Last year, we had to sit in the visitors bleachers to broadcast our game on the radio.  We had a generator for power. By the end of the game, we had frost on all of our equipment.  Here is the weather for Friday.

    image.png.fd181deb378f3ca4de5094ba95e78291.png

2% chance of snow could be worse though much like Buffalo lol. Def coveralls and Carhartt type of night. They said yall Mckenzie folks have a nice facility so is it anyway possible yall turn some heat on for everybody lol?

  2. Looks like its going to be a cold cold night probably even colder than last years game. The more I look at these teams its just a shame someone goes home without a chance at a gold ball tomorrow night. They look nearly identical in across the board especially offensively. City doesn't have the same beef on the dline that it had a year ago unless they rotate in some of those O-linemen so can Mckenzie actually create a run game north and south? Sideline to sideline Mckenzie has no shot at having success with City having far to much speed. This game def comes down to the coaching staffs and who makes the best adjustments. still taking City as of right now....tomorrow night will be one to be remembered.

as of 2018-2019 school year, Fayetteville High School was 31% black and 54% white, with enrollment at 364. Lincoln County was 1% black and 89% white with enrollment at 1134. If you do the math, combining the schools would give you an enrollment of 1498, with 8% black and almost 81% white.

the state average for schools is 22% black and 60% white, which still aren't great numbers.

that being said, the City high school has a demographic closer to state average (better than state average, I'd argue) than the County school, and combining them would have a minimal effect.

unrelated to your post, but someone somewhere was arguing the student to teacher ratio was worse at City than County....for the record, the same school year (18-19), the ratio was 15:1 (state average) at City and 17:1 at County (worse than average).

Stats can be misleading because each of us from this area know that city % of African American students is far greater than white students at that school. What the school list each students race as for testing/money purposes could be what's causing those numbers to look like that because the white kids are by far the minority at City. Now if they were combined as it used to be well of course the white to African American ratio would look drastically different I mean based off the county as a whole there are more whites than African American.

My biggest issue with it all has nothing to do sports related it comes back to why did people fight so hard for rights for children to all be under the same roof no matter color for it all to go back to the old way and yes I understand it isn't remotely that bad but its the principle behind it. Besides just jobs its part of the reason people move off and never come back they say how much bigger the world is and they get around diversity after having it shunned the whole time growing up

I'd send my kid to City before LC any day of the week. LC been a racist redneck school for as long as I can remember. Lol. Smfh.

This is the exact reason why splitting the schools was terrible. If LC is racist then how do you figure City ain’t? Any human race can be racist towards another. Don’t let a smiling face fool you. It’s adults that are hurting the kids. We are failing our kids as a community with the segregation of schools

Ok my man just show up Friday you will see just how weak the schedule was.

They will be ready to play I promise you that!

They Been disrespected all season and just like a blue collar worker continue to put their head an work !

Well if you can't get motivated to play this time of year your playing with wet matches anyways...shouldn't need coach T posters for bulletin board material.

They said last week was the toughest test !

I guess will we continue every week with it being  there toughest test!

Well compared to who was on MASE schedule all year yes this will be the toughest test until City or Mckenzie the following week.

Haven’t seen either play. But have kept up with both. McKenzie in this one. Fayetteville isn’t as good as they look on paper. RedBank was overrated, and they run up the scores in all their games. It classless and they won’t be able to fool McKenzie. Also home field will play an advantage.

Classess? Who have they ran the score up up on besides Corntown? They could've easily put 100 plus on South Fulton and never let them score if they wanted to. Have to disagree with that

  9. Toughest test for MASE all year will find out if playing a weak schedule haunts them in either losing or exposing a weakness moving towards the semis. Their LB and HB are power 5 good from what I have been able to see on tape. Not a big fan of that two QB system I think I seen where the one kid is an 8th grader? imo he's the better one of the two.

Peabody will be physical and but they need a bruiser to carry the load and get north and south soften things up because they have a mismatch at WR that MASE want have an answer for besides keeping 2 guys on him. This hasn't been the same Peabody of the last several years with that gotta go with MASE in this one.

901 folks.. will they livestream this game somewhere?

  10. Here we are game of the yr. Hard one to pick a winner in could go either way. If city plays how they did vs Dresden (not sure if they were looking ahead)  then they will have a long trip back home. City play calling was awful last week they should've scored at will but the OC crippled them all night. On the flip side this is not a good matchup for Mckenzie with City being the most athletic team they've played all year much like last yr when Citys defense held Mckenzie to a season low. I feel the winner of this one will win by 2 or 3 TDs this year but that comes late in the 2nd half.

This game will be physical and a blood bath gonna be a heck of a contest. That said I have to go with City I just think they've had this one circled much like that Red Bank game. The three hr bus ride and knowing how last season ended vs this team and Mckenzie having home field advantage just gives the tigers a load of motivation. City will have a different feel and look in their eyes come friday night wont be the same team who played vs Dresden.

Kj Jackson steals the show in this one much like he did vs SP and sends City to thanksgiving week. He gets his touches for sure this week in creative ways and look for them to take advantage with Thomison being a mismatch on both sides.

    Fayetteville -36

    McKenzie - 21

The TSSAA doesn't pay officials, the individual schools do.  Are saying the schools should pay more for officiating or that the schools are cheap?

Correct but TSSAA sets the number for what officials are to be paid regular and post season. Officials should def be paid more.

You obviously drank too much sweet tea at shoney’s or something. City got kids all across the map that have played college ball.

but I digress, city wins. Closer than it probably should be, but expect Dresden to put up a fight that should keep them in the game until Atleast half time

Nah went to honeys actually lol. Across the map? thats false lol cause basketball has only put out 3 and one of those was a transfer. Football only had a handful that has made it and that's only been in recent years cause Coach P didn't send but like 1 off to play and actually had his best player transfer out back then. Thomison will be the first to make it big time in football ( heck of a player love watching him play.)

Finally something we can agree on..City wins and it wont be close

City has plenty of vocational education opportunities and has since the day it opened. Sounds like you regurgitate garbage the falcon club says. Kids aren’t missing out on any opportunities at city educationally, athletically, socially, vocationally , or otherwise.

Falcon Club lol " why dont you say what you actually mean"

City has never provided great opportunities for vocational skills since the doors opened. Socially they def are missing out on interaction with kids from a different back ground setting and that goes for both schools reason why segregating the schools was a terrible idea. They don't provide the same quality of high school education as county does. They lose teachers every yr and administrators because of how things are ran. How they fail to hire educators that can actually relate to those kids is mind boggling they have what two or 3 in the entire high school and probably not even 10 in the entire school system

That blue ribbon award they got is because of collection of data on closing achievement gaps which goes back to demographics pretty much. Don't let them folks fool you like they all really are for your kids cause they get money for having kids of certain ethnicity.

Athletically City has had special kids since 2011 but they dont help a lot of those kids reach the next level and get that free education most of those kids have a free ticket out and have been failed when it comes to resources. I do think they have gotten better when it comes to that area.

You totally missed my point. . But whatever

You cant help ignorance bro you spitted straight facts. City high school education wise comes nowhere near LCHS. That student teacher ratio is true however City is losing teachers left and right each year due to how students are allowed to act their is no discipline on the daily bases. The segregation of schools has done nothing but hurt the youth of our community when it comes to diversity All that the school was to crowded is a joke if it was so overcrowded they shouldn't built a new LCHS high school but not splitting the schools but you only blame the big wigs of the town for that. The city kids miss out on several opportunities education wise and not exposed to as many as career choices such as shop classes. Its not all about sports but people fail to realize that. This town is drastically to small to have 2 high schools separated by a bridge and a stop light.

Use “Athletes” in quotes then talking about segregation, why don’t you go ahead and say what you want to say? Typical LC faithful.

The term "athletes" is in quotation because that has been used by people form the community which is dastardly given everyone knows what folks are referring to when they say that. That's why you dont assume things and get pressed about stuff jumping the gun. It is segregation what else would you call it?

Typical faithful? no I support the kids of both school here and have from the jump. Your just one of those typical city people who just assume everyone is against yall which is absolutely funny yall have convinced yourselves of that.

Let’s get serious. LCHS had 25 seniors this year and at least competed in 5A this year and should have won 4-5 games blowing 2nd half leads. None of the City Kids ever attended LCHS. Dresden Is outmatched in this game and will lose by 28 if not more. City has the athletes to win in Chattanooga.

Agree and had the chance to knock off a few 6a teams. LC made huge improvements this year with getting a coach who actually cares. They got some talent in their young group and changes of classification even tho they stay 5a LC will be competitive now I’d say steadily. City does have a kid from county on there tho.

Your right 99 out of 100 yall get the win but you never know if that 1 time is the first time. I hope you have to eat a big piece of humble pie come Friday night. Serious question not trying to throw shade but how has Fayetteville school grown in numbers so much. Your sideline looks like a 5a school. I've been around High school football for several years and don't ever remember hearing about Fayetteville till 3 years ago. Now your going up to 2a. Good coaching hire? New factory? School consolidation? Just curious.

Haha nah you right thats why you have to play the game. best of luck

City first fielded a team in 13. 2019 started this run its just this is just one those groups that come through every so often in this town. The schools are split which everyone used to all be at Lincoln County high school which is the 5a school. City is at an advantage with having  all the  " athletes" in their school system and getting to play in 1a granted they beat 4a teams cause they have really good players. Basically legal segregation honestly not sure how it hasn't been looked into lol.

These coaches have helped changed and shape that program and have got kids to come out and play for them. Def no new factory this town to small minded and good ole boy for bringing jobs in. This town has lost majority of its folks due to lack of jobs. This town used to be flooded with athletes from the 80- early 00s several pro athletes but being small handicapped this town. This will honestly prolly be one of the last special groups to come through for some time.

The school def has seen an increase in population since opening in 11/12 but its not made that big of strides City will actually be one of the smaller 2a schools.

LC lost 6'4 lineman about 2nd game of year. Was hearing rumors that he may be back about this game but coach said Sat he was out for season. Was hoping just a few plays for depth. Was 4 year starter I believe.LC has played 3A and 4A and 2A schools this year so shouldn't be shell shocked.People going by scores from previous games.Well let's throw this out there.Just curious.Would most pick Mase to beat Melrose? Remember LC beat Central ,a team that just beat Melrose,Crockett Co and Dresden.Running back had 300 yards I was told.So I wouldn't overlook LC.They been on the field with better teams like Haywood without Day Day whole game and qb and wr most of game.Haywood is that good. Was no need to play them against Haywood. But the ones that did play didn't quit the entire game. And actually the whole first quarter LC did pretty darn well.Think they held Haywood first 2 or 3 series which a lot of bigger schools haven't done.

Think it comes down to trench play for you guys. If yall can withstand the size they present and not let it wear you down I think yall have a good opportunity. Their a good team but they aint world beaters. The team from MS showed that because that team wasn't all that and a bag of chips.

  19. Styles make fights and this will be a fight. Moore co will have a heck of a game plan much similar to how they played City. Best team Mckenzie will have faced since early on this season. Lot of people will disagree but Moore co will have the best player on the field friday night Mckenzie must figure out a way to handle him or this game gets spooky. Gonna be a heck of game tough to pick...been impressed with the Moore co all year but think they are still wet behind the ears and Mckenzie escapes in the 4th with having the experience of these moments. Mckenzie on to round 3 to welcome Fayetteville to town.

  20. The lion cubs have been a pretender all year. Here goes you some bulletin board material.. This game is a waste of gas for everybody from Dresden yall have a better chance of winning this lottery drawing than coming within 5 scores in this game. Back to the same place it ended last yr for the cubs. Yall make sure to get your tickets in advance to watch City vs Mckenzie unless yall have a basketball game that night. City 58 - 13 Dresden only scores come on City jv.

  21. If MASE is anywhere near what they are supposed to be then they win this one by a couple of scores. This will be the biggest challenge MASE has faced up unto this point. Lake Co will have the speed to keep up not sure on size and not sure Lake Co has the depth to stand for 4qt. Two teams with different motivation in this one interesting matchup with Peabody looming.

  22. 10 hours ago, Westtnfootball61 said:

I have watched both teams play LC has the size to match up and speed to stay with them but let me tell yall MASE is a very good team probably the best disciplined team I've saw come out of memphis the Turmon kid is an outstanding player on both sides of the ball they will play 2 QBs #3 & #14 who is a 8th grader yes #14 is in 8th grade and wow can he play both sides of the ball....Coach Miller has been around along time and has found his team to make a run Mckenzie is the only team I think that can compete with Mase!!!!!

    Google Fayetteville City my guy.
