Milan is the favorite in this one but I can understand taking the low road as a Milan fan.  I hear Lots of injury excuses very similar to last season.  That was a pretty embarrassing loss for Milan last year.  Mustangs will compete and give Milan all they want.

Crazy thing is Huntingdon’s best player got hurt in the summer and won’t take a snap this year but I haven’t seen it used once as a crutch

I bet you moore county’s qb is better than mckenzie’s at making plays. don’t act like moore county is just a bad team

I’m not sure if the years match up but maybe someone can help me out. is Moore County’s stud QB the good freshmen receiver they had the year they beat Huntingdon in the playoffs?

Maybe so, but I like my chances better against Peabody than the other 2. That's was not a shot at Peabody by no means because I know they will be tough. I mean we did end their streak :D. But seriously, they all will be tough, just feel like we have a better chance to beat them.

I understand! It always about match-ups, not necessarily who may be better. To me, Trenton matches up the physicality with what Huntingdon wants to do. They also have a better QB than can test the undersized DBs of Huntingdon. Milan had trouble containing SGC's run game. But to your point, I am in no means talking down or bad about Milan, they are a great team.

I can't argue with this list. The next 5 weeks is gonna be a test for the stangs with 3 of of them in this list. I wanna say at least one for sure win against Gibson County and 1 that I'm on the fence with against Westview. Milan, Peabody, and UC are gonna be tough games. No shade towards Peabody, but I feel that game will be the easiest, toughest game of the 3. Look forward to the next 5 weeks of game, gonna be some good, hard hitting games played during that time.

You may retract that statement about Peabody now that they are starting to get healthy. I believe Milan is a better matchup for the Stangs than Peabody.

No I have no concerns about Huntingdon. And there definitely are no insecurities. Yes they have a good team. I have even congratulated them at times on other threads but some of your fans make it hard to even be half way friendly. As far as our teams playing. NO concerns. I know it will be a war .

I didn’t mean to sound that way. I apologize. UC is a great team and in my opinion the best in 2A

Now time to focus on week 5 against the pioneers. Sloppy play last year about cost us, but let’s keep on trucking these folks and pick up win 5. Go Tornados and good luck to TCA the rest of the year. If you want some good laughs go watch Huntingdon fans talk about how great they are and that they will beat us in week 10.

Sounds like you are projecting your own concerns and insecurities about Huntingdon bud

There is talent on our team, but that talent is mostly sophomores and Juniors. Let's not act like we didn't just play the most talented team we will see all year? D backs are 10 yards off the ball because we are slower and smaller than McKenzie's guys on the outside. If we got up in their face and played man defense, we would get torched deep every single play. That 10 yard cushions helps so that our db's can at least make a play on catches in front of them.

I agree that we play too conservative at times which costs us games in the playoffs, but if you think for a second that we we lost that game just because of coaching then you don't know squat about football. It stings a little bit to say, but McKenzie is a senior heavy team who went to state last year and have every one of their studs back. They are just a better team right now. The Mustangs will be fine. They are young, and this year they will gain a lot of experience for the years to come.

    Great post

  8. Don't let a couple of Huntingdon posters make you all think that. Yeah we don't make it as far as we would like every year, but not many teams do. We are never the biggest, fastest, strongest team, but we will be competitive and win a lot more than we probably shouldn't. We are also never the "self proclaimed" state champions. That gets thrown around here on the T from year to year, but it isn't always the Huntingdon posters. Yet we get trashed around on here by everyone. We ran into a better MAHS team with a lot of seniors and lost by a point. We will work and try to be better next year.

Always like to keep up with kids I see play, Hope they do well as I'm sure they've both put in a million hours.

I don’t know the kid personally, but I did watch a video on YouTube where he talked about knowing he wont go down there and start day 1. Taking the “Mac Jones approach” as he calls it. It’s true. Learn from the best and set your self up to light it up for one year and your set for life. Smart kid.

Find it sorta ironic that Westview's enrollment went from 619 from the last classification to 509 this round, thats a huge drop-off. Think Daddy rabbit got coaches hired and whatever it took to get more exposure for his son. Amazing what goes on behind the scenes in A TON of schools.

His son was already committed to Bama before he even took a snap in 2A. Not sure what more exposure he would need lol

  11. Hats off to the QB for Hampton. That kid is a baller. Tough, smart, patient runner. Could sling it if needed. And came up hard and made perfect tackles on defense. Not to mention his demeanor and body language were impressive.
