A great day for Decatur County. Thanks to you for what you do for the program.  Wished my Dad was around to see this. He watched me and my 2 brothers play for 10 years in the 70’s and 80’s for the Panthers and then he spent several years as the PA announcer. He saw the first playoff game in 1981 and many more after that.  Go Panthers!

For those who say the QB is not that good stats don’t lie, against HC and Beech Perkins is 28/47 for 512 yds and 7 TD’s.  

Funny story about playing Glencliff. Hville played them about 10 years ago at Glencliff.  Entire chain crew quit at half time. PA guy has the following announcement “ have you ever wanted to be part of the chain crew, now is your chance”. Fortunately 2 of our regular guys  were at the game and filled in.  

Fairley has 10 shutouts in 12 games.  Only 2 games they gave up points in they lost.  Lost to Northpoint Christian 28-13 and Covington 42-38.  Watched their game with Northpoint late last night.  Spread on offense with a lot of speed.

Ms Mondo liked the catfish at Southside. Not as good as Catfish House or Top Hog but good.

Commandos hang on 41-34/ great job by RB’’s Cooper Jordan, Dale Payne, and the offensive line. Not a great job by the defense but they did get a big sack in the last 2 minutes to seal it 

Hville up 27-20 at half/ good offense, no defense

Beech and HC win easy.  Same recipe for Hville and Springfield, play physical, run the football and control the clock.  I would suspect Springfield will play nickel or dime defense the whole game.  Watched Southwind against Horn Lake MS and Melrose, their passing game is pretty good. Make them go the distance, nothing easy.  Good luck to all!

Congrats to HC on the region title.  Outstanding team, well coached.  Marshall is quite a player.

Predictions for next week

MJ beats GH and is the #1 seed

Cookeville beats Wilson Cent and is the #2 seed

Gallatin beats Lebanon and is the #3 seed 

Green Hill is the #4 seed as they win the tiebreaker versus Lebanon

Commandos drive 94 yards in the final 6 min to get the game winner/ way too many mistakes

14-14 at halftime in a penalty turnover filled first half. Baker throws an 84 yd TD pass to Jordan on 3rd and 17 .to give the Commando the lead, they then stop Lebanon and fumble  the punt. Lebanon scores inside of a minute to tie it. Not a great half for the Commandos. 

Yes, will probably still have the brace that he wore last week but he is good to go. 

Lebanon is a well coached team who takes advantage of what you give them.  They scored last week

on a blocked punt, also blocked a FG, and also had a pick 6 for a TD.  Commandos have to play mistake free ball and get the running game going to set up the pass.  

Springfield doesn’t throw it well but they sure can run it. Cobbins is one of the better backs we have seen. One of their other backs broke one for 50 on the first play of the game.  Hard offense to defend. 

Gallatin by 17.  How is Brinkley’s knee?
