Daddy ball got Coach Josh the job, he’s not going to stop playing it now. Bball coach’s son will still be QB for the mediocre bullpups.

Actually they hired the OC of the team who won the 5A state championship 5 months ago.

But that doesn't fit your narrative.

    Try again.

How much high school experience does he have again?

Always found it humorous that a certain parochial school in West Knoxville used do crow about "beating" Maryville in scrimmages, but could never even once beat them in a game that actually counted in the W/L record.

I find it hilarious that Bearden hired a youth league football coach to be the head coach of their program. Recruiting is the name of the game their tho, not coaching. Ask their BBall coaches.

I thought Carter was Alcoa's feeder system, did they quit running the bus over there when diesel hit $5.39.

That was until Coach Josh took over the reigns at dog house. Gas Money is no object

Just relaying message, no reason to think this coach would lie about it. We've had numbers like that before, maybe JJ recruited the hallways like a coach should be doing.

Coach Josh is only worried about recruiting the impressionable youth from Northwest, Vine, Gresham, and Whittle Springs. That’s why he’s setting up 8th grade visits. I’m sure Billy Booster Club from West Knox will be happy when his son is waving a towel on the sideline and Baby Roadrunners are playing tailback

So, whoever you are- I really don't need your approval on anything. I don't claim to be "in the know" on everything. But I have been around for a long time and do still talk to folks even though I am retired from any involvement these days.  Lots of long term friendships. But you can believe what you will. I don't care and I am not hurt by yours or anybody else's opinions

I really hope JJ does well at Bearden because that is my alma mater and I want to see the program rebound and compete.  But like everybody else, I am interested to see how it plays out.

And since you apparently know me, please have the stones to tell me who you are instead of trying to covertly insult me.

Not holding my breath on that one, however.

Doesn’t rebound imply that the program was “up” at one point? Look at the history of your alma mater, Billy.

Nope. Don't need to, Joe Bob Whiny Butt.

    But thanks for playing.

And welcome to my ignore list. You guys should all have a swell time together in that cyberspace room.

It must hurt to not always be “in the know” like you feel like you always are. But trust me man, it’s okay! I promise you’ll make it

I don't know Josh Jones and have never spoken to him.  But my 2 cents has to do with off the field.  The way I heard it was that there is not a single football coach in the school building during the school day.  I was told this is not new for Bearden football.  As one former player now at West told me, "the coaches just show up after school and yell at us".   I know first hand that managing an 85 member football team's behavior (keeping them out of trouble) and grades (keeping them eligible) is a difficult job even with all the coaches in the building.  I guess it's possible, but that seems problematic from an outside view point.  I'm sure the program will get lots of attention this upcoming season.  It will be fun to see it play out.

I understand that there are no current staffers that were on the previous staff. Last man standing was the DB / special teams guy that’s jumped for a spot at another different school. Interesting staff Coach Josh has put together certain

They just hired a great coach that has very good connections that will attract a lot of good players like lightening to a lightening rod. I know the Maryville staff pretty well also and most of them have mentioned it in conversation that they expect some big things out of the Bearden program which is good.

Coach Josh always done a good job with the little league teams around town certainly

If he goes to Powell he may have a great chance of being on a state championship team if they can come up with a decent line. If he goes to Oak Ridge he would make them better for sure. I never though Oak Ridge was really bad but changes needed to be made for sure. Bearden would improve with him but not championship ready there for a year or two. I think Josh Jones will be a go getter and find some good players to bring in and also put the right staff together in order to be very good. Talked with Derek a few weeks ago and that was one of the things he mentioned to me was to expect a major improvement in Bearden.

Everything should go swimmingly for the Dogs assuming the basketball coach son gets the nod as the QB#1. If Coach Josh recruits a new one, katy bar the door!

I've spoken to Josh Jones one time in my life that I can recall, so I am certainly neither pro nor con on him as a head coach.

But it amuses me that for a guy who has never coached a high school game as a head coach that so many posters seem to be concerned about him at this point from all of the conversation about him.

    Interesting.

Really they guy hasn’t coached much high school ball at all. I guess with so many strong opinions, there must be some cause for it. Where I come from… when there’s smoke… there’s fire #EAT
