats because I wondered. 9-12 for 207 yards against. And that's not 1/4 of their plays. i'm inclined to believe they can complete a few more if they need to.
Against an average Farragut team which is like the top of West's own 5A classification. It would have been more convincing had they beat Farragut in the same style they did Bearden.

West has to do some adjusting on defense. Giving up that many points to a Farragut team that isn't as good or deep offensively as they have been wasn't good. Work to do there.
But offensively they are scoring points. That side of the ball doesn't seem to be an issue right now.
You're right but for how much longer can the backs at West keep up the workload they are carrying right now. When we get into the dog days and they are playing Alcoa and Maryville those backs will get banged up. All I'm saying is there are chinks in West's armor and losing Blair will hurt them down the stretch.

Bishop is a generational player, when he's gone then what? S.O.B, Same ole Beavers
Agreed. Check back in after Bishop is gone and it will be back to regularly scheduled programming.

Are you saying Coach Brown's offense is predictable or their defense? Coach Cummings only calls offense....
I like Halls chances either way. The HC always has input on both ends of the program regardless of what side he calls. Nothing against your friend Coach Brown but how many times can they just run it up the gut of the defense until a strong defensive team gets wise?

I'm surprised there wasn't already a thread for this game. Coach Cummings will have a bead on the predictable play calling at West. Halls is going to steal some possessions on defense to keep this tight. I could see West winning by 10 points and finishing the game early in the fourth quarter.

I think this will prove to be a great match up. Fulton has a lot of style and speed back and AC is a solid football team. Will hopefully be one for the record books.

HC can still turn it around. That dog can hunt bo!

Take it easy, if you're not interested in the match up go to a different thread. There is no reason to be negative.

This will be a good game. Clinton has an air of excitement around them like they haven't had in a while. Oak Ridge the state runner up is getting everyone's best shot. Oak Ridge has to find some redemption from losing to a lesser Bearden team last week. Clinton is trying to hang on to their momentum. This will be a very interesting game.

Loudon has a good squad. They are very well coached. They have the edge over Sweetwater. Should be a great game though.
Bearden travels to Hardin Valley

That is all they've needed. Karns has a good zone if they can consistently get two or three kids to help them win games that they normally wouldn't, it would generate enough buzz to turn it around.
