I'm still highly confused on having a state championship MVP on the sideline. It's like that episode of family guy. A boat is a boat but the mystery box could be anything it could even be a boat! Now switch boat for a MVP

Made NO SENSE. Had #5. When he was out there on Offense at WR? Lined him up in shotgun and was good for 5-10yrds running up the middle. And yes why wasn’t their best athlete out there on Offense? Just puzzling to say the least. In 1A you gotta put your best 6 on the field playing both ways. heck a lot of 4-6A teams play their athletes on both sides. Johnson really squandered an opportunity. Had the talent. But didn’t use it appropriately.

Can you give me some odds on Mountain City (Johnson County) making it to a state championship?? They are 2-9, 2-8, 4-6, 4-7 the last 4 seasons.  Not really worried about their commute because they won't have one.

What’s Johnson Co got to do with it. Hampton and Cloudland are close. And both have played for the ball. Yes it should be centrally located to make the trip easier for every team. I still think Chattanooga is the best place atp.

You’re never gonna beat Alcoa. Unless you find a transfer portal outta Williamson Co. Fact. Alcoa has athletes some home grown some not. That’s where your talent base is to get kids/parents to move into your community. Giles has the Coach. But he can only do so much with the talent on hand. He’s probably the best coach in 3A.
But he must have the athlete’s in work with. You must have kids in the community joining the program to get to the next level. It’s that simple. Alcoa reloads every year with this model. So IF you’re ever going to compete for a state title you must have the best area athletes join your program. Year in Year Out. Alcoa has the “system”. Which they got from Maryville etc etc. And apparently Greenville has adopted this “system” as well. A great athlete in Greene Co ain’t gonna waste his time playing at North Green, South Green, Chucky Doak etc. They’re transferring to GHS. To Play and show they’re talent on a bigger stage. And possibly get noticed by a college and play for a championship.
The rich get richer in Counties with multiple Co HS’s.

So, I had a long talk with iamoz today. (If you don't know, he and I are 50-50 partners in the site. Have been since 2001. He does the technical end and I do everything else). Today we worked out a plan whereby he will take over the site, run it himself, sell it, whatever and make sure my wife gets 50% of everything. She can continue the site as is for awhile, if she chooses. She does a lot of the work already. But, I want her free to do what she wants and not feel obligated to run CoachT.com.

Now, if any of you would like to startup another state and see how you like it, email me at coacht@coacht.com. I have made efforts to do this before but everyone I tried was young and needed income right away and it didn't work out. In fact, we have a site in place for every state. Just add the state after http://coacht.com/... and you'll see it. If the state is two words, like North Carolina, then put a hyphen between the names like http://coacht.com/north-carolina

Best wishes on your retirement. I appreciate you sharing with everyone your decision and plans. Not everyone who has started a business is so straightforward and honest when it’s time to hand it off. I’m sure you’ll continue to be on the site and i look forward to the information and topics you post. Good luck with your health hopefully for many years to come. IF I can speak for the members I’d just like to say Thank You.

It doesn't do monthly donations and a yearly thing only.  Maybe you signed up for one of those adult websites with a monthly subscription, I mean "Donation"

Hey brother. Thanks for the link. Apparently i just made a “donation” when i subscribed. Kevo should be able to sleep at night now and whoever BCSports is. Is he always so crabby? He sent me a message that was. . Well not nice. I love everyone and i refuse to be nothing but kind to everyone. “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself”.

I don’t doubt that UTC is nice and I’m sure Chattanooga is nice. West Tn. people are sick of having to drive to east Tn. How would East Tn people like having to drive to west Tn every year? It only makes sense to me to have it in the middle in Nashville/Murfreesboro. Just my opinion. Heck I would be good with Clarksville.

Hey i totally agree brother. I think it’s going to be tough to find a location that makes everyone happy.

Coach i really appreciate what you’ve started with the site. 1997. Goodness what a vision for fellow sports fans to share their comments and memories. I’d really hate for you to sell. . But IF you’re still supervising maybe it’d be ok. . Not sure who’s going to take your place in the future but Southtowner and Pujo should be on a board of advisors at the very least. I really enjoy the info and content they share. Thanks for creating a forum that has allowed fans to share in their enthusiasm  for the sports we all grew up with and continue to enjoy. Best wishes with your future.

I've been to all the sites, Vandy, MTSU (alma mater), Tech, and UTC. UTC is by far the best experience. Parking was convenient, easy into stadium, restaurant right outside of stadium.

I agree. Chattanooga is pretty much accessible for everyone except the far east and west. And the experience there is SO much better than anywhere else it’s been held. No offense but Cookeville was a dead spot. Much better in Chatt. Easy access. Parking right in front of the entrance gate. Heck i walked out to the car and back at halftime. Lots of good food, hotels, and in a fairly safe part of town. No WAY we go back to the Liberty Bowl. Every house around the stadium has bars on all the windows and doors. Not a good place to walk back to your car after dark. I do like the idea of the new Titans stadium. But parking, hotels, etc will be a pain. I hope they leave it at UTC. It’s a great location. I realize you’re never gonna make everyone happy regardless of the location. But I’m quite happy with it staying where it is.

With Football season over, you can go back to talking to yourself idiot!

BC. . Nice to hear from you brother. I don’t believe we’re acquainted. I hope we’re not getting off on the wrong foot here. Maybe you’re referring to “Willie”. I assure you I’m not the guy Kevo is talking about. Regardless have a wonderful evening.

I entered my CC to Coach T. Maybe it was a one time donation. I’m not the most tech savvy person. When i get a chance I’ll make sure I’m a member so Kevo can go chase another ghost. “Willie” must have said something that is causing that poor man a lot of anxiety. Unfortunate. Kevo is a good dude no matter what Willie has said about him.

So which account is the paid member one? Did you just tell on yourself ? You have to have a Star and a CoachT+ for the paid membership and you don't have one.  Speaking your mind doesn't make something true, I hate to tell you .

Not sure about the “star” but i signed up with a monthly donation. And of course Swipes you among others have set me straight when I’m wrong. Do you know anything about this “Willie” poster?

It either changes or more people move on....it's just a bunch of whining or fake drama to troll...............

It will kill the message board of this site. The Scoreboard and schedule content is the strong points.

BC let’s not condemn our wonderful and fun message board. Kevo has a “problem” with someone posting as “Willie”. I have never personally seen him on this site or have a clue who he might be. . Kevo has an obsession with “Willie” and it’s apparently causing him to accuse Me and god only knows whoever of “being” Willie. Willie if you’re out there please send Kevo a message. Because you’ve apparently gotten into his mind so deeply that he’s accusing good hearted posters of being You. For all who are concerned or care. I am a paid member and have at least one day of “most liked content” for all the haters. I speak my mind. Some people can’t handle the truth. As the Boss said. If you don’t want to see someone’s post just pull up their account and click ignore. It’s that simple.
If you don’t like “Willie” just don’t read his stuff. Simple. Otherwise let’s enjoy sharing our experiences and input on HS Football.

If it's statistically impossible than how has it happened? You're stretching with the Vince Lombardi because if he was at Alcoa he would have just as many Gold Balls.  It's the the program they run, it truly is that simple and are blessed with generations of great players that parents keep them in Alcoa system. (Thats why you will see the same names year after year Warrens, Tyson, Toney, Cannon, Robinson, Salter, etc.  Its the same way at great programs Greeneville has Dabbs, Gillespies, Mayes, Quillen, Greenway, etc).  They also work hard from the pee wee leagues up and took weight training seriously before anyone else really did and how they have become a powerhouse no matter the classification.  Yes they get a transfer or two that want to be part of that program or have someone move into town thats not from the area if their parents get a job transfer and want their son to be part of a great program and get a great education.  Other programs need to follow their game plan so they can compete better.  It's exactly why Greeneville has had the success they have had over the last 15 years. (We took it out of Alcoa's and Maryville's playbook because what a lot of people don't know is Ballard was on that staff at Maryville with Quarles.  We got serious about the weight room in 07 when McCurry was hired away from a state championship program in Asheville and Ballard was the OC and his system has been in place since).  You will now see former players coaching from pee wee, in middle school, and at the high school level, Betsy has done the same and Witten will credit Greeneville for that.  (he has in multiple interviews).  If you want to be a champion you have to train and mimic what Champions do.

Fair enough. You’re awfully knowledgeable about the history of these programs. And i guess Quarles was the first program that I’m aware of that has won consistently since the late 90’s. Of course they’ve had a lot of D1 talent pass through that school as well. And yes to your earlier comment EHS really missed Maupin in 2021 title run. That was their weakest link was a big dominant tailback. Rollins was used as both a Qb and Rb. They’d probably have beat Tullahoma IF they had another kid like Maupin. Any reason he left DB. They were pretty solid that year as well.

Don’t know if IPOPU2022 is Willie but Willie does have MANY screen names on here. I know this for a fact.

Ok I’m lost. . Who is this “Willie” character? Kevo is really struggling with this dude whoever he is and I’m afraid it’s causing him to show signs of delusional behavior. He’s been accusing me of being this guy who’s apparently gotten into his head and started talking to me as “if” I’m “Willie”. I’m just a hard working guy who loves HS football. I enjoy a lot of the poster’s comments on this site. And respect everyone’s opinion. Kevo needs our love and support. And I’ve extended my condolences and suggestions to help him get his struggles addressed. God loves you brother and I’m praying for you.

I thought you had turned a corner .  Go back and read what he said again. "Most kids on these teams have been playing ball together since peewee running the same system the high school team uses so when they get up there nothing's new" which is a true statement if you actually know anything about Alcoa's program (I do after living in Knoxville for 15 years now).  Yes great programs everywhere will get transfers in and some they wish they didn't. (I know Alcoa wishes especially the QB that transferred in to Alcoa during Covid and was ranked from California and the dad was a head case to say the least, especially after his son lost the starting Job.). You're throwing stones from a glass house being a Elizabethton fan when your star running back during those championship runs in Maupin was a transfer from DB.  Parents want what best for their kids and will do what it takes for them to be successful, Alcoa doesn't have to recruit when the program recruits for itself.  So please tell me what they are "getting away with"?  Running a championship program?

You have a point there Swipes. Maybe the rich just get richer. Maybe the coaching , culture, and success draws kids and their parents to Alcoa. All am saying is there’s something going on there that is statistically impossible. I don’t see Vince Lombardi winning 20 Gold Balls at any 3A HS in Tn. Yes you’ll get the once in 10-20yr group of 15 kids who are super athletic and play together from grade school. But every year. With a fresh group of kids. I don’t think Alcoa is necessarily out coaching everyone year in year out. They out talent teams year after year after year. That’s what i don’t understand. Where do these kids keep coming from every year.

Seems you see thru the lies. Willie has multiple accounts and screen names on here. Crazy stuff…

BPM. . Please don’t encourage Kevo to continue with his silliness. He pops up randomly and unsolicited. I was having discourse with my good friend Swipes the last time he appeared. I sent him a very straightforward reply and even invited him over for thanksgiving dinner. Then nothing. No response. So I figured we could just go on with football. Today he appears again making these same crazy allegations about multiple accts etc. Maybe he hears voices in his head that are clouding his perception of reality. Kevo if you see this know that I’m on your side and and that for all your goofiness God still loves you.
