Naw, were not as good as last year talent wise. However we will work hard for what we get. I did expect to beat Huntingdon, I was probably one of the few posters that did.

ER in a runaway.

I'm picking McEwen in a close one, especially since they're at home.
-
McEwen got a good win against JB Friday night. Where did y'all's stud RB go after graduation? Did he get any offers?

Pulling for the Lions. After we gave up the third most receiving yards in TN HS football history to one receiver, I'm very concerned that McKenzie will thump us with their receivers. I'll still say Dresden by two points in a battle.
I don't mind playing the Underdog another week.

I agree but like you said it will be worked out Friday night.
Especially after they struggled with Peabody Friday night. I think that Peabody is Maybe a 4 seed in that region.

I understand but I think Milan and South Gibson would both handle the Rebels.
You also thought that the Mustangs would "handle" the Rebels too...that wasn't the case.

The only discrepancy I see is #8 & #9 could be flip flopped. This will work it's way out in 5 days though. Other than that looks pretty good for now.

Idk, I'm just looking for the W, and no injuries!
No injuries by either team of course.

Riverside get the dub in this one, too much for the Big Red Machine.

Of course I think our Lions will take it to the Rebels, at their place at that (which really is a nice stadium for visiting teams). How sweet it will be to defeat the defending champions on their turf! And though the battle will be intense every play, methinks Dresden will find a way to win the day, that's what I say! Score? It wont matter.. whether by one or a bunch, a W is a W. After the dust settles this Friday Night, Dresden will be 2-0, McKenzie 1-1.
Not so fast @HevyReturns, I think the Rebels are favored in this game. Oh well that's why we'll have to wait and see come Friday. Hopefully there aren't any injuries, and the zebras let em play! Let's go Rebels.

Rebels win by 3 scores
Dresden will be a formidable opponent, they are a big physical team, and have good speed on the edges. I believe we can win but it won't be 3 scores though.

West Carroll, Mckenzie , Bruceton , Mcewen and Perry County all with big wins Week 1 . Mckenzie and the Perry County game is probably the biggest surprises of the week .
Speak for yourself, I wasn't surprised with the Rebels play, as for PC I can't speak on something I'm not sure about.

I'm picking UC, in a slobber knocker! Kudos for scheduling Ensworth!

Tough game for the Mustangs. Lots of DUMB penalties. A couple calls that didn't really go our way, but they ultimately didn't affect the outcome.
Offensively, this was one of the most lackluster performances I've seen from Huntingdon in the last 4-5 years. If Swenson had let Ensley throw as much as he let Eubanks tonight, we would have won state a few years ago, imo. I'm glad to see that the offensive philosophy is evolving so I won't denigrate the play calling too much. Lots of dropped passes. Several inaccurate throws.. These boys are just going to have to execute better..
Defensively we looked good vs the run game, but way too many missed tackles. We had flashes vs the pass game, but only when we got pressure on the QB. Without a pass rush he was able to pick our secondary apart with the quick screens and slants.
Huntingdon will improve as they always do throughout the year, but folks definitely need to be pumping the brakes on the state title contender talk. You won't hear it out of me unless I see some major improvements during region play.
As for McKenzie, look out 1A.. These boys are still really good. Congrats to the Rebels. What's this 3 straight vs the Mustangs? Hopefully next year our guys can show a little more fire for this county rivalry game. Good luck the rest of the year to the Rebels. I'll be rooting for you all the rest of the way out.
This is 4 straight, and as for the Mustangs clean up the turnovers, and dropped passes and make a deep run! I'll be pulling for y'all the rest of the season!

Both teams have started in the win column, but someone has to get the L. Hopefully there are no injuries and the Refs let em play.

Any stock in preseason common opponents?
Scrimmage - McKenzie 23 Lexington 6
Jamboree - Huntingdon 16 Lexington 6
Teams may be closer than predicted?
McKenzie 26
Lexington 0
(I didn't count a scoop & score either), which would add 7 more. Lexington didn't get in the red zone. The whole scrimmage.

How many seniors does Mckenze have on their roster. What class is their dominant class? I know Comer will have a good offense with Surber but who are your studs on defense?
The McKenzie Rebels have 8 Seniors, and their dominant class IMO is the Junior class.

I'm really looking forward to the football game this Friday night. Hopefully the Rebels can hang in there with y'all's Mustangs. We have a lot of youngins starting their first varsity game! With that being hoping for an injury free contest and lets go Rebels!

Dresden put a whippin on Camden High School. It was Mckenzie that beat 6A McCracken Co.
-
McKenzie had a decent showing against a 6A McCracken Co. There's still plenty of things to iron out before the season opener with Huntingdon. McKenzie 20 McCracken Co.14. I'm glad that there were no injuries, now back to the practice field. Let's go Rebels!

Where is the Jamboree between Lexington and Huntingdon tomorrow night, and what time is kickoff? Tia
McKenzie Rebels vs Dresden Lions 8/25.

Are we playing the underdog this week too? It worked well last week.
