I'm waiting for the injury report--if the depleted roster that Marion faced travels to Cross Plains, it could be a long night...

Smith Co gets the shutout

Cascade struggled to run the ball vs Monterey but passing was effective in the 2nd half--FC QB should have a field day

Cascade can be physical, but I can’t imagine that throttling they took at the hands of Marion county did much for their confidence. I expect ER to have a running clock, possibly even in the first half
I think the confidence will return if the Champs are at full strength

Boy that didn’t age well did it?!
I was keeping my cards close to my chest--maturation of Homer, one might say---but, I knew it was an uphill battle-- we were missing 90% of our offense. I think it was 7-3 when our QB/FS went down--the freshman QB that came in did just fine, but we weren't able to replace him at FS--he would not have missed the tackles that led to big plays. More dogs, not more athletes... MC with an aggressive D & a capable offense & better than I expected--great atmosphere too.

27-3 @ half. Cascade qb went out late in 2nd, prayers for him.
Cascade also without their primary ball carrier-Lovvorn and their 2nd best O-Lineman Big Joe—#4 is the real deal though

That seq game showed a glimpse of how good this Marion team could be. Then there are other games that have shown how bad it could be, like dade or Forrest. For them to get where they want to be the offense has to be more diverse and not so predictable. Notice your coaches calling out the offensive plays that Marion will run tonight. Like the sequatchie head scratcher, one for me would be cascade vs huntland early in the season. How in the world do you barely scrape by them? Cascade has some good looking athletes, thats for sure, maybe they just aren't well coached?
It took Cascade time to get everyone comfortable in their new roles/develop an identity--14 Seniors but a new Qb & backfield etc-- & new OC---Really painful to watch the first 3 games of the season...Got right vs Community, turned a corner vs Watertown, & have been cooking along pretty good since then...The Defense & effort will be there tonight & I'm hoping that just enough offense shows up too! Might be a field position battle between two slightly predictable offenses...

Sequatchie was at full strength, but probably the worst game they played so far. Offensive line wouldn’t block, play calling was horrible and just couldn’t tackle, seq has young backs especially with #22 who will run over you as a freshman and he never touched the ball against Marion. Coach wants to run the middle everytime or screen plays. Sequatchie should be better next year, only have 5-6 seniors who start. Taking nothing away from Marion they have some athletes and a solid team but SP would honestly beat Marion by 35. SP has talent everywhere. Oline and dline are ridiculously good, qb is the best in the area probably. Sp and seq score should’ve been worse than what it was. Good luck to both valley teams, should make good runs in the playoffs
Well, surprising... That score stands out as an anomaly, an aberration, an outlier, so I assumed there was something extra going on...Regardless, we are in for a tight one tonight...

Got my old lady in the kitchen right now, I’ll have to start a mastication gone wild thread later tonight

Even if Cascade takes care of business Friday they will need some help from the Rockets to win the region outright and actually earn the name "Champions". Are your coaches giving our coaches much needed suggestions this week?
100% Forrest has provided Marion insights and cascade Fc insights

Patna, whatever you iz smoking I need a zip of dat.
Marion has almost dropped da ball numerous timez dis seazon against some fairly mediocre competition. I’ve been supportive of y’all up until dis foolishness.
here iz ya problem. You play a very meaningful game dis Friday against Cascade, but you are so consumed wid your lack of success and inferiority to da boyz up da road dat you can’t even focus on what matterz. You would rather parade around comparing two teamz dat have absolutely nothing to do wid each other anymore.
Da year of Covid you boyz wouldn’t reschedule, costing SP tons on money on a gate. So why would we play y’all again da next year and give you gate money? After all da BS y’all boyz been involved in including Making ESPNs worst of da worst for vandalizing ya own facilities, playing EX SP players in practice just to get a look and much more, you still can’t accept dat y’all fellas are darn near a comedy show.Get outta here patna.
I know being close in proximity da boys in orange may have took a few of ya skillet slingers from ya but ease up and worry about what really matterz cause if ya chasing da burg you currently 2nd place in a two man race. Dat means you are last.
Wiser words have certainly been spoken but have wiser words ever been typed while masticating a big mouthful of cornbread?-I cannot say.

Just trying be better ….We are all fans & supporters of our respective schools and communities and just want what we think is best… And in reality none of this really matters to what we should be most concerned and worried about….Good luck to all and may the BEST teams prevail….
I’m proud of you

Hard to do much when you lose your starting QB before the season starts and you lose your best RB from last year.
Also lost best lineman

Yeah- I was just a little startled to have it show up on my front porch—I’ve got a lot of questionable online activity for an old guy—I didn’t know if it was one of the alphabet agencies letting me know they are closing in or what… Anyway, I’ll indulge them Friday night & see how it goes—half expect to get sucker punched smh
-
Thank-you…I’m on the fence… it’s a small town and if one person knows I’m Homer, then all 39 do, my goofiness hate’s constraints
-
Shattered… I was gifted my very own Cascade Homer t-shirt today—I will wear it one game-if any Marion fans see me, say what’s up, bc I’m thinking this is my final season as the unofficial & un sanctioned & unapproved Cascade reporter smh

I can assure you they were at full strength.
A team good enough to beat Bledsoe & h2o shouldn't lose 45-0 to Marion based on Marion's other game scores---
Either way, I'm expecting a close game vs. the worst 9-0 team in the history of 9-0 teams...

sequatchie is terrible
FC is technically the better win--simply based on records I listed Seq

Who has cascade beaten that’s better? Only really elite team cascade played is Moore county and… they scored 5 points.
I bet the Watertown team that we beat was better than the Seq team that you beat---45-0 they must've been missing half of their roster...Nonetheless, that is a fallacious argument-Whataboutism or something or maybe a Red Herring-General will know which fallacy. But, my point stands.....Moore was the 1st game of the season--they returned everyone whereas we had players in new positions--it would be a much better game at this point.
-
6-3 Sequatchie is the best victory-- but I'm thinking something was up that night for them to lose 45-0---had to be missing multiple starters...

That couldn’t be further from the truth. You all be bigger yes but more athletic no.
idk, but I said comparable athletes...

Agreed. Fast start will be their key. They’ve won 2/3 of their games this year in blowout fashion. I think people just need to put that Forrest game to the side. Good teams have off nights, but good teams on off nights still find ways to win games. Forrest also does not have a bad roster and do hang in games because of the talent.
but the opposition has a combined record of 33W-48L!
Marion has beaten 1 team with a winning record

dogs it is--I've seen enough video to know that there isn't an athleticism gap...
Rd 1 ER vs Cascade
in Class 1A & Class 2A

Free safety is kind of an important position to stop the big play, swapping out a senior for a freshman, tends to have that effect…
