  1. If there was a game for Meigs to be concerned with on their schedule in region play it’s Brainerd. Brainerd has athletes that Meigs has not seen.
they have the ability to pull off the big play if they can connect. QB&WR seem to be out of sync but if it comes together there should be concern with the athletes.
if Brainerd watches last weeks film and executes defensively then this may be alot closer than expected.
meigs can not afford to come out slow like they have on several occasions this season.  They need to show the ability these next weeks to put 4 quarters together without committing silly penalties that have plagued them all season.

that raise, if any... will be just nuff to cover the petro it will take to make that 30km round trip....and thats only if the current group of socialist stop inflatin....

.....the only stress that feller will feel in sale creek will only be what he puts on coaches self...

..and BigFoot423 thinkin that feller leavin a possible WAY down pool of talent in Decatur for sumthin talenter

    Booger just sayin

I didn’t say anything about Sale Creek being better talent.
Just that Meigs is going to be way down and they will have higher expectations.

  3. Hats off to Westmoreland. The concern from me was the physical line play, knew 14 and 19 were ball players. 27 run on us as he wanted. All three players fought for every inch they got.
As for Meigs we came with a game plan and it didn’t work. We got outplayed for an entire half of football until scoring right before half.
2pt conversion looked good when players got up but it is what it is.
Meigs and Westmoreland had a bunch of penalties meigs were crucial in the 4th quarter killed a comeback.

Meigs needs to hit the drawing board in the off season and figure out what the plan is for next season. What we did on both sides of the ball was questionable all season.
Need to find out where these kids fit in or change some things up

as for good luck in 3A we beat Central, Sweetwater and Signal Mtn so Meigs would have hosted a playoff game in 3A. Plus Loudon lost in the pre season twice to meigs. So hopefully we can use that as building blocks for next year

sweetwater and central both advanced to the 2nd round of the playoffs.

  4. I’m waiting on @Dadof2 to give the meigs fans the scoop on what we do this week. He knew the game plan on offense even though we haven’t seen the shotgun QB run much at since week 3.

Worked this week but as a fan super worried for the success in the playoffs with it. Westmoreland is generally a really physical opponent so this will be interesting

We will need to find out what Meigs Offense and Defense shows up to determine how this game will go.

  5. We have called the QB out of the shotgun in like 6 weeks as the primary offense. Looks like Dadof2 may have some insider information.
Meigs Oline looked a little rough with the ball being run in between the tackles.
having the additional blocker for the QB was a big difference, got to give the boys who blocked for him some credit atleast?
I keep hearing Fitz coached it better we haven’t hidden anything we planned on running at all. It just wasn’t stopped.
Marion had the keys to the truck coaches bout gave it away with that late INT

Anyone realize meigs Abandon the power run game after a 43 yard td ?

  6. This weeks games can decide whether you a possible #2 seed or sitting at home.
Meigs wins and they are in for sure.
marion has speed and appears to run a spread both of these have gave meigs a fit this year.
this game is loading up to be a bang

Would be nice.....but don't be surprised if PF and GP go north. Loudon and Kingston could easily end up with AE, Union, Scott, and the Beast of the East ---Alcoa

That would leave SW, Meigs, McMinn Central with Brainerd, Tyner and Chatt Central

Who knows what teams will play up or where the breaks for District alignment will be set....by the geniuses at the TSSAA

I figure that you would basically have the same regions up north maybe slight adjustments but I figure you would see

McMinn Central, Meigs, Kingston, Sweetwater and Loudon

Tyner, Brainerd, Chatt Central, Sequatchie and Grundy

That would be more ideal for travel concerns

I heard Meigs turned enrollment in early and they are now actually under the 541. Guess they should have waited like some schools until TSSAA had to ask lol

  8. Let’s keep it real here. Meigs has looked better but I’m not sure if it’s because they have gotten better or because the level of talent they are facing is worse?
Here is the key to winning this game for meigs.
         1. Long drives that take the bulk of a quarter

         2. Containing the WR from being able to get deep and make big plays

         3. Read option don’t worry about the QB the RB is the real threat.
         4. Don’t give up big plays.
        5. Limit the offense from being on the field as much as possible.

never even close? It was a 7 point game literally the entire game. Penalties took 2 central tds off the board or you lose. Not even close. Get that BS outta here..Polk names there score next week.

You got jokes. Game was physical domination outside of about a handful of offensive plays that central had. Did you even sniff the red zone? I believe your TD was a run that meigs looked terrible tackling on and a td called back due to lineman being Down field.
so where was central ever a threat offensively?

  10. Here is my take. Moody has done a tremendous job with this program in 2 short years.
Central scored tonight in meigs for the first time in many years. Central had a play called back that could have been game changing but that is part of the game.
Meigs proved tonight that they are improving week to week and played without our senior all region middle linebacker tonight.

if central can regroup this week from the devastating of being dominated on the line then they should be ok.
They will be playing for 2nd place cause Sweetwater is by far better than Central

Meigs needs some teams to lose and catch a break and they’ll be in the running for a 2 seed.

be interesting to see how the season plays out for both teams

if anyone thinks next year is going to be different we only lose about 5 players

I think they are good enough to win the next four or five games but they could just as easily let a couple of them slip away. Signal and Polk on the road will be tough ones and that Polk county game is a big region contest. At least Marion County to close it out is at home. Tyner is on a different level.  Our team from last year had trouble with them and they pretty much got all their skill players returning.

Hopefully the boys will get it figured out and come together. If not they might be setting at home watching the playoffs

I am pulling for them to mesh together as a unit and go on a streak.
let’s get it started this week make progress and get better.
that’s all we got going into week 4 season about half over.

Looking at the schedule I would agree with you. They could just as easily be 3 and 0 or 0-3.  We will see what these guys are made up of the next several weeks and how bad they want it.  That game at Polk County looks a lot tougher every week and Tyner and Marion to finish it off. I mentioned about making a deep run in the playoffs. It is hard to get a read on this team. They continue this trend they might not even make the playoffs.

They definitely need to play better than they have been playing and clean up the mistakes.

To be able to hang in there with as many mistakes and misfortunes they have had says something about their will.

My greatest fear at this point is we continue to play offensively like we are and we are good enough to win the next 4 games but when it comes to the games like Tyner, Marion and playoffs we will struggle.
these next 4 games we need to work on perfecting the weak spots in our secondary and get in a offense and get better.

Little of everything.  We can do different things we just have to commit to something and go. One strength we have  is all our backs seem to have have good hands. Let’s throw the short passes to the backs and let them work.
Something else. I haven’t seen many injuries this year. We seem to be a healthy team. Plenty of talent we just gotta get a identity and roll with it and improve weekly.  I think that’s what OP was saying

    OP?

Yeah I kinda feel after being shut out 5 years in a row central may find a new game one. I wouldn't mind if they played someone like Harriman, Cumberland County, Hixson, Sequoyah or Soddy-Daisy.

Well it’s tough for Central. They play 2 2A schools and a 5A school that historically beat them.
I think they need to have entire schedule overhaul so they are prepared to play the best 3A teams.

  15. Centrals defense will need to be focused on containing #12. Probably one of the best players they have seen to start this season. Polk brings in a physical power game that Davis is great at implanting. I think both teams are rolling with momentum at this point polk is 3-0 and has not really played any stiff competition. They both beat Tellico by 20+.
Centrals only loss is really an expected loss each year. If they weren’t county schools they wouldn’t play annually.
I believe this game is a home game for Central and I believe they pull this game out and get the win. Senior heavy central with young coach moody is primed for a turn around this season
