McMinn and East Hamilton will be 1 & 2. Don’t know which will win it but they will be the top two seeds.
The last two playoff spots will be up for grabs. WV, Rhea, SD, LC, & the Owls will fight for those.Really I think walker valley and mcminn are same tier with east Hamilton and rhea county as tier 2 and then soddy daisy and lenoir city tier 3 and ooletwah as tier 4. Ooltewah used to always have a guaranteed region win with Howard being in our region but they got bigger, and it's hard for me to believe they are 6a now granted they play independently, but my whole life they was 3a, then 4a briefly 5a briefly and now 6a. Apparently a great deal of those new students are Hispanic from what I had heard

Anyone with any intel or thoughts on Eagles football for the coming year?
Who is the head coach over there now eagle? I think it'll be business as usual mcminn, Rhea county, and walker valley competing for the 1 & 2 seed. East Hamilton at 2 or 3 Then soddy daisy and lenoir city competing for the 4th seed possibly 3 seed if they can upset the top 3, but I don't see it happening I definitely see the bottom seed continuing to be ooletwah but maybe in a year or two they'll be competitive with that coach that turned mcminn central around, Idc what anyone says that felt like a big loss to me. Good luck to you guys this upcoming season!

WV is hosting Central tonight at 7pm for a scrimmage after the OMS blue/gold game. Not sure if I'm staying for the high school scrimmage depends on if my son wants to stay after his game or not. If I do I'll post some game notes. Be interesting to see what Ostrowski has the chargers looking like in such a short time. I don't keep a close eye on MC but I believe they lost a lot of seniors, for sure the QB. I wonder how dry Moody left the cupboard before he left?
Quite a few seniors left they'll be rebuilding this year and judging by that dudes middle school records he can't be all that great as a head coach, that hire was an absolute head scratcher, of course administration had to cause issues with one of the better coach's they had in years. Look for the Chargers to finish at 3-7 to 5-5 this year even with that weaker schedule they have lined up.

I know nothing about Meigs and McMinn. I'm hoping like someone said previously it comes down to AE and Kingston. I hope we can finally get over that Roane County speed bump
If central kept there coach from previous year they'd be in the running for sure, but this new coach got the job based off who he knows dude went like 0-8 at middle school level past year with a fairly decent Ocoee middle school( walker valleys feeder school) so don't see him doing much better with what we got in East mcminn county.

You gotta have good, fast athletes to make the Wing-T work in the higher divisions of HS football. If CC were 2A or 3A, they might have more success with it. Kevin Creasy figured out his style would work at Oakland because of the demographics. It also worked at 1A Trousdale Co.
Yeah I didn't picture there being to many speedsters up there in Campbell County, wasn't a whole lot at rhea county either but they made it work.

I don't know the guy at all, but it seems like he left Rhea Co. on less than stellar terms with the community as well. Is this standard for him or just some bad coincidences?
I think its honestly coincidence I'm no fan of rhea county, but I know he did a heck of a job there from 2013- 2018ish. I knew as soon as he got the head coaching gig at Campbell County that was just gonna be a stepping stone for him, Campbell did well under price brothers but other than that I don't think I ever remember them being better than 4-6 most years. It'd take a big investment to turn that program around, I didn't think wing t would translate all that well with Campbell either, I think he would be better off elsewhere and Campbell County deserves better as well just wasn't a good fit in my opinion.
-
All I can say is wow. I hope the best for this guy, but his track record does not look good at all. This seems like a bad hire I was predicting central to go about 7-3, bet they go about 4-6 now.

I seen something on city of Athens group that they are gonna have some group meeting about consolidating some schools. I hope they don't think about consolidating mcminn and central everyone would hate that.

East Hamilton came
East Hamilton had been around since 2009 doesn't explain why they fell apart in 2018

I'm not putting the horse before the buggy think oak ridge is tougher than both east ham and lenior city. This game could go either way honestly.

Yeah, he was a riot. Man, they (Ooltewah) are just awful. What happened? They were solid every year for a while. The recruiting dry up?
I'm not sure man, I noticed around the time ooletwah started going downhill that mccallie and Baylor started to dominate the d2 3A division. My best guess Is when Mac Bryan stopped coaching there and they had a couple of bad seasons people stopped sending their kids to ooletwah for football that whole area of Hamilton County has been booming in residential development so it sort of surprised me how that didn't fill any gaps, sadly ooletwah can only hope to win a few non-conference games because Howard is moving to 6a or playing an independent schedule. I don't see a light at the end of the tunnel for them. This region will pretty much continue to run through mcminn county or Rhea county for most years with walker valley and east Hamilton winning it occasionally to make it more interesting. I don't know think soddy daisy coming back to 5a will translate for them they had all they could handle against loudon and Macon county this year, and most years they weren't beating red Bank or Hixson either. Probably could see them fighting for 4th seed most years

There seems to be a pretty good contingent of MacMinn fans on here. Look forward to talking with y’all throughout the week.
I remember when it seemed like I was the only one on here for awhile. I've been using coacht (not just from this account) since around 2015 I'd say. Seen a few guys come and go. Main one I can think of that wad a big poster you never hear from no more was passive aggressive idk if he passed away or just stopped posting because of how ooletwah went back to how they were pre 2000. Was a funny guy. If I went back I could name a few other guys but he is the main person I remember his big boy football posts used to get under my skin when I was younger lol

Every year i wonder how does a 1-9 team make the playoffs? This is ridiculous
Because they were good enough to beat one team lol it is ridiculous honestly wish there was another way to determine it, no reason a 1-9 team from a weak region should get in over a team thats 7-3 or 6-4 from a strong region

Cherokees are coming off a blowout win over Walker Valley.. feels like they’re playing some of their best football as the season as progressed.
I don’t know much about Clinton aside from the administration stuff and a coaching change preseason. And a 3-7 record. But after they marched into Athens last year with a losing record and rolled the ‘Kees… I expect a fight from the Dragons.
Thoughts/comments/predictions?
I know last year mcminn was missing several after that scuffle that happened in Powell. I like the kees in this one but strange things have happened I said on another post it just depends which of each of these teams show up Friday, if it's the cherokees that played rhea county and walker valley rather than the one that should up earlier in the season giving away 2 back to back games in Hamilton County. Looking at Clinton's schedule the teams they beat they should have but very weak Scott and Campbell County teams, and squeaker with karns who isn't usually that great. With that their best game looks to be the close loss with Lenoir City. Its possible r4 could get a sweep with oak ridge so hurt but I know they won't go down without a fight against the golden eagles of rhea county. I like Walker valley against Lenoir City and I think east Hamilton should beat karns.

Definitely not a murder’s row of non region games but it’s the same schedule as last year and WV was able to beat McMinn on their field.
This year, McMinn whipped WV on the LOS (and all over the field). Congrats to them and good luck next week.
Yeah think they was WV first win against mcminn since it became a school which surprises me because they had beaten Cleveland and Bradley several times before that. For some reason mcminn always has walker valley number, you can throw out their record because 2 of mcminns worse years they were able to beat walker valley,2010 and 2014, which that's before walker valley started getting better at football. I heard that walker valley was gonna be at 6a numbers this cycle but looks like they weren't quite there believe after this cycle this maybe walker valley last 4 years in 5a, northern Cleveland and Bradley County are growing quickly. Mcminns numbers didn't look right at all to me, they had 1296 which is smallest they've been since calhoun high school closed down and they started coming to up to Athens, I know when I was in high school which was 2012-2016 mcminn got up to around 1600-1650 kids I don't know what would cause them to lose that many kids besides a much lower birth rate, Athens has steadily increased in population so that's weird to me. All that aside I think walker valley beats lenior city, East Hamilton will beat Karns, mcminn should beat Clinton depends on which of both of those teams show up, and rhea county could pull the upset where oak ridge is injury ridden, likely be a close game between them

Walker Valley has played the biggest cupcake schedule any 5A team could play and tonight it caught up to them
Still beat east Hamilton which made think score would be much closer, so we are 2 seed bc east ham has better record and same district record? Meaning we got clinton?

Mcminn surprised me tonight won 37-6 over a favored walker valley @ their house

TP was missing 7 starters as well, including one that was hurt on Thursday playing round ball in the gym. Both teams completely healthy, it would not have changed much about that game. Say what you want to, but for a ranked 3A team to struggle with a 2A team says one of three things, either the 2A is pretty good or the 3A isn't or we could agree that both teams aren't too bad. Most definitely would not have been a 20 pt difference.
Brother your the one who said it was a few bad calls away from being closer but it was at tellico all jokes aside I was just bustin your chops

The players they are missing are more important and better

Since nobody else in TP has internet, I am going to say The Bears take this one. Defense is looking pretty dang stout, holding one of the top teams in 3A to the fewest points they have scored all year last week. If you take away about three plays and a few terrible calls from the refs, TP probably beats McMinn Central in a close one. November football is looking good for the bears right now. Hope they can make a run.
Central is also riddle with Injuries offensively. Would have been about 20 points worse if the whole team was playing

Over at mcminn they lost their starting qb he transferred over there to play for simbeck and them Meigs county boys although it means less than it would at other schools bc mcminn don't pass it all that often
