  1. Care to elaborate? Reasons why? Have you seen either team? greenback gonna be competitive in 1a this year?
  2. It’s definitely a worry of mine. Trust me I know how physical meigs is and if they are moving the chains to with no turnovers it may very well be a long night for sweetwater because the depth isn’t really there.
  3. It 100% does. Not gonna lie I enjoy the environment at Jewell field on a Friday night. I go to many games at meigs throughout the years!
  4. I think the tigers defense will give up a few big plays but overall the front 8 are solid. I think it’ll come down to your secondary play and depends on if sweetwater can complete some passes and keep the sticks moving. My honest opinion it’ll come down to the second half and who’s in better shape.
  5. Good deal, it was hard to watch the last few years lol. I went to trousdale for the first semifinal meeting a few years ago and I still think you guys win that game with a kicker
  6. We also didn’t throw a single pass and only ran the same two plays. All I know is it’s gonna be run heavy Friday from Meigs and my guys better buckle their chin straps because nothing about meigs is soft. Either way football is back and I couldn’t be happier
  7. Does Meigs have a kicker this year? That’s what made me go with the 26.
  8. Got to see central in the jamboree and was impressed offensively. I think we will get more of a gauge for them Friday as it’s hard to tell how good they really are against a really bad sequoyah team who looks to go 0-10 for the 4th straight year.
  9. He is definitely an athlete I enjoy watching him play basketball, he’s a fiery kid who wants to win and tough as nails so there’s no doubt he will figure it out. Yes sir looks like some scattered showers so that’s always fun and makes things interesting. I enjoy talking football so I figured I’d start posting! Good luck Friday!
  10. Definitely a bit of both, sweetwater returns a lot of starters, and meigs lost a lot of really really good players. Our QB isn’t looking over his shoulder this year like last year cause a very talented sophomore qb ended up transferring. Privates and others seem to like to come after some of our better athletes, been like that for a while now but that’s another story. in the end it’s high school football and a bounce or two can change a game either way. Either way I’ll be rooting for both these teams the rest of the year.
  11. Yeah TY and Luke run very hard they will be a load for anybody this year. If you can get good qb play out of Meadows you guys will be right in the mix as always come November. I do think you’ll have to have good secondary play Friday. Cause sweetwater will throw it a few times this year and try to stretch you laterally. Meigs is definitely the favorite in this game and deservedly so
  12. They converted two third and longs including a 3&12 for the big run. Then our outside linebacker and safety got sucked in on the run and they hit the pass to the tight end for the td. Coach Martin pulled our guys after 1 series and we was very very vanilla with our defensive and offensive play calling. imo and I may be wrong we are 2 tds better than Polk. hiwever a coach Davis coached team is always a threat
  13. I think it’s a toss up but I think meigs controls the ball and pulls out a 26-21 win. If sweetwater gets good qb play don’t be surprised if they pull it out. Two good running backs and 3 viable options on the outside. Meigs will need to hit a few passes to win this game imo, sweetwater has a good defensive line but there weakness is on the back end
  14. Sounds good, I will talk to ya. I go to a lot of meigs games as well so I’m very familiar with the meigs program in all sports. I think this game will be closer this year than it has in the past few
  15. Look forward to a great game Friday. I’m new to posting on the T but have been reading the boards for years. Graduated from sweetwater a while back and have a ton of friends in Decatur! Hope both teams have a great showing! Sweetwater tends to give up the big play in the passing game but controls the run pretty good this year with a good line. Good skill players on offense as well this year. Biggest key for them is gonna be to avoid penalties and play discipline football. Something they’ve struggled with early on this preseason
